Great fun to watch. I’m very impressed by how people invent such recipes, like how you discover that the dough should NOT be too stretchy, and the 30 minute boiling time, and the waiting until they pop up to the surface of the water before stirring. They must surely be building on, and further developing, recipes that have been passed on down through the generations so that we don’t have to figure it out for ourselves, and we can avoid the mistakes. Thanks for posting.
Some are praising her and some were asking for alternatives while I am here just watching cuz I don't even have some of the ingredients and utensils cuz I am poor arse.
I tried this recipe so many times already and it works ! Just make sure that the mixture from the rice cooker is still quite hot when you mix in the strach or else the boba will be hard and will not be gummy like.
Works great if you pay attention to instructions. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.
thanks for the recipe!! i tried it and got it on the first try! took alot of kneading to get all the flour incorporated (took me about 25 minutes of kneading) but the pearls came out really nice and chewy! i soaked the cooked pearls in simple sugar syrup as i ran out of brown sugar and it was still yummy! 🙏🏼
OMG I JUST TRY THIS RECIPE AND TUTORIAL IT WENT REALLY NICE DOUGH ,AND NICE BOBA ,ITS CHEWY TASTE REALLY GOOD . I WILL USE THIS RECIPE IF I MAKE BOBA AGAIN. THANKYOU FOR SHARING!
using the rack is such a good idea! hand rolling boba took forever for me and they all came out different sizes and i wanted to throw them across the room
Thank you so much! Turns out, you can use cornstarch if you add about 1/2-2/3 of the amaount a tapiaoca starch and it works! Yum! For the tea part, I didnt follow a recipe, just blended 3 large strawberries, presses it through a sieve to get rid of any seeds, and mixed it with whole milk! Yummmm
You’re an amazing woman, Weng. I didn’t know making the boba pearls was this easy. I’ll surely be trying this recipe once I get hold of tapioca starch. Unless, you can suggest of another flour/ starch to substitute the tapioca? Thanks and always stay safe!
Aw! Thanks a lot my dear :) I've been making this pearls for my children since they love it so much. I think you can order tapioca starch online. :) Stay safe darling with your family. All the love.
I just finished making this and IT IS SO DELICIOUS! The boba is super soft and chewy unlike other recipes I've tried. When I steamed the dough, it took about 8 mins to reach the consistency like in the video and I also stirred it halfway - I think this is a step where you need to keep an eye on the dough constantly. It took me FOREVER to roll out the boba however but it was worth it for the great taste! Thank you so much for this video!
I did it and it was successful! 👏❤ Just follow every step precisely. Sa mga pinoy, since cassava starch is more known sa mga supermarket, yun na gamitin niyo, just like what i used. Very soft, chewy and satisfying 😍
I’ve made boba 3 times the first time was sort of a success but the other two times the dough became dry like instantly. I think I’ll try this method, thanks!! 🤩
@Savor Easy, love watching your vids, not so confusing to follow instructions, I have not yet tried this, but I will have a go, hopefully & fingers crossed it will turn up good, really loved your easy pandesal recepi, made it 3 times and it's a hit for me, even friends is asking for the recepi, even brought some to work and my co workers who Australian loved the pandesal. 👍
it looks easy to make. Wow, it is the best for this summer heat. I wonder how the color changed to dark is the sugar just the brown sugar or has to be muscovado? SO refreshing and I can not imagine buying this for 100 pesos a cup. Thanks Weng. God bless!
This is awesome but If you don’t have that much time It’s really easy to make it using tapioca seeds (you just boil the seeds make the sugar mixture make it dissolve in and you’re good to go)
I made my own version of tapioca pearls which I posted on my channel as well! It does comes out good but not as great as yours. Yours is really mouth watering. Thank you for sharing.
thank you for the recipe! just made this today, and it was a success! also for anyone wondering, i kept the lid off the whole time and followed her timing instructions. also, i found that when i was rolling out the bobas, some of them would be dry to the point where they would have a crease, but after cooking, you can't even tell that it wasn't a perfect circle. personally, i have a sweet tooth, so next time i would up the amount of sugar used in the last step (maybe almost 1/2 cup instead of 1/3)
Kookies and Cream in the part where she cooks them in a pot of boiling liquid, was that just boiling water or something else? its the part where she says don’t stir just wait for them to float
Do you think I can freeze the pearls before boiling them? It would be easier for me to not have to prepare the dough every time I want some bubble tea 😅
First time making and cooking boba. Tried this method to make boba and they came out great (did not do the last part with the sugar syrup). I did soak the boba in honey. I have to add that I used my old and cheap rice cooker. For the dough, I had to wait for the rice cooker to pre-heat (strong steam coming out of the lid vent), then I placed the mixture. For cooking the boba I waited until the water was boiling. At the end they tasted better than store bought.
I live in Vienna Austria and I looked all over the asian stores in here just to find boba pearls but I couldn't find some 😑 Now after watching your video, I realized that I have all the ingredients needed lol 😂 Thanks for sharing! Gonna do my own tapioca pearls for now on 😍
You are genius mare 👌 u would have thought na pede mong gamitin un cookie/baking rack pra sa pattern at pra mas madali mo ma-cut yun dough...btw, ilang araw ang shelf life ng homemade booba pearls?
Omggg i love boba pearlss thank you so muchhh and also i have a question. When you've made the balls can you keep them like in the fridge or do you have to cook it right after you make it?
