@@madguy228 Haven't tested it myself, but i've read on the discord that you can't wrap around to make a straight. Can't have QKA21 or anything of the like, it just makes a high card.
I’m not sure if you know this, but with four fingers (the joker that allows flushes and straights to be played with 4 cards), you can have a different 4 cards be your flush than your straight and still get a straight flush For Instance, if you played A♥️, K♥️, Q♠️, J♥️, 6♥️, it would be a straight flush since your AKQJ makes a straight and your 4 hearts makes a flush.
Also, I think Superposition would work if the Ace isn't related to the straight with four fingers? So if the hand is A, 5, 6, 7, 8, it would still trigger right?
I got a build with four fingers, smeared joker, and a spectral pack which gave me a ton of the same suit, and lost because i tried to do a straight flush of 4 cards on the psychic fight which made it not count since you have to play 5 cards to make chips on that fight. :(
@@PieletPi You couldve copied the seed and played with the same RNG again. Still sucks youd have to play back up to that point, but at least then you couldve seen the potential of that build.
I honestly LOVE your balatro series. Hope the full game comes out in the near future. Also your editing nowadays is crazy good especially in the intros.
Its crazy too me how this game is STILL a demo and its already this popular! I hope the devs don't overwork themselves into releasing it too fast but this game is looking AWESOME so far!
Its interesting that aliensrock realized that he could flush house with only 4 of the same suit but didn't try the same with straight flushes, though i only found out this interaction kinda accidentally as well
Yea i think Tyler didn't realize the ace didn't have to be part of the straight to get the tarot. A6789 for instance is a straight with 4 fingers and would've given him the tarot. saw a few times this would've applied that he skipped.
It's been said a million times, it's going to be said a million times more, but can we just appreciate the amount of effort the editors put in? Absolutely beautiful
The joker that gives you 20 chips and upgrades+10 chips every time you play a straight does work with at least straight flushes so i supose it also works with royal flushes. Also the tarot card that gives you a random joker is great for the last boss.
Also the joker that gives a bonus for hands containing 3 of a kind will trigger on a full house or 4 of a kind, because it still contains a 3 of a kind
0:40 as someone who's nearly completed the entire collection (maybe I have, I'm not sure if the last blinds are reachable) you have no idea how much content is missing. I'm watching another balatro UA-camr who played the beta and it has so much cool stuff that I was sad to see is not in the demo.
Have been a follower since BTD battles days, years have passed but you kept the good content going, ingenius commentary and gameplay. Thanks for the countless hours of entertainment, Tyler
a funny thing with the four finger card. you dont need all 4 cards to be a straight and the flush. you can be one card off on both as long as 4 cards make a straight and the 5th card completes the flush. so A K
At the boss blind, you can instead of selling anything yet, if you have the "Juggler" Joker, you should dig through your hand first to find the cards that you want, and then sell the Juggler since you retain the +2 card hand after selling it (until you play a hand or discard cards), that works to your favour.
Hey mr editor, thank you for such an amazing video! Would you consider adding reminders of what combination as what whenever its mentioned for the first time in a given video? Its quite difficult to follow at times because im unfamiliar with poker and whether something is a straight, or a flush, or full house or whatever else thats not super intuitive Thank you!
I don't know if it was my comment, but i see that now there's a slight fade between cuts the speed up the tedious gameplay, which is what I commented on last video. Thank you so much for adding this change, it feels much better! ❤❤
Been so addicted to this game. Superposition, Four fingered hand, and splash (all played cards are scored) is great for farming tarot cards cause you can play any straight and just tack on an ace
at 6:25 you could have played ace 2 3 4 for your tarot/planet btw, aces are high or low even though that isn't really well visually denoted also, at 15:35 you actually have a straight flush with this red king, this game considers a straight flush to be a hand that contains both a straight and a flush, which with 4 fingers means you can play Ace King Queen Jack Jack (4 diamonds and 1 hearts) and have both the straight [Ace King Queen Jack] and the flush [Ace Queen Jack Jack] included within the hand.
