Italy is truly the world's most beautiful country. It flaunts the most inspiring cultural treasures and magnificent scenery, which you cannot find anywhere in the world. Venice, Florence and Rome with their diverse architecture, Tuscany with its rolling hills, vineyards and snow-peaked mountains will mesmerize you.
@@RyanShirley The upper classes from all Europe came to Italy for the "Grand Tour" and the country has always inspired artists, musicians etc. Not just Shakespeare, but many more
Ryan repeats the phrase "One of my favorite places" so many times, and yet we just swallow our words and don't care - each one of these places look just majestic! Thank you!!!
I was fortunate enough to live on Sicily for a while, and it stole a big piece of my heart. The scenery, the culture and people, the food...just EVERYTHING was incredible.
@@RyanShirley that is a tough question because each area has it’s own unique charm. I think the Catania province would have to be my favorite for long term simply due to the fact that there is such a great mix of things available. There’s large cities and small towns, beaches , and of course Etna for a “mountain” feel with atv-ing and hiking, etc. I haven’t felt more at home anywhere else I’ve been so far purely because of the people. We road tripped the island a few times and never met a stranger. People often overlook Sicily due to the mainland being the primary attractor for tourists, but its history and unique culture are definitely worth a visit.
As an italian I really enjoyed this video, very well done and informative with excellent drone takes. Of course the list could be much longer, specially about cities, but I think you gave a quite precise idea about what can be visited in Italy, more than most videos that can be found on UA-cam. Thank you for reminding us and showing everybody how beautiful our country is. Good Job!
@@RyanShirley I'm from Rome, but I've visited most of the places shown in the video. On the other hand, you probably know Dolomites much better than I do. Anyway it was a pleasure to see in a video like this many places that aren't usually very popular and known abroad, like Ponza and Tremiti islands. Keep up the good work!
I do not understand why all programs about Italy, including Francesco Da Mosto, who should know better ignore the greenest region of Italy, with two national parks where one can find bears , wolves and golden eagles and the highest mountain in the Appenine, the Gran Sasso. 2912m unspoiled Abruzzo, WHY!
As an Italian living in New Zealand I thank you for making this beautiful video. I haven't been home for 3 years now and your video gave me goosebumps and filled my eyes with tears.. Thank you for showing how beautiful Italy is ❤
I was born in Pozzuoli, raised in Puerto Rico (military). Have had the blessing to visit Italy again twice, of course to explore more of my birth city, Naples. I would totally move there! My favorite: Amalfi Coast, Sicily and Florence, so far. Planning to go back to explore more like Tuscany, Lake Como, Milan, Italian Riviera, and hopefully one day, the whole country. Thank you for this helpful video!
Thanks Ryan for this excellent quality video! And thanks for reminding the world that Italy is much more than typical Rome or Venice. Literally beauty is everywhere and a lifetime is probably not enough to visit it all. Sono fiero del mio paese!
Ooooooh, finalmente uno che non si lamenta!! Sei un grande!! Anch'io sono fiero di essere italiano e non vorrei essere in nessun altro posto al mondo se non qui.
Italy is such a beautiful and unique country...Marche is also worth a visit: Urbino, Ascoli Piceno, Riviera del Conero, Frasassi Caves, Parco di San Bartolo and plenty of beautiful villages and monastries dating back to the Middle Ages.

I remember that time we drove over the Stelvio Pass with 3 children in a manual car! We were trying to cross into Italy (Lake Como) from Austria ( Imst) and realized we forgot our passports! Worried about getting checked at the Swiss border, we ended up taking a mountain road across 3 countries, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable and scenic drives we've ever done in our life! Will probably do it again but definitely without the kids next time. 😆

I'm living in Siena for 5 months now to study here and I absolutely love it. I've had the opportunity to visit many stunning places in Italy like you. I hope to see many more places in the future
Geographically Italy is a long peninsula in the middle of a big pool called Mediterranean Sea, with a well defined shape. Back then it was strategical for everyone to own a place in this piece of land, so lot of moneys and lot of culture made this place totally outstanding. Every 50 Kms in Italy there's something cool to see, specially in very small and traditional villages. Fantastic water and Unesco Mountains (Dolomites are defined by climbers the most beautiful mountains in the world) makes the rest
I met an Italian gentleman in the late 1980s on a flight from Rio to NY, and he said something I will always remember. He mentioned many Americans mentioned to him how "decadent" Italy was, and his answer inevitably was -"you are right, Italy is decadent, and has been 'decadent' for 2,000 years. However, can your country be decadent for 2,000 years and be as great as Italy is now"?
He must be illiterated. Italy was EVERYTHING but decadent in the last 2000 years: Medieval age, age of the city states (Comuni), Maritime republics, age of the discoveries and sailors, Humanism, Renaissance, Baroque etc. etc. going on producing the most astounding culture in Europe both in quantity and quality. They "invented" western music, the modern theatre, Opera, modern science (Galileo), the modern painting etc. etc. etc.
@@hazhoner5727decadent is related to Italy being old and left untouched...and somehow still standing....we don't make our city pretty for tourists...we just leave them as they are.. in Greece i felt that most villages looked fake.just saying😅

