My first time reading the books I was 14/15y, I don't think any of the movies has been released at that point.. So I didn't see them as kids bc they were older then I was. I'm 28 now, I have a 16y sister and SHE'S JUST A KID!!!!!!! It was insane reading this books again as an adult. So cruel.
Effie is one of very few characters who is better in the film than in the book. In the books she simply disappears and we hardly hear anything about her anymore. In the films she has a lot more character, emotion and in my opinion is extremely entertaining.
For this reason o grew really attached to a fan made theory that says that One day Johanna decide to go live in district 4 to stay with Annie and her child. It never happened but it's happier
I think that it’s a nice touch that in the movies Effie kisses Haymitch goodbye and is genuinely sad they have to say goodbye the three it’s a bitter sweet , full circle moment the books did not include. This just adds so much to their relationship, all four of them 😊
Id like to think that Katniss named her daughter Rue and her son after her father. Rue was the person who actually sparked the rebellion and helped spark Katniss’s own rebellion. And Katniss’s father also taught her how to survive and his presence was almost everywhere during the years Katniss went into the Hunger Games and the rebellion.
I personally was always a bit bothered by the fact that Katniss's mom didn't go back to 12 to be there for Katniss. I get that it was hard due to Prim, but Katniss was her daughter too, and she had just lost her sister and endured the trauma of fighting in a war. Katniss wasn't even 18 years old. Her mom should have been there for her.
It tracks for her. If you remember, after their dad died, she completely shut down, and if it wasn't for Katniss, they would have died. Heck, that's when Peeta saved them with the bread. She can't handle trauma. When her girls needed her, then she wasn't there, so when Katniss needed her, she still wasn't there. At least she attempted to grieve with her.
I know this will take quite some time to make, but I'm looking forward to you making a Hunger Games Book VS Movie comparison series, just like you did for Harry Potter.
@RachelSemple Yeah, but still, there are several things that the movies leave out. Plus, there are some notable differences. For instance: - In the first Hunger Games, Rue is speared by Marvel before being freed from the net in the book, but after in the movie. Also, in the book, Katniss shoots Marvel in the neck, but she shoots him in the stomach/chest in the movie. - In Catching Fire, the reason why Gale got whipped is different. In the movie, it was simply for tackling one of the peacekeepers. In the book though, it was because Gale was poaching. While the former head peacekeeper of District 12 was lenient, the new head peacekeeper Thread was far more strict and cruel. - In Mockingjay, Effie Trinket was in District 13, which was not the case in either movie. Plus, two scenes were changed due to the death of Plutarch's actor: Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Effie was the one to give Cinna's book to Katniss in the movie, then Haymitch delivered a letter from Plutarch to explain that Katniss's charges for killing President Coin are dropped. Overall, while The Hunger Games does do a more faithful job with their movie adaptations when compared to Harry Potter, I still think the differences between the books and movies are worth noting.
I like to think that pollux and Cressida were either really close, or together after the war. Trauma can bring people together, and they were the only ones, besides the remaining start squad members, who the other could talk to about what happened.
I dont know why, Im so attached to hunger games I read the books once and watched the movie once, I cant bring myself to do it again The mention of the name itself makes me sob The ammount of death, torture and so much more. My all time favourite book and movie series, Yet I cant watch or read it again for the fear of what happens
It would be interesting to see the end results of similar series such as Divergent and Maze Runner since the endings can be ambiguous as to who exactly survived since not everyone is named in Maze Runner much like the tributes in Hunger Games (Excluding Ballad since all tributes were officially named at the reaping held in the capitol) not so sure about Divergent though.
Movieflame just casually serving my love for both Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. Like seriously, these are my two favorite movie franchises and I loved all the books too.❤❤
Nice, I was hoping that you would make a similar video to what happened to every characters after the Harry Potter series at some point but with the Hunger Games. So that was a pretty good treat
I want to believe Caesar was spared. But the thing I don’t understand is why. Why kill off Finnick? Was there some kind of message behind his death? Also, can’t wait to see how Maysilee Donnor will be handled in the new film, seeing how Madge was basically erased from the films.
Bro I feel like the only reason she killed off Finnick is so the vote had an odd number of voters. However they could have just let commander Lyme live and then we could all be happy. But no. RIP Finnick
Thank you for this! If Suzanne were to make another sequel book what would you want the plot to be Movie Flame? If The Maze Runner can do it why not The Hunger Games?
I'm 19 and I really could not imagine my 16 year old self in the hunger games. It's crazy when your reading or watching The Hunger Games and realize how insane this story is
I am never going to forgive Suzanne Collins for killing Prim. It’s been almost 11 years and I’m still furious. I cried so hard, and I do the same every time I get to that part in the book or the movie. It’s not OK. It was wrong. It served no purpose. Katniss had been through hell and back. She did not need that. When time travel gets invented, I’m going to track her down and make her change that ending.
It’s definitely reasonable , if you look storywise. Coin knew that Prim was with the medics and so she dropped the bombs so it looked like Snow did it. For that reason Coin thought that Katniss definitely wanted to kill Snow, if she wouldn’t do it in the first place. But ofcourse Katniss found out about the bombs.
@ possibly for you, but it’s been about 10 since I finished the last book. I was a late bloomer because I inadvertently tried to read catching fire first and it made no sense so I just got frustrated and put them down for a couple of years.
@ibrahimarticov6978 i Will Always be on katniss side on this topic but at the same time i agree with you; pepole that saw the rebellion unfold from the outside don't know what we know
@@luciagianquitto4010it’s not really about sides, Katniss pov is that she doesn’t really blame Gale. Knows it’s not his fault since he didn’t know if those bombs were his and beetees since they knew nothing about Coins plan but even if she wants to push it behind her, she can’t because he’ll always be associated with it anyway in her mind. Gale also knows this and is distraught, because he also knows it doesn’t matter. He was supposed to take care of her family but failed. To the rest of panem though, no one even knows that the bombs were from district 13. Everyone thinks it was Snow who did it, so there’d be no reason for them to see Gale as ruthless. They see him as someone who solely saved hundreds of people in district 12
Mrs everdeen not being there for her daughter back in 12 shows that katniss and her only stayed together cuz of prim. They didnt have a good relationship anyways . Also 12 brings bad memories so she wanted nothing to do with 12.
Hunger games was soooo subliminal I enjoyed it, felt like so many things that happens in the world today. Just wish we’d gotten Gregor the overlander, that was what was originally picked so I’ve read that would make it to a movie, but I get with the setting it wouldn’t have even came close to the quality it deserved. That’s the only Suzanne Collin’s series I read and had all five books man they were sooooo good…I still wish there was more..
I just realized something; Tigris has many reasons to hate Snow, he did do a lot of terrible things. But, does the main reason have something to do with what Snow did to Finnik?
you know the movies really make me forget that most of these guys were literal children. Now that I'm their age the realization really set in
I genuinely forgot that Katniss and Peeta were 16, and Rue was 12. It makes it even sadder
So cruel.

depression doesn't give you an excuse to be a bad person. katniss's mom knew full damn well that katniss was one of her daughters.