Honestly the best channel for game recommendations. With roguelikes specifically, it's more enjoyable because you can watch without spoiling any content, so I've absolutely loved seeing Balatro from you! I even managed to score a 3,000,000 of my own!
Just so you know the 4 finger joker makes it so something like Ace of D, King of d, Queen of h, Jack of d, 4 of d is a strait flush because it contains both a strait and a flush
I had a great setup. There's a joker that removes suits and just makes it red and black, another than is +15 for a flush, and another joker "the supernova" that adds a multiplier = to the amount of times that hand has been played. Getting +50 multiplier was great at the end.
When it's the last turn and you are considering selling jokers but have the +2 joker. You can discard for a good hand while the cards in hand are still debuffed and sell the +2 joker before you play the cards.
fun thing you can do with the 4 fingers! at11:29 you had the ace high straight flush with A-Q-J-10-9, since the QJ109 fulfill the straight requirement and the A Q J 10 are hearts and make a flush, don't know if you figured this out later in the video but it's really powerful to be able to spot! edit: 15:35 too, "wrong king" nope! you still had the straight flush with A K Q J 4, the A Q J 4 fulfill the flush and the A K Q J fulfill the straight
Don't forget the Ace low straights also work for Superposition! I haven't confirmed if having an Ace anywhere else in a Straight also procs it or not, but it sounds like it might.
I noticed that whenever the Chip x Mult fires up, it's because your calculated hand is above the needed amount of chips to clear. For example, if the requirement is 18,000 and your hand is above that, it fires up. But, if it's 18,000 and you currently have 9,000 chips saved, you still need 18,000 for the fire to go up.
Hey pro tip when it comes to straight flushes in this game: When you have the card that makes straights and flushes work with 4 cards you can make a 4 card straight which only has three of one suit and then throw in a random card of that same suit to make it a straight flush. The other random card does not need to be a part of the hand to count and upgrade the hand to a straight flush. There were many times this game where you could have done this and so this build is actually even better than you saw here.
13:20 I'm pretty certain this game applies Joker buffs to any hand that "technically" contains their specified hand, e.g. the Joker that says "+10 Mult to Three of a Kind" will apply that buff to Full House and Four of a Kind
Although I know this doesn't apply to the To-Do List - e.g. if it asks you to play a pair a two pair won't work, so yeah the devs could definitely find a way to communicate this better
13:26 Yeah good templating with keywords and such would really benefit this game. It's one of those things Magic the Gathering does really well. They put a LOT of emphasis on wording things a particular way to make it unambiguous with most old cards "official" text being very different than what was originally printed on the cards (A problem avoided in digital cardgames where you can easily just change the words on cards) It would be great to see some emphasis on the difference between triggering when a hand *Contains* a flush / straight / pair / whatever vs when it is scored as exactly a specific poker hand
20:00 FYI, I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but if you sell the juggler it doesn't actually affect your hand size until next round, so it's a free sell in this fight
For the ace+straight=tarot/planet joker, the best cards to get rid of would be 6s, 7s, 8s, and 9s, since aces can do a straight in either direction, including a2345
Thanks for the content, Tyler. You're really the king of puzzles and deck builders, at least from where I'm sitting. I never really understood deck builders but you've definitely changed that for me, so thanks!
A little tip. You don’t need to sell a joker on the final fight. You should have waited because you might have wanted to sell the juggler after using your discards to dig. This is not always the case, but is very important to keep in mind.
The card that allows for 4 card flushes and straightens allows for 4 card straight + an ace. It also allows for 4 card straight with 3 being suited + any card of the suit for a straight flush
Dude, I love this game so much and this series is awesome. Have you considered trying seeded runs? There’s some insane stuff people have found leading to crazy scores if you get a bit lucky.
18:07 i was genuinely surprised because of how fast time passed i thought the game was really short then i checked the video time and it turns out his video was just too good
For the final boss, you don't need to sell the joker immediately, you just have to do it before cashing in. That way you can see first what you actually want to play before deciding on which joker to sell. You can even use the +2 cards joker to get a good hand, then sell it before cashing in.
Cant wait for the next video, a Royal Straight Flush. I fully expect the editor to grab the clip from No Game No Life with the woman reacting to Sora getting a Royal Straight Flush. It needs to happen.