I have been to Italy twice and watched dozens of videos on Italy. Many go into detail on specific towns or cities but this is the absolute best overview of the country. Period. Great job, Ryan.
Hi Ryan, This video is just amazingly beautiful I was there just before covid 19 as part of a tour from Greece with 45 Greeks 1 American and me 1 Mexican American and in 9 days I had one of the best times of my life . I can not wait to go back there on my own this time and rent a car my favorite city has to be Florence as well although I loved Rome, The Vatican and wonderful memories from every place we visited . I honestly never imagine there was so much more to see until I sow your video. Thank you.
I'm half Italian on my mothers side and I have always wanted to go there. My sister and mother have been but I haven't made it yet. This is an amazing video. A little overwhelming.
No one ever talks about it, but if you are in italy, you should stop in Montifollonico, very close to montepluciano and Torrita di siena. Montefollonico is a small medieval town based within the walls of a small castle. It has stunning views, great food, and history. It is my personal gem of italy. Every time I visit, I make sure to go to montefollonico.
Ryan, it's so hard to make a top 100 places list of Italy if you're not italian, and you did a great job. Thanks for sharing this. I've been many many times in Val Gardena (Trentino Alto Adige), a place that I've deeply loved since I was a child. It's the valley between Seceda, Sassolungo and Passo Gardena. You have definetly been blessed to see Seceda in that way, with those evocative clouds. It's always an amazing place, but that was literally out of the world.
I'm an Italian living in Italy and working in tourism. Italy is amazing and so rich of places like those you mentioned. The stunning fact is that you mention just a relatively small part of the Italian beauties! Try Trieste in the east, Bergamo and Brescia, Cremona in Lombardy, try Marmore Waterfalls or the Gran Sasso Mountain, or even Orvieto, Gaeta, Pesaro, Elba Island, Mount Argentario and many other places! What I'm saying is that you made a great job in explaining how rich of spots my country is, thank you! Come back again! And thanks, my country needs support!
Wonderful video! I also suggest other places to see in Italy: the Islands of Venetian lagoon (Murano, Burano, Pellestrina), Cortina d’Ampezzo, Padova, Vicenza, Treviso and the Ville Venete, Ravenna (Capital of Roman Empire), the beautiful city of Trieste, the National Park of Gran Sasso, Sirmione, Salò, Peschiera del Garda, Porto Rotondo in Sardinia, Alghero, Mount Conero and Marche Region, Siena the city of Palio… but it’s impossibile to continue because the most of italian cities are beautiful
How much beauty in such a small country, incredible! Unfortunatly you skipped the beautiful Le Marche region (ranked second in the world in places to visit for the Lonely Planet guide in 2020). On your next trip I recommend you to visit it, there are wonderful places such as: Urbino, the Conero Riviera, the Frasassi Caves, Loreto, the Sibillini mountains, the Lame Rosse, Ascoli Piceno. A correction on Montepulciano, because 99% of tourists get this wrong: Montepulciano does not produce Montepulciano wine, Montepulciano is a grape grown mainly in Abruzzo, the main wine of Montepulciano is called Nobile di Montepulciano and the grape used is Sangiovese. A hug.
@@bethkellum4308 i'm glad to hear that! This list is awesome but there are still so so many other places of interest, either nature or history, art, architecture, for real there is beauty everywhere and that's amazing
Spent holidays in Venice twice when I was a teenager. Such a unique place ❤ 12 years ago I went to Austria but stopped in Italy for the night. I visited Milan and the amazing Certosa di Pavia. Before leaving Italy to continue my journey to Austria via Switzerland, I took some time to have a picnic by the water ( lake Como ). Now my dream is to visit Tuscany 🇮🇹

When you are around Verona I suggest you to pass a day in Mantua (Lombardy region), one of the main centres of the Renaissance, you can find the Basilica di Sant'Andrea, Palazzo Te and the Duchal Palace of the Gonzaga family (the 6th largest palace in Europe). In the Veneto region there are countless cultural wonders like Vicenza, Padua, Treviso, Bassano del Grappa, Valeggio sul Mincio, the walled towns of Cittadella and Montagnana. I hope these names can give you some ideas for the next destinations. Good job!

I sure love your videos! Our family (also from Utah) moved to Stuttgart, Germany last year for three years and are trying to see as much of Europe as possible while we are here. We watch all your videos for vacation ideas and you haven’t let us down! We love the outdoors and water and your videos are right up our alley. The Dolomites might be my all time favorite, especially backpacking thru Tre Cime, hitting the via ferratas, and staying in huts. In the last 12 months we’ve hit Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria, Israel, Poland, Czech, Italy, France, Morocco, and Spain. My sister lives in Naples, so we’ve been loving trying to see as much of Italy as possible, just got back from a crazy New Years Eve down there! Keep the videos coming, they are fantastic!

