I bought this shoe and i have run a session in it once. I’m happy with it, but it’s not a general purpose do it all running shoe. It’s annoying that the outsole does not fully cover the midsole. It’s light and good on intervals, but still not as bouncy or as versatile as the invincible 2. Apart from the outsole issue, the shoe clearly is a peg turbo. It has ‘Pegasus turbo’ embossed in to the outsole and the inside of the tongue says ‘2018’ ‘2024’. Fit and the insole (i compared them) is almost identical to the turbo 2 (tho. @@ucatani The Pegasus 38 is only used for casual walking. The Puma DN2 and Adidas Adios Pro 3 are miles better for running. The adios pro 3 is ageing like fine wine.

First.....awesome t-shirt! Literally just ordered these, been running on the Pegasus trial 4's so I'll be interested in feeling/seeing the difference with a road shoe
Everything sounds good to me except the price point. Invincible 3s all over the place for under 100 with a million colorways. As much as I love zoomx and I want this shoe, I'm waiting for the sale prices to hit. I fully expect to find these around 100 in a few months once they drop another 25 colorways and saturate the market as Nike tends to do.
They had a pair in 2020 or 2021 that used glued up leftovers of zoomX and à socks knit upper if it we'rent sor hard to put on I would've kept it can't remember the Peg edition name something like element or so
lately I got really skeptical with nike, with how they engineer the forefoot. pegs 37 n 38, had that nice big air unit under the toes, amd invincible 1 n 2 also felt very responsive. but pegs 39-40 aswell as invincible 3, they all feel "dead" in the forefoot. then you have so much foam in the heel. so I dont know if I should spend more money on that garbage TBH. I hear so many people complaining about the newer line of nike, feeling more dead in the forefoot than ever.
I preferred the Turbo name. Plus sounds like a bigger, fatter runner. I guess that is a good winter colorway. Enough infra red to stand out but blue and black don't get as dirty as lighter colors would.
Wow - a nice shoe that I may have to take a look at since my days of invincible run 2. Where do these fit in between owning the SB2 and Nimbus 26 - can they fit into the rotation? Still racing in the ASICS Metaspeed sky and just did a mile and 5k pb in them, but as you mentioned, they show some wear and need to "baby" them. Wish I was 18 again 😂!
My Brooks Hyperion Tempo's glue has expired while my Boston 9 is close to retiring. I'm looking for a speedier shoe low to the ground feel same as the above, would this be a good replacement? I have max stack shoes for other days but I really love the lower stack feel.
@@EDDBUD Thanks, I'll probably look at other shoes. I borrowed a Takumi sen 10 and liked it but not the same feel I'm looking for. I do have a deviate nitro 2 but would like to alternate to a low stack, firm but flexible on the forefoot.
@@EDDBUD If I can't find these old school like shoes, I might get these for the looks. Does this fit like the invincible 3? I'm a us9.5 in those but a us10 on some.
Regarding the comment about comparing the dollar and pound prices, you always pay a premium in your country compared to the US (some people are fooled into thinking the difference is down to the different VAT/taxes, NHS, whatever, but anyone with decent math can tell that's a small part of the difference, you're just being taken advantage off, plain and simple!). This has been the case for more than 20 years, across many products, I remember that from cameras back in the day before everybody started using their mobiles. So not only the UK does exactly what the US tells it to do when it comes to wars, etc, you also pay a premium for their products, it's a great deal I tell you!
Excuse my rant btw, let's leave politics aside! Thanks for the review, appreciated! Question, does it bottom out on the forefoot? Thinking of how soft Zoom X is and how even the invincible was almost bottoming out, I guess this does?
