Birth Announcement 🎉 Our little Nathaniel William arrived on 27/09/20 💙 I've been watching your baby name videos since I was pregnant with my first... Elliot George. Pretty sure this little man will be our last baby but not planning on stopping watching Baby Name Mondays of course 🤣 Thanks for the inspiration SJ xxx
Ah this is amazing thank you so much for letting us know!!! I LOVE the name Nataniel So much and William is a gorgeous combination with it! HUGE CONGRATS - give him a squeeze from all of us xxxx
My birthday is the 26
My son Nathaniel Henry was born 5 weeks ago!
@@alixschneider Aww congrats! That's a gorgeous combination 💙 We loved Henry too but a close friend had already used it! It is now the name of our first borns baby doll 😂 xxx
@@justcallmejen2 love that
I’m a midwife and I forever tell my clients to watch you! I’m a huge fan 🥰
Ah that's so kind thank you Jane x
wouldn’t it be patients?
@@petraskvarc317 nope, we call them clients. For the most part they aren’t unwell!
@@laurenwelbourn9945 isn’t a client someone you charge and have some gain from (hairdressing for example)
@@petraskvarc317 no it’s someone accessing a service!
I liked the name Cove too, but now I feel it’s just too close to “COVID”. #2020problems
i like that name!
Truth. Someone I know had a little Cove in 2019 and I hope for them that it doesn't seem like she was named after Covid as she's growing up.... super unfortunate. (I can't believe people are naming their kids Covid but that's a whole other discussion)
@@missknisely there were twins in America called Covid and Corona. Why would you name your kid after a deadly virus?
My baby Cove was born in January this year (2020) and honestly I made that connection but once I mention it no one else has. I think Cove still has the natural beachy feel where as Covid definitely gives you a completely different emotional response
Cove is on my list now in 2021 and I didn't make that connection. I think after covid ends it will be old news and the next generation will hardly think about it.
I love watching these to help name my Sims 🙂
I’d love to know what names you think are American sounding.
I love this idea! Hope you do this SJ!
All names sound American when said by an American I'd have thought.
I agree! Good idea!
As an Australian, my name is always pronounced like Dah-na, which I think is the European/British way of saying my name. I go by Day-na, which I think is American. I was named after Dana Scully from the xfiles which is what I tell people to help them remember 😂
Love baby name mondays! Petition for occasional bonus baby name Wednesdays (or any other day)!
Yes I'll definitely do a special week soon! xxxx
I'm in!!
For fire names, Arden could work, it sounds a bit like ardent ( burning/on fire!). I also like Ember or Amber.
Oh yes love those thank you for adding them Louisa xxx
But Arden means high, it doesn't mean ardent.
Arden will be the name of our second baby if we have a boy. I’ve read that it means Great Forest. But I love the name regardless of the meaning.
Ember is my top girls name right now!
I found people who like the name Ember like me! 😂
Surnames for girls would be a fun list!
My aunt and I were looking at old pattern magazines and saw Skipper shorts and we both went ‘why is that actually a great name?’ And I said ‘imagine a scout and skipper?’ Some of my favourite element type names are Sailor and Prairie. And Orest (he who stands on a mountain) which is a family name. Love this list SJ! -Jules
Ahh how funny! It does make a really cute name - very similar to scout. I love Orest - wow xx
What do you think about baby girl name Terra? This name basicly means earth, is short and really strong.
Love it, sounds like Tessa but a bit more unique. However, now that i'm repeating it in my head it sounds like the first part of terrible, I don't really like that association that i have
I agree with Eline.. Maybe Tella could be an alternative?
One of my best friends is named that! She spells it like Tara, but it’s pronounced the same as Terra. I’d have it on my list if I didn’t know one personally lol
Oooh, that's my name with an extra r.💚
If she ever went to Portugal or Brazil that would be a bit weird since Terra means Earth/dirt in Portuguese haha
I think I'm a fire type from your description, which is ironic because I studied marine biology in school. Delamere captured my attention! How beautiful. Delamere and Devereaux as brothers?! Here's some names from my list that also fall into the four element categories (you can tell my preference lol):
Earth-
Alaska (great land)
Arlo (hill)
Beaumont (beautiful mountain)
Brent (hill)
Holden (the hollow in the valley)
Monroe (from the hill)
Omri (my sheaf of grain)
Peter (rock)
Terra (Earth)
Zamora (land)
Fire-
Brinley (burnt meadow)
Farrah (ironsmith)
Keegan (child of fiery one)
Rowan (red)
Air-
Auretta (light wind)
Skylark
Zephyr (west wind)
Zephyrine (west wind)
Water-
Brooklyn (pretty brook)
Devereaux (from the Eure River)
Dylan (child of the sea)
Ephyra (sea nymph)
Escott (from the cottage near the stream)
Mara (sea)
Murphy (child of sea warrior)
Rodney (island in the swift river)
Rosemarie (dew from the sea)
Cove is going to go down in popularity after Covid!
