  • @lasirenas1

I have very tight coils and love to finger coil. I have found that water is not your friend. Just like doing any other protective style on your hair, you need to moisturize constantly and use a curl refresher while you have it. You cannot take a shower and drench your whole head, going swimming or anything like that. It’s then that the hair starts to lock. I also have the unbrush and find that if my hair starts to naturally lock, i can drench my hair, use lots of conditioner and brush out my hair from the very bottom to the top and it comes out easy. It basically is that you are shedding your hair but instead of it falling out on the floor, those weeks of shedding stay in your head and become tangles which turn into locks.

I do this with super small flexi rods…if u can take the time to detangling in small sections with a product with good slip it’s a great protective style and take down is quicker than braids or twists…would love to see a wash day with this style. Def can’t go longer than two weeks. Great way to train ur curls if u also heat style.

How do I stop my hair from shrinking when it's dry? I'm a male with hair long enough to go past my eyebrows when I fully stretch it out and my curls look good when my hair is wet with water/product but the moment it starts drying up, it shrinks way back to my forehead.

(But note I have between 4a, 3c, hair, and A LOT of it is damaged from when I used to get relaxers, I do think it depends on how tight the coils are.)
