I've gotten my Expert down to just under 10 kilos (under 22 pounds) I could go lighter, but its great now, I sold the take off parts to ease the pain, so fast, climbs great, forgiving, makes it easy to ride, can't stop smiling while riding it, even after 3,000 miles... makes a great race/trail bike..this is my 3rd Epic, I call it Brainless !!!!
Nice job on the video. I have the comp version. I got it down to 25 lbs but it wasn’t cheap. Probably would have been a better deal to buy this if it was available at the time. I think the S-Works frame is different. It’s 12m carbon and uses a carbon link instead of alloy.
NOT THE SAME FRAME! This is the 11m and that is their entry-level budget-friendly "cheap frame". But the S-Works is a bit lighter - more HIGH TECH frame.
Epic EVO is too heavy to be a race XC bike. Over 26 lbs with pedals. The bike definition term “trail” seems odd to me since any MTB or CX or gravel bike can ride on trails.
I rode with a guy who was on a gravel bike in my local trails and it beat the hell out of him and he couldn’t handle the technical 3-4 ft drops either. I have the standard epic and it ate the drops up however this epic evo would be much better in the technical stuff.
I had a 2022 pro and I didn’t like it. I’d rather have an epic. Evo pro his heavy. It’d have the same frame. The S-Works has a niche lighter frame. This dude is wrong. Plus last years came with sram. And where’s the swat box? The Pro came with Shimano xtr. This whole video is weird.

what were the biggest weight savings you had? I have a 23 expert and am also trying to drop some weight.
The SWorks version is Fact12 carbon though not Fact11 it saves 200ish grams plus carbon yolk on the rear shock
All sorts of stuff is wrong in this video!
The extra bead of carbon on the wheel edges is to minimize pinch-flatting. Great video otherwise. Like the close-ups.
It is a pity that there is no cheaper aluminum version

Is that about .5 lb of a different?
What did you change?
I had a 21 expert. Loved it. I just need a more all around bike but something tells me another epic evo is in my future lol
I’m curious on your opinion santa cruz blur tr 2023 vs epic evo 2023. Thank You very Much!
Same frame as the S-WORKS ? This bike has an 11mm frame and the S-Works has a 12mm frame.

I don't buy that flex stay jargon. Its a single pivot.

Seat tube too slack.