Omg Autumn rain is the best thing in the world! My partner and I both love it :) I hope I can get through with the name Jorah! It's not my favourite name but my favourite meaning for sure!
I also love the combination "Isla Demeter"
There was an artist by the name of David Delamere who made some of the most gorgeous mermaid and fairy paintings!
Ccccccxcccfccfdcccfcccfcfffffttyty yyyyy
Can you please do a chronicles of narnia baby name list (as a bonus you would have to read the books if you haven't already and they are so stunning I think you'd love them, and the names) I love the name Aslan but my partner doesn't so I would love to have other narnia ideas
I believe she have made a few videos about fairytale names/ from books as well, I'm pretty sure she have mentioned Narnia
I’m obviously biased but the name Lucy is always an option. 💕💕😂
I’m using Cove as a middle name for my son who’s due in January I absolutely love nature like names
Omg you need to do a collab with Baby Name Sunday she did a 4 elements list a couple of weeks ago and you both have amazing taste in baby names! Also loved the list, some really beautiful names! 😍
Yes I'd be down for a collab!!!
My sister is called Mara which means sea in Gaelic so thats water related!
Mara is the highest ranking goddess in Slavic culture ;) like Persephone or Hecate...winter's death, rebirth , magic and dreams ;)
Totally Scorpio sign , water energy ;)
@@shridarling i am called mara and am a water sign and scorpio in rising :))
We named our youngest Lana. Her birth was a beautiful calm hypnobirth into water, so we thought it would be fitting. She is possibly the most up and down, fieriest children I've met, so that backfired!
🤣🤣🤣
Fire: Amber/Saffron/Phoenix
Water: Pearl/Ray/Bay/Darya/Marina/Nerida/Tallulah
Air: Eira/Aura/Sky/Gale
Earth: Lily/Daisy/Branch/Rose/Arlo/Bryn/Clay
Ignacio reminds me of a Harry Potter spell which makes me love it more 😂
I actually love the idea of using Ember as a name too, it's definitely unusual but I love it
Can add another one for Earth: Archer and Atlas ☺
@@sarahallen2887 or Emberly
Clayton ? Clay for short ?
Baby girl (I had two boys first) came in August, at 36 weeks. I named her Dorthy Leigh(dorthy spelled with one o because that's how my grandma spelled it). We call her Dottie. She joins her brothers Kellen Shayne and Ronan Dean. ❤️
I think ember would be a beautiful fire name, like a more unique version of amber
Beautiful names!
Will we ever get Welsh baby names? 🏴❤️😘 you’ve done all of the uk apart from Wales. My baby girl is due in Feb and I’m really struggling! 🤩😘
Her most recent video about gothic names has a lot of Welsh names
@@monkiram I watch all her videos religiously. But she’s done Scottish and Irish etc be nice to have a specific welsh name video 🙂
You need to go to Vermont! All Sound of Music fans should visit the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. I saw some of Maria’s grandchildren and great grands. So fun.
Omg yes I DOOOO need to go!! Can't wait to travel xxx
We had our baby last month and called her Talia, meaning dew of heaven/God.
Loved the ideas of morning dew and that misty, early sunrise feeling!
Talia is such a beautiful name!
I love that name! I want to call my wee girl Talia because she’s our rainbow but my partner isn’t keen 😢
De la mer in French actually means of the sea! Océane in French is a female form of ocean, I think it’s really pretty!