@@EDDBUD I see. I've also heard people trying to explain this with "it's a smaller market", etc, but truth is companies charge whatever they can get away with. They think the English will pay more for the same thing, so they suggest a higher price. Something similar is happening with On Running. They charge their own people (the Swiss) a hefty premium, over say the Germans next door for the same model. Just go to their Swiss website and then the German, or even Greek for that matter. Take the Cloudsurfer Next, it's 200CHF for Swiss customers and 160EUR (about 150CHF) for the rest of Europe. So a 33% premium for the Swiss (and the Swiss VAT is the lowest at 8%). I guess On thinks "those Swiss have more money so they should pay more". Meanwhile other products like electronics are the same price here (in Switzerland) as everywhere else. I refuse to buy any of their shoes even if I'm occasionally tempted (they are designed a couple of kms from where I live).
I'm very tempted by this shoe but I can't avoid some gravelsections on my runs so I am worried about the exposed section of midsole. I'll try to wait for some long term reviews. #impulsecontroltraining.
7:45 I was listening to the video without watching as I was busy with an email. When that fly buzz came up I took my headset off and waved my hand past my ears to get rid of the little buggers :)
Believe in the Run is just simply wrong. This shoe isn't really supposed to compete with those high tech carbon plated trainers, just a fun simple fast shoe waiting for a workout.
Edd, questions: 1. Which reasonably priced options, non carbon plate, is the best training and racing option for all distances? 2. Which carbon plated shoe is the best for heal strikers?
Looks amazing! But in a shoe rotation with invincible for the long easy, vomero 17 for the shorter and a speed shoe for intervals day where does this one fit in? Doesn’t seem a full on speed shoe for the tempo days? Some of the conclusion even sounds like I could swap out the invincible ? Weren’t as big a fan of the 3 as of the invincible 2
Sometimes you need the strobel board for structural integrity. Maybe the durometer is lower than the turbo or Nike learned from the turbo that people were bottoming out ( obviously not the Buddster, His Buddness, or uh, Budder, or El Budderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing)

How weird that Turbo is written on the bottom. Could it be that the soles were manufactured before the marketing team insisted on renaming it?

@@ucatani The Pegasus 38 is only used for casual walking. The Puma DN2 and Adidas Adios Pro 3 are miles better for running. The adios pro 3 is ageing like fine wine.
Review the Diadora Gara Carbon!
Edd - no no no we don't want any rain! Let's wait until October at least.
Maybe just a bit? 🤣👍🏼
@@EDDBUD only overnight then 🤣
@@ianstyring9602 No joke it rained on my run this morning. Boiling hot and rain. Nuts weather right now
I tried these recently in store and found them more comfort than peg 41 put them on my next shoe list
Seems like a nice shoe. Hope there will be a wide version. What kind of Turnatble and phono stage do you own?
I have various mixing devices. Flex 10 and a budget project preamp. Pioneer plx1000 and a technics 1210 I rebuilt. I had 2 x 1200 but had to sell them some years back. Regret it on a daily basis.
Sounds promising! 🫡
First.....awesome t-shirt!
Literally just ordered these, been running on the Pegasus trial 4's so I'll be interested in feeling/seeing the difference with a road shoe
My son loves that shirt too. Though he doesn’t know what the various media are 🤣👍🏼
Everything sounds good to me except the price point. Invincible 3s all over the place for under 100 with a million colorways. As much as I love zoomx and I want this shoe, I'm waiting for the sale prices to hit. I fully expect to find these around 100 in a few months once they drop another 25 colorways and saturate the market as Nike tends to do.
The invincible is rarely discounted here. At 140 with the discount it’s a banger.
Looks like a winner.
This might be weird to say, but I like the sound of these shoes on the ground :)
Yes they make a nice foamy thud
Looks like a pebax-eva blend used in the midsole
No. It’s full zoomx
They had a pair in 2020 or 2021 that used glued up leftovers of zoomX and à socks knit upper if it we'rent sor hard to put on I would've kept it can't remember the Peg edition name something like element or so
That was the Pegasus turbo next nature. 2022 reviewed on the channel. It was terrible.
