Lost my wife just 5 months ago. This song goes right to the heart. Listened to it for years but now it speaks to my soul like never before. So sad, so touching and so beautiful all at the same time. Thank you so much Toy Caldwell.............
I couldn't write a prettier song on my best song-writing day! Doug, you sound awesome...and the band's musical talent is without a doubt...a gift from above. You are all a part of many of our lives...and your fans will do everything 'we can' to keep your music alive! Nothing is forever...except your music! Peace & Blessings, my friends!
Toy lost Tommy, he wasn't the same, first was their younger brother then Tommy, I ran into Toy at the local bar, had a couple of drinks. Wasn't the same 😢😢
To all the ole southern rockers luv to see em one more time. I miss this stuff.seen em 4. 5. 6. Times not disappointed. The smoke you know. They all run together. Like family......
Saw the MTB at Winterland in the early 70's - 3 group concert - don't remember the warm up band, but second band was Lynyrd Skynyrd and they absolutely rocked! Marshall Tucker came on as the feature act - Skynyrd had been so damn hot, I didn't know if MTB could follow - and I've been a huge devotee to this band since their first album - I think I've seen them 8 or 9 times in concert, but this was this first time. I have to tell ya, MTB came out and KILLED IT! This was back in the days when Charlie Daniels made frequent appearances with them - - WOW all these years later and I still remember that concert as the best I've ever seen! Toy could truly write a lyric! And, when Doug still had his voice, there was nobody in the world who could touch him! In my opinion, the greatest love song ever written was the last song on this album "Foolish Dreamin'" The last song on the last album of the whole group - still brings a tear to my eye... They just don't make music like this anymore! Terrible shame what's happened to country music! Cheers Ya Al'
I have always been a tucker fan since childhood, in my 30s now and I picked up this tune a few weeks ago and anytime I " take the highway " this jam is on now. this song is a gem and touches my soul in so many personal ways. Thank Ltrainxpress for these publishings of the tucker boys.
of all of the Great Southern Bands, Tucker was my favorite, saw them probably 15 times and each time i was just as excited as my first time...TC was hell on that black Les Paul, you can relate to what he wrote.....Tell It To The Devil is fantastic
So many great southern jam bands, though MT might not qualify to some I discovered them at a time when my musicianship needed a kick in the ass. Fell in love and couldnt get enough for months. Soulful, melodic, evocative and just great hooks and grooves. And I'm a drummer! Surprised?
if there was ever a songwriter that could write a love song and back it up with great guitar licks it was TC....But if you wanna hear one that makes you think,, listen to...''.Tell It To The Devil'' what a song.....
Underrated song for sure. Too bad it wasn't more popular it's such a wonderful song.

Desert Dog Yeah Dog, and that number keeps going up as the years pass...
I know this song is about lost love, but 60 years on, it’s more about the loved ones we wish we could have one more conversation with…

I tunes has it listed on the Long Hard Ride album.
Thats a live version from the the 2004 reissue of Long Hard Ride. Its not on the original LP
In my thoughts JP💫
This and Foolish Dreaming is some of their best but don't hear to much about them for some reason
Still pisses me off that this band isn't in the rock n roll hall of Fame
