Not only do you need to beat the final boss to have all the figures even available, but the game has no reliable way of grinding for shells (the required currency). Plus, the amount of shells needed to guarantee pulls get more expensive.
@@stevesamuals2651 There is a reliable way to grind shells, it just takes time. You can farm rupees using Yellow Picolytes and mowing the grass field in Trilby Highlands, then you can buy shells from the shop in town.
@@MaskedGuyCh Actually, my method is spam rupee tile with mole mitts outside of Smith house to 999, much much faster since you're just a map section away from the shop. Takes awhile at 120 shells per go (140 if you dig for a green rupee in town for an extra 1)
@@Rusted_Obsidian I know about the red rupee outside Link's house, people tested it and it wasn't as fast as using Yellow Picolytes and mowing the grass field in Trilby Highlands (great spin + upgrade recommended). You can use the Ocarina to warp back to town.
My favourite handheld zelda, after the Oracle games. i remember feeling like such a boss back in the day, playing Minish cap, and working out everything by myself, and getting a complete 100% file without any guides or the internet, because my parents didn't want to let me use the internet. i can't remember exactly, but i think on my first ever playthrough of the game i missed the silver arrows. thats an event that if you don't do before doing the whole sky area, you'll never get that item again, as i found out the hard way. later playthroughs i got all the hidden items though, like the silver arrows and mirror shield.

i've been doing randomizers of this game lately and it's nice to learn new things about a game you've had for years :) for instance I didn't know about the strange button glitch thing, or how much you can just roll through and ignore. maybe now my times will be a little better.
Of course, although I will be a little lazy and copy the explanation from the FAQ I made back then: "How does the RNG manipulation work? If you save and quit, you always start with the same RNG value, so by using a certain movement path to get into the figurine house, the first figurine will always be Gleerock. Since there is nothing besides Link in the room that can change the RNG, the next figurines will also always be the same. The first few figurines after Gleerock will be new ones, but after a certain amount, the game wants to give you one you already have. By slashing the sword or using the boots now, the RNG changes, resulting in a new figurine instead of one you already have. Sometimes one sword slash isn't enough, so you might see me slash the sword ~5 times. Sometimes sword slashes are combined with boots usages to change RNG more quickly (boots advance RNG 3x3 times, sword only 1 per slash)." Something to note is that for this run, I rerouted the figurines a little bit to add boots usages. Overall, the reroute saves around ~40,5 seconds (compared to the Figurine Manip we did previously).
@@ToadsWoot Thanks I'm actually trying it now but am wondering how I am supposed to know when you just roll without slashes or boots as the list I found you posted on speedrun is only listing figurines to do those on not the ones where your just rolling without slashes/boots.
awesome run Toads! do you know if its possible to skip the 3 statues in caster wilds? id like to complete a run with a full kinstone bag for my ocd....or mabye a way to hold onto the cloud top kinstones? idk... please let me know what you think
Well they flat out skip Cloudtop in any%, so grab the other yellows then finish the game that way. The issue I see is you need to spend the Castor ones to get the items to do the glitch that makes those skips possible so yeah....