@EDDBUD yes exactly- the glued sole sucked bad but the upper material was very nice and soft
Auto turbo boost with the outsole 🏃♂️💨💨💨
Dankeschön 🙏🏼 Well, the Turbo Next Nature was a no go and no work shoe for me. The toebox was so narrow 😅 I am curious about this one.
Packing up a bouncy castle 🏰
🤣👍🏼
lately I got really skeptical with nike, with how they engineer the forefoot. pegs 37 n 38, had that nice big air unit under the toes, amd invincible 1 n 2 also felt very responsive.
but pegs 39-40 aswell as invincible 3, they all feel "dead" in the forefoot. then you have so much foam in the heel. so I dont know if I should spend more money on that garbage TBH. I hear so many people complaining about the newer line of nike, feeling more dead in the forefoot than ever.
Doesn’t feel like that at all on foot
I preferred the Turbo name. Plus sounds like a bigger, fatter runner. I guess that is a good winter colorway. Enough infra red to stand out but blue and black don't get as dirty as lighter colors would.
Yeah that’s why I chose this colour
Bowling shoe ...I like that lol.
Could do the trick. Though it’s more a Jack of many trades than a master of specifically higher paces runs
@@EDDBUD Thanks, I'll probably look at other shoes. I borrowed a Takumi sen 10 and liked it but not the same feel I'm looking for. I do have a deviate nitro 2 but would like to alternate to a low stack, firm but flexible on the forefoot.
@@Deathcultify Yeah the sen isn’t that flexible.
Guitars and amp. Massive premium too
@@EDDBUD I see.
Would you recommend for a 10k?.... I liked doing my 10ks in the streakfly, but doesnt like getting an update soon....
Don’t see why not
Sounds similar to the Novablast? A slightly uptempo comfortable shoe that can do 10-25kms with a slightly quicker than steady pace?
Doesn’t feel as rigid or controlling as the novablast. Bit more squashy and fun
@@EDDBUD might pick them up as we move towards spring down here in Tasmania.
Puma has smokin looks like springs sponge like
I like the colour of them looks very nice
Superb version. Really stand out but not.
I think nike finally answered our prayers!!
It’s the best Nike daily right now
What is your choice between Superblast 2 and Pegasus Turbo? Thank you!
Very different shoes. More a long run max stack shoe in the Superblast 2. The Pegasus a little more versatile.
We all know it's a turbo! Good work as usual. Almost tempted. Almost...
@@waleedsulaiman651 🤣
@@EDDBUD I was like WTF 🤣🤣🤣
Believe in the Run is just simply wrong. This shoe isn't really supposed to compete with those high tech carbon plated trainers, just a fun simple fast shoe waiting for a workout.
Bang on
You’re correct the fact it’s 180 is the crime I feel
Edd, questions: 1. Which reasonably priced options, non carbon plate, is the best training and racing option for all distances? 2. Which carbon plated shoe is the best for heal strikers?
Superblast 2. I kid. It’s too costly to be a lower priced shoe. This is good, or the sl2. Check out the magnify nitro 2 also
Looks amazing!
It’s a lower stack invincible. But can handle faster paces too
Not for me, but I must admit that this is a cracking looking shoe 👍
It’s a picture!
How might you compare these to something like a Mach 6 or Rebel 4?
Not tried the Mach 6. The rebel 4 didn’t fit too well. Better upper here and outsole. The zoomx is a bit more responsive.
The invincible v1 had a partial board around the edge and that was squash city
Still the Speed for me Ed
🥇
Thanks!
No problem!
Would you run a marathon in this or the vapor fly?
It’s not a race shoe.
I don’t understand why Nike believes this shoe is accurately priced alongside the adizero Takumi Sen 10. The brand also announced the new pricing model for Jordan brand - Yikes.
It’s a great looking shoe, and it seems to run well.
✌🏽💙👟
has that 90s colour vibe, could even be a bit ACG-esq!
i would like to see a long term to the durability
It looks really nice
It does!
Noice I had switched away from Nike but I might give these a try.
