To determine ABV divide the volume of pure alcohol by the total volume of the beverage. So if you add 100 mL of simple syrup to 750 mL of 38% alcohol: (750*.38 = 285) / (750 + 100 = 850) 285 / 850 = 0.3352 = 33.52% ABV

Another excellent video. And the idea of adding the flavoring (leaves and zest) to the sugar and water to extract more of the essential oils is wonderful. I am currently making a chocolate orange liqueur - using about 1 L of spirit (about 63% alcohol by volume) and 4 oz (about 100 g) of roasted cocoa nibs and about 350 g of orange zest. I had not planned on adding the zest and nibs to the sugar and water I will be adding after the flavors have been extracted, but after watching your video that is exactly what I will do. Thank you.

    Hello! Great recipe as always!
Just one thing, it seems like the calculator link in the description might be wrong, it just leads to and error 404 page in the website

@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato you could probably make oleoscaccarum. Zest mixed with dry sugar for a couple days and then mix with water and strain.