Love Italy! I’ve been to Florence, Rome, Umbria & Perugia, and Assisi. North of Assisi is Gubbio where I got to see what is called The Running Of The Candles. You’ll have to look it up.
Hi Ryan, I'm from Torino and I loved so much your video. I see you are really passionate about nature, history and culture, fortunately in Italy we have a lot of them. If you like mountain wilderness I suggest you the Gran Paradiso National Park (between Aosta Valley an Piedmont), the Monviso Reserve of byosphere (Piedmont) and Val Grande National Park, always in Piedmont (the wider wilderness area in the Alps). Instead if you want to visit more italian lakes you can't miss Lago Trasimeno in Umbria and Lago di Bolsena in Lazio, both volcanic lakes with several medieval villages on their banks. In Piedmont (my region) you can find a lot of small historic little towns like Alba, Saluzzo, Mondovì, Asti, Cuneo. All these towns are in hilly areas with lovely landscapes, wonderful food and wine ... Thanks a lot for your love for Italy and for your wonderful and incredible video.

I was fortunate enough to live on Sicily for a while, and it stole a big piece of my heart. The scenery, the culture and people, the food...just EVERYTHING was incredible.
Wow that’s amazing you lived there. I agree with you about the food, some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! What part of Sicily was your favorite?
🇮🇹 absolutely wonderful country 💚🤍❤️
It is so special 🇮🇹
As an italian I really enjoyed this video, very well done and informative with excellent drone takes. Of course the list could be much longer, specially about cities, but I think you gave a quite precise idea about what can be visited in Italy, more than most videos that can be found on UA-cam. Thank you for reminding us and showing everybody how beautiful our country is. Good Job!
Thanks so much Marco for your kind words! What part of Italy are you from?
@@RyanShirley I'm from Rome, but I've visited most of the places shown in the video. On the other hand, you probably know Dolomites much better than I do. Anyway it was a pleasure to see in a video like this many places that aren't usually very popular and known abroad, like Ponza and Tremiti islands. Keep up the good work!
Totally agree!!!! Nice video

I love Italy. It is a beautiful Country with ancient arts and history.

Italy is such a beautiful and unique country...Marche is also worth a visit: Urbino, Ascoli Piceno, Riviera del Conero, Frasassi Caves, Parco di San Bartolo and plenty of beautiful villages and monastries dating back to the Middle Ages.

Where do you want to visit most?
Viva l'Italia! I living in tuscany countryside, near Siena.
Wow, that sounds like the best accidental adventure! Nothing like driving on mountain roads across the alps 😇🏔
Omg I hope you done it in summer… in winter it could be very dangerous😅
@@samuelecammarata8434 haha yes we did it in summer. The drive was amazing, lots of cyclists along the way. The way there was even met with lots of traffic so you can imagine being stuck in traffic in an almost vertical incline 😆
I'm living in Siena for 5 months now to study here and I absolutely love it. I've had the opportunity to visit many stunning places in Italy like you. I hope to see many more places in the future
Wow, I can't think of a better place to study! So jealous you live there.
Wise words, I never thought of it that way but makes sense. So much endless beauty and history
Some wise words 🤯
He must be illiterated. Italy was EVERYTHING but decadent in the last 2000 years: Medieval age, age of the city states (Comuni), Maritime republics, age of the discoveries and sailors, Humanism, Renaissance, Baroque etc. etc. going on producing the most astounding culture in Europe both in quantity and quality. They "invented" western music, the modern theatre, Opera, modern science (Galileo), the modern painting etc. etc. etc.
Oh well, the Americans are the ones who have defined Michelangelo's David as porn. Hahahaha..
@@hazhoner5727decadent is related to Italy being old and left untouched...and somehow still standing....we don't make our city pretty for tourists...we just leave them as they are.. in Greece i felt that most villages looked fake.just saying😅
as an Italian I have to say that this video was amazing, you showed all the beauty of a country in 50 minutes, really congratulations, with excellent drone takes and also the 100 places you chose.

No one ever talks about it, but if you are in italy, you should stop in Montifollonico, very close to montepluciano and Torrita di siena.
Montefollonico is a small medieval town based within the walls of a small castle.
It has stunning views, great food, and history.
It is my personal gem of italy.

Wow, such a incredible list of places I've never been! I'll have to go back and visit them all.
Vado a Porto Rotondo l’estate da quando sono nato, secondo me non è un posto da consigliare a un turista estero che va lì che 4/5 giorni
A hug.
I was about to write a very similar comment. Le Marche holds a lot of places you sould see in your next visit. You will not be disappointed!