One of my friends from Saint Pierre et Miquelon is named Océane and I fell in love with it I even would make it Océanna which I find so pretty, I love French derived names
Guthrie is the last name of one of the main characters in the show Black Sails. The character, Eleanor Guthrie is the beautiful, determined daughter of Richard Guthrie, the wealthiest Black Marketeer in the Bahamas, and chief fence/supplier for the many pirate crews of New Providence Island, Nassau. Eleanor Guthrie was left by her father to oversee all his dealing with the pirates of Nassau. It's an amazing show with well known names such as Charles Vane in the story and I recommend anyone to watch it, especially those who have played Assassins Creed: Black Flag. The show is available on Hulu and Prime.
I looooove this list! I also like how you give the personality types for each element! 💛 Loki is probably gaining in popularity because in the Thor movies Loki is Thor’s brother!
Idalia and Guthrie are my favorite!
I feel like Idalia would be a great alternative to the popular Isabelle 🥰
I’d love a Sanskrit baby names list. And a name list with dh and ae in the name! I like those letter combos!
My sons name is Crimson Keith he was born in June and we wanted a name as bright as him lol it suits him too well.
For earth, there's Olivine which is a type of green mineral that makes up the mantle :)
I love you videos, I discovered them last month and I am watching them constantly! I would love to see a welsh inspire list or a 'timeless classics' video 😊 hope you are keeping well!
The Capricorn in me wants to be a fire type, but the ravenclaw in me wanted to be a water type !
🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰 totally relate! I did a Harry Potter names list last year! Xx
Similarly, I like to think I'm an earth type (Hufflepuff), but I'm actually a water type! (Cancer)
Luckily mine align...I’m a Scorpio/Water type/Ravenclaw!
Fun fact: Ravenclaw is actually associated with air while slytherin is associated with water. The clearest representation of this is when you think of where their common rooms are (ravenclaws high in a tower and slytherins under the lake) and it also was on pottermore.
Based on some of my favorite names, I really like fire and wood lol
I really like Terra/Terah for Earth names.. similar to some pronunciations of Tara so its not 'too' weird.
I love watching your channel and love baby names so much. My husband and I are going through infertility treatments and watching your channel keeps me sane! Keep being you love! 💞💞
Sending you positive energy xxxx
The Greek version of Vesta is Hestia, which I also think is a beautiful name!
Delamere forest is in Cheshire, it's a gorgeous forest with a big lake in the middle!
I love these Mondays highlight of my day love these names ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much Rhianna - I love making these lists xx
Deora (pronounced Jorah) is the Gaelic word for teardrops!

Blythe for a boy! Interesting!
Absolutely love Kadence!
I know same you can spell it with a c to and ac cute nickname could be Kady
My name is Zara!
@@Minnie-nf8yc you could even use the nickname KC or Kacey
My OBGYN’s name is Sunny Glenn and I absolutely love it! When I saw her name on the list of providers at the hospital I was going to go to for my delivery (obgyns deliver most babies in the USA) I literally was like “that’s who I want to deliver my child!” 😂 I’m such a name nerd and her personality totally lived up to her gorgeous name!
Loved this video sooo much!!💕
Here below some (not-required😂) italian names for each category:
Water: Marina, Delfina (both for girls)
Air: Azzurra (girls), Celeste (could be both), Aurora (girls)
Earth: Gaia (girls) Pietro (boys)
Fuoco: Aurelia (girls) Leone (boys)
Baci da Milano💕
Wow these are AMAZING! Thanks so much for adding them caterina xxx
You’re right! I’m an air sign and I LOVE Noelani and Fei ( what beautiful meanings as well).
Fei literally means fly
Top of my list is Violet for a little girl and Sullivan for a boy 😊❤️
LOOOOOOVE THESE 💗💗
you used my name”enya” for a fire sign and my zodiac is also a fire sign😭
I’m also a pisces but you need to know your whole birth chart to determine your element. Even though Pisces would obviously be water, considering my Moon and Rising sign I’m Fire.
Audra is in my list and my husband surprisingly loves it too!
I went to school with an Audra. I think it's a pretty name, too!
And I love Akash. It's the name of one of the main characters in a Bollywood movie, Dil Chahta Hai, which is one of my favorites!
I would like to add Sulis to the water name list. Sulis was the goddess of water who was worshipped in the West of England. When the Romans came Sulis became Sulis Minerva, but Sulis was originally her name.
Artemis is a good name for Earth. She is the goddess of the wilderness and of the hunt and she is very earthy.
