    Great take! The siblings, Wiress, and Brutus was so close to the end. What a shame that they couldn't be a part of the rebellion.
    Still, I always wonder what if all of the tributes were part of the alliance. They could pretend that they attacked each other without killing a single one of them. I really believe that this was doable since the games only lasted for 2 days.

      I believe only half the tributes were on it. The ones from District 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 11.

      I feel bad for District 5, 9, and 10 😅
      It seems off that neither of them were part of the alliance when District 5 legit blew up a dam knowing full well they'd die and District 10 being one of the first districts that the Capitol lost communications of.

      It probably would have been way too obvious if nobody was dying in the games, especially at the hands of One and Two. The Capitol would have gone on high alert and possibly even used some Gamemaker mechanics to threaten the players into breaking their alliances. And they would be more prepared to watch for district 13 to swoop in and attack.

    Im late to the party, but in the official timeline for the Hunger Games (made on the official Hunger Games website) the timeline specifically mentions how Brutus was 1 of 3 people that volunteered for the 75th games, the other 2 being Mags and Peeta. Cashmere and Gloss definitely didn't volunteer

    With their blatant manipulation of the capital in their interview they might’ve been aware of something and agreed to be violent in the games because they couldn’t get out but other’s might be able. They knew nobody would trust them truly

    I love how Collins shows over and over again in her books how oppression has different effects on people, and that it doesn't change the fact that no one deserves to be treated the way tributes are treated regardless of which district they're from.. Sure, district 1 has it a lot better than 12 or 11, but they still have to send two kids to fight to the death every year. Cashmere and Gloss may not have been heroes in the story, but they were still human and didn't deserve the treatment they got by the capitol.

    Gloss actually volunteered so he could protect his sister.

      This is just theories tho, he might’ve wanted to be a mentor to save her since only one could emerge.

    I think Brutus was the only career tribute to volunteer for the quarter
    Gloss and Cashmere most likely didn't, they both sounded so betrayed at the interview
    Enobaria probably also didn't, she seemed very eager to greenlight the capitol hunger games as revenge for what they did to her

    It was obvious that everyone is pissed when they ALL raised their hands in defiance during the showcase.. I mean come on.. you just survived the most traumatizing thing that could happen to you while you're still a teen.. thinking you're finally never going to do it again.. just for you to do it all over again.. no amount of fame and fortune can make you feel happy about going back to the games..

    Just another way the Games harm everyone. Even the people who we aren't rooting for, necessarily, are getting abused and taken advantage of, even if they didn't realize it at first; which is, in part, one of the many tragedies of the Games. The careers have lived their whole lives hyping these Games up, to the point where they'll willingly volunteer to die. That's literally what they're signing up for; to die a meaningless death. They just don't realize it initially, and if they survive, well.... We all know that's not the happy ending, either. As Haymitch said, "There are no winners. Only survivors."

    I believe that they volunteered back to back before the 75th games. District 1 is the LUXURY district. And this people are trained in a special academy before the games. Most victors are from district 1 or 2. So they are pretty confident about their chances of survival.

      @@Luzlapis special academies are actually never mentioned in the books, and about half of all victors are from career districts - that’s 1, 2, and 4, not just 1 and 2.

    1:58 in Catching fire in training It said Katniss were in the hammock section with Gloss and Cashmere saying they were polite and cool but then Cashmere says “you look ridiculous in that dress” but Finnick does also make a comment so who kbows 🤷🏿

    I don't understand why they'd have bad feelings towards Katniss or anyone for killing the tributes they trained. They know the games and they know you have no choice!

    • @AmedNunez
      @AmedNunez Місяць тому +6

      Yes but remember they are probably very brainwashed and indoctrinated to see each other as enemies so it could also be that. Plus it wasn't just one, but both tributes from 1.

    • @Victoria08822
      @Victoria08822 Місяць тому

      @AmedNunez that's true. Since they were in the games and know what it's like, I thought they'd be the only ones to truly understand

      Keep in mind the winners have their district receive tesserae for the year. Free extra food and supplies.

      @@solar6284 and to be quite honest, considering their industry, the working environments in District 1 might not be great so the extra food and things they get mean a lot to them. Specially since they’re used to producing a lot of victors

    I don’t think anyone really expected them to win the games, sticking together would be their undoing if one of them falls the other one is going down with them even if they were the last two tributes I don’t think they would’ve fought. What makes me sad was when gloss died and cashmere charged katniss in blind grief trying to avenge her brother when her opponents were the strongest she faced yet

    • @carmellaflower
      @carmellaflower 7 днів тому

      Yeah, that was the sad part. We saw how mad she was when Gloss got killed in front of her eyes, and she rushed alone straight up to 5 people to try to kill them without any hesitation.

    Certain kids in the better-off districts were trained from birth to fight in the games, I think. So it must have been a lot of pressure

    I feel like it's kind of no brainer that they didn't volunteer. Who, indoctrinated or not, would duo-volunteer for a game with their sibling where only one could have made it out alive?
