White at the top and dark wood at the bottom will look stunning :)
I would recommend to go two-tone kitchen wrapping and marble on the backsplash, leave the countertop as it is. :)

Happy new year Kate! I love the idea of the wood cabinets on the bottom!! Nowadays almost all the kitchens I see online are white or grey with the same handles and they look so uncharacteristic. Wood is a warm, cozy, inviting material and I love how you incorporate it throughout your home! Xx

The first image of the kitchen is by far the nicest! As someone who has quartz worktops, DONT DO IT!! They stain so so easily, we left a book on the work top and it left a big blue mark, it wasn’t wet or anything and it still stained it ❤

I just did a kitchen renovation and I have a white and walnut kitchen now. Fridge and wine fridge are walnut the rest is white more or less. Some walnut details. I think it looks amazing.
So a lovely video! For the kitchen, I would do it all in the dark wood and leave the countertop as it right now, you always can do it later with the marble as a countertop. I have a white kitchen (whites cabinets) and they are quickly dirty and they change colour because the sunlight. But you do what you love the most and what you are comfortable with.
There's nothing wrong with prioritizing yourself Kate, most people don't love themselves. The matching necklace and ring are beautiful. Japanese book is intriguing - konishua - I myself received an Aztec book for Xmas. Good for you Kate.

Also I do a scrapbook for every year, it’s got headings from each month and I love documenting all the silly non instagram photos and truly in the moment and some unflattering🤣 the 2022 and 2023 one has my first positive Covid test, books from bingo, confetti from weddings and gender reveals, wristbands from festivals, tickets to the theatre, receipts from date night that sort of thing! I’m doing an epic one this year because I have some once in a lifetime holidays plans xx
I also have a page at the end dedicated to me writing all the epic stuff that went on that year and it’s truly amazing appreciating every month xx
I love the idea of doing a reverse visionboard! 😁 For the kitchen I think dark wood at the bottom and the lighter cream on top. I think it will work well with your current countertop!

Kitchen inspos are stunning but that wood sample on the lower cabinets seems to be clashing with the tones in the floor. I don't know if it te camera playing tricks or the tone of the floor seems to be slightly cool but if so you should find a wood laminate that sticks to the cool tones. Maybe something greige/grayish on the top cabinets? Your current countertop is pure white, seems quite cool too and that may feel mismatched in the end.
You can be an optimistic person and feel good about yourself kate 😊
Love the cream. I would personally go the counters but not those option. I think a creamier option with more contrasting grain to cover all of the backsplash.

white on top with wood underneath would be stunning but then I do love the kind of random layout, for eg. the fridge / taller units being wooden with the remaining ones on top to be white! P.s where is your makeup case from with the top handle ?
Great to see you again! I hope 24 is a year of great peace and love. Kate I can't tell you how much it helps to hear about your depression and the need for medication. My son and myself struggle every day. I have been going to a great counselor. Some in the past didn't work out. So I kept changing until I found a good one. I get up and the first thing I need is my med to relax. I want to get off of it, but am not at that point yet. Been in 2 different groups to. So I'm curious, we're you able to get off of them? I shouldn't ramble on but I know there are several people suffering. I would love to know before my life ends I will be able to get off. Your end result on your hair was stunning. So happy you had a wonderful holiday season. I'm anxious for spring to come and then summer. Warmth...lol. have a great week 🎉

I think updating the kitchen would increase the value of your home. At least, it does so in the US. I like the idea of making the bottom cabinets wood and having the top cabinets the creamy white color you picked out - beautiful. I'm worried that if you make the top cabinets dark as well, it might overall appear too dark, unless you want to go for a more moody style. I think it would still bring some coziness if you make the bottom cabinets the dark wood color but still bright and airy with the top cabinets being light in color. If you do go with updating the countertops, I would vote for the darker white quartz with the gold veining - it brings character. Omg my apartment is the same way with the top cabinets being high, and I'm short.
my bad, I think I meant to say updating the backsplash. Although it would be cool if you use the quartz with the gold veining for both the countertops and the backsplash. I heard quartz is very durable and there's so many options. Love how you like to hear everyone's insight. It's fun to read other's thoughts on interiors.

I vote for dark wood on top and bottom 😊 cream and brown were a thing 10+ years ago so I would feel it is dated but not yet cool again to have that. Just my opinion ☺️
We did a coffee colour on top and cream below 10 yrs ago but it really hasn’t dated at all

Hi Kate, I don't know if you have it in the UK, but you can certainly find it online for some stick-on wallpaper backsplash in marble. It looks stunningly realistic and it's very cost effective. They make the surface really easy to clean and wipe, and when you're tired of the marble, you can change it to something else. A very easy DIY to do on a day where you have nothing on :) I hope that helps.

Changing a new-build kitchen is never a good investment. It adds no value. Wait a year or two as trends change. Best to make refreshes when in the mind to sell, or getting spruced up for a let.
If the wrapping is a small cost, it is a cosmetic fun thing to do. But hold off on any expensive changes.
It might be better to see if you can install a sliding ladder to access your upper cabinets:)