There's a Delamere Forest in Cheshire
I’m from right by there, so it’s funny hearing that as a name xx
Hey! I met a Tana today!
Cove is pretty but I hate that it sounds like COVid.
I would love to see an updated boys names for girls video! I’ve been crushing so hard on Sawyer, Parker, and Wyatt for girls but would love to hear others!
I’m a Pisces and definitely a water type too! ☺️
You're right about Skipper. Barbie's sister. I can get behind all your names typically SJ but you lost me at Skyline 😉😂
🤣
Visit Vermont! It's like going back in time; very historic, clean, & beautiful scenery
I really like Ignacio or Ignacia.
Some suggestions:
Heath means someone who lived at, on, or by, a moor or heath.
Aidan means little fire
keanu means cool breeze over the mountains
Anahita is the Old Persian form of the name of an Indo-Iranian cosmological figure venerated as the divinity of "the Waters" .
I know someone name Anahita its a great one!
I love Noelani 😍 such a cute meaning
Wren , storm, stormer, blaze, ice, Aquarius, flame, cloud, cumulus, cirus, ocean, oceana, rain, rayna, stone, crystal, oakley , Oakland, cedar, willow, cove, bear, hawke, raven, eagle, trunks, sage, saffron, saturna, Jupiter, mercury, Neptune, psodien brooks, banks, lake, brooke, lakeleigh, sunny , coral, navy qnd zeppelin
I never reqlly thought about linking names to signs and elements, but I love the idea!
I am a Taurus and I really do associate the most with the Earth sign! And now I think about it, my name also fits with the sign of Earth!
Great video!
Delamere actually directly translates to “of the mother” in French (de la mere) not forest of the ocean!
De la mer means of the sea, I presume this is the origin of the name
My first boy has a water name.. Dylan. It means son of the sea. My 2nd and 3rd boys have earth names. Oliver, means olive tree, and Silas, means man of the forest.
SKYLINE - BEFOR YOU USE THE NAME please know Skyline (Chili) is the name of a popular fast-food chain restaurant in the US Midwest (specifically Cincinnati) it sells hot dogs, pasta, and chili XD if your little person comes to this part of the world at some point they may have some fun or challenges haha
Farren could fit this list for earth also, it means little wanderer
Love this name😍
Ahh this video is so for me!! My name is Skylar AND I live in Vermont!! It’s absolutely gorgeous here
I love the name Kai as a water name!
We actually named our second daughter (born in 2019) Acacia Blossom, but we used/use the Portuguese/Spanish pronunciation A-ka-sia. I love that I’ve yet to bump into or know of another Acacia!
Oh my goodness I have LOVED the name Acacia for years, specifically if I named a daughter that, she would be Shiloh Acacia
Ooooh, I love that combo! I have the name Salem on my list, it has the same meaning as Shiloh (Peace)!
My favourites with Water energy : Cordelia, Esmeray , Evana, Pearl , Mara 🌊
For anyone considering the name 'Moana' please take note of the correct pronunciation here maoridictionary.co.nz/search?&keywords=moana
Having lived in NZ for 2 years I'm quite passionate about correct Māori pronunciation and moana is the Māori translation of ocean. It's not said with a short 'a' sound, it's a long sound that sounds more like 'arr'. Such a beautiful name and obviously a popular one in NZ, but not so much in the UK!
I was not expecting my name to be in there hahahah, honestly ive had compliments on my name since i was little by strangers and teachers and friends and family
I love that you have Vermont on here. I live in Vermont. The Green Mountains are a mountain range here. Our weather is similar to Germany. I have not met anyone named Vermont, but we do have some town names that people use as first names. I'm not sure I really like Vermont for a person's name though.
We have a news caster in the US whose last name is Guthrie, which was the first thing I thought of. I don't know if she has made international fame for you to have heard of her that way. Savannah Guthrie.
I LOVE skyla! However a recent popular IUD in USA is called skyla, it's similar to the Mirena. Why do these companies have to use names?! 😭
I love element associated names, would definitely watch a second part :)
As an alternative to Lana I would also add Xana - the name comes from Asturian mythology and she is described as a creature of extraordinary beauty believed to live in fountains, rivers, waterfalls or forested regions with pure water.
I really enjoy Delamere - my favourite from this video!