Loving the Balatro content and the clever strategies; but one thing that would be cool to attempt is beating the final boss without discarding a joker. I can confirm it is possible.
A couple of tips i've learned. - switching Jokers in the Blind stages themselves is actually a strat depending on what you want to get and when - You can actually cheese straight flushes with the 4 Finger Joker, i'll let you figure out how
When a word or phrase is highlighted, it just has to meet that confition. I had a run where a joker gave +10 milt if there was a 3 of a kind, and it worked when I played a full house, and i think a 4 of a kind as well.
in the Verdant leaf battle, remember, "All cards are debuffed until 1 joker is sold", you don't have to sell the joker at the start of the round, so juggler is actually the best joker against verdant leaf because you can just look for your 1 hit killer, and only then you sell it
13:12 the one you're referring to (smeared joker) is rare, so I don't think it's smart using up rerolls trying to luck into one. That said, I haven't finished the video yet so who knows, maybe it works out
I dont know if you'll still read this since it's past the 12 hours or whatever (lol). But I JUST got recommended the video where you talk about how you are moving your upload schedule by 12 hours, like, right now. I watched THIS balatro video an hour ago (and made a different comment) and came back because I thought you'd be more likely to see this comment. I would always watch your videos at night in the past but tbh I didn't even notice the change for the past 4 weeks, and when I first saw the update video i thought you had just posted that today before looking at when it was posted. So interestingly, I guess youtube *didnt* like the change. That being said I still have been getting the new uploads in my recommended (which is where I usually go to find videos, am still subscribed though) and I even went back and checked and I've seen all the videos since the update so far, so I really don't know whats up with that one in particular.
Theres an odd interaction with straight flush and the 4 finger joker, if you had say a 2 a 3 a 4 and a 5 its a straight, but not a flush unless they are all the same suit, if say the 2 3 and 4 were clubs but the 5 was hearts, you can simply add any other clubs card to the hand regardless of if they matter for the straight to get straight flush, so 2 3 4 5 and king could make a straight flush even if one of the parts of the straight are not the correct suit
Sidenote the straight flush does proc that joker that gains chips when you play a straight. Although it’s not that strong until you build it up. Which once you hit the mid game you tend to win in a couple hands so if you get it before the first boss hand it’s worth it but not really after that. Super position is way better for scaling
Quick tip, although only 15 in so maybe you found it out already, with the 4 finger joker, you can do a straight flush by having 4 cards be a flush and a non flush completing the straight, so for instance Ace of diamonds King of clubs Queen of diamonds Jack of diamonds 10 of diamonds That is a valid straight flush with that joker
Just one note!! Don't forget the A-2-3-4-5 straights makes superposition actually usable 😊
I believe QKA23 also works no?
@@CaTastrophy427 it shouldn't. maybe it does but i doubt it

Sidenote the straight flush does proc that joker that gains chips when you play a straight. Although it’s not that strong until you build it up. Which once you hit the mid game you tend to win in a couple hands so if you get it before the first boss hand it’s worth it but not really after that. Super position is way better for scaling
Just so you know, an Ace, 2, 3, 4, and 5 is also a straight. It doesn't have to be Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10
Something new I learned about this game today: if your deck runs out of cards, it isn’t reshuffled, you just lose the run 💀
I'd love to see you play Oneshot! ...Well, if you haven't already. I'd recommend it for it's story but the puzzles are also interesting.
Quick tip, although only 15 in so maybe you found it out already, with the 4 finger joker, you can do a straight flush by having 4 cards be a flush and a non flush completing the straight, so for instance
Ace of diamonds
King of clubs
Queen of diamonds
Jack of diamonds
10 of diamonds
That is a valid straight flush with that joker
i really hope a peglin video comes soon, its my favorite series !!!
15:38 You still could have played a royal flush here: AD, KH, QD, JD, and any diamond counts as a straight flush with Four Fingers.
14:20 to be fair the 8 Ball is an uncommon joker and Superposition is a common
Yeah I've been wanting a royal flush build!