Oh I love this so much - I have an earth based spiritual practice so for me this is so aligned 😊 😘 Xxx
Oooh wow I love the idea of that xxx
I know this is an odd request - but I'm wondering if the community can help us out. I work in cat rescue and we recently rescued a cat who is a serious fighter & survivor. We'd love to give him a name that reflects his fight. Any ideas?😊
Griffin
Best of luck with him! 💙 Any of these maybe:
Ajax - warrior
Callan - battle/rock
Gunther - battle warrior
Finian - handsome warrior
Nakoa - warrior
Bruno
Cayden literally means great fighter
Jill The Spy I love the name Cayden for a cat. What an awesome meaning
Loved the theme of this list.
Two fire signs about to have a water sign 🥰
I’ve always loved the name Hestia, who’s the Greek goddess of the hearth. I don’t really know what a good nick name would be but I’ve always thought it was so beautiful.
My friend used the name Terrain for her baby, it literally means earth. Middle name Michael meaning angel, she loved the whole earth angel vibe 😊
Ooh, also love Winslet for a water name. That's just a personal love of mine :)
You have the sweetest voice!!!
I'm Sagittarius and have always been confused by my sign because it's a fire sign while my animal is the horse. Maybe it makes sense I have anxiety issues; My sign is fire and a horse, horses are terrified of fire.
I'm also a Pieces too! ( 03.03)
Napoleon reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite who is great in his own way, and Tana reminds me of Tana Mongeau but I liked it before... and fire in german is Feuer, and burnt is verbrannt/verbrennt (though it depends on context) and Lana is like Lana Del Rey and Lana Clarkson, and Skipper reminds me of the one from GIlligan's Island heh and "de la mer" is "from the sea" in french (:
I love
Earth: Gaia & Mason
Air: Sky/Skyla (without the R) for girl and Skyler sounds more like a for a boy name to me, but I don't think it's a unisex name, could be wrong though.
Fire: Enya & Loki
Water: Moana & Ocean which you didn't mention but one of my faves ever. Also like River a bit.
Delamere can be broken down to de la mere, which litterally translated to of the sea!
This is really interesting! Keep up the work! :)
I decided Audra suits water better than air as a stronger force but also flows. Or an Earth for that stable strong name. Some very interesting names here! ❤
I started making a list and I'm 13 too! I probably won't have a baby for like 13 more years, but why not?
Oakley is a gorgeous earth name. I think it’s growing in popularity in the US, I’m not sure about the UK though...
Waiting for the day I hear my name on a list! My name is Marin pronounced (Muh-rin), I believe it means “of the sea” or something close to that. I am Aquarius so it fits perfect! I’ve always gotten loads of compliments on my name and I would love to hear what you could find on the meaning!
Actually my name means wind in Basque/ Euskera, an idiom of the north of Spain! Most people don’t pronounce it well bc the h doesn’t sound, it is pronounced like ai̯.ˈse.a (Haizea) ☺️. It is pretty uncommon even in Spain hahahah.
Q nombre mas lindo 😊
Love this video ☺️💕
There is also the Greek God of the Hearth, Hestia
I am just a 24 year old single lady, but adore your video's, also recommend them to friends all the time. Hopefully one day will need them myself ❤
Another Earth name is Annona/Anona, which means harvest. Another alternative to Skylar is Skylark.
Hi! Where can I find the water quiz you mentioned in the video?
I have an Ember x
I’ve always really loved the name Demeter, but I could never be brave enough to use it 😅
It's definitely a brave choice! It's so interesting though x
The name Demetria means “follower of Demeter” and could be an alternative choice for the name. It maybe wouldn’t seem quite as unusual because it is Demi Lovato’s full name. Demeter is definitely a brave choice!
I know a Demelza ❣️
swneindanke how do you pronounce that it looks really pretty
Samual minute 3:00 on the video
Mason I fell in love with more than a year ago, I'd love for a son. But in France : Mason is a the sound not ae sorry I don't know how to explain and for the s is more like a z sound.
With my fiance we'd love Mason or even more Mayson but in France it's very like maison a house in French.
Complited but so so so in love with this name 😍
I was surprised when you didn't say Tara or Terra for earth. Also Rocky. For air I know a Skylie. River for water. And incidentally I know siblings that have those names.lol
