- This time your will learn how to utilise the Roland TR-8s as a full midi controller and use all the knops and faders within your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in this case Ableton live 10.
I will also explain the you can overlay the Tr8s sounds and functions with your assigned midi functions. This will give you lots of options on how to use the Tr8s for your music production set-up.

Thank you so much, it gives a more broader interest again for this TR. One question I am not sure to have picked up correctly in the reference manual: can you assign a different midi channel to each pist in order to let us say control 11 pists in Ableton with 11 different sounds at the same time? Something existing on Elektron machines for instance even Model Samples

if i understand you can if you want use all the knobs as midi controller.
Can you save the set ups you’ve made and use it later in a different session, and can you map all the knobs for multiple set up
Finally can you return to the original set up of the tr8s
Please 🙏🏻, is it possible to have it in same time with Live :
- as drumbox (with separate channels in a group)
- as controller on another channel (as eg for Spire VST)
- as for global project interface (for mixing faders)
…and by clicking from one of those channel to another, having those upper use without having to do anything ?
(Hope easy understandable)

Well, unfortunately I'm running on Ableton and will not change that anytime soon. Sorry mate
Open the controller assignments window, click Learn, then click on the knob or fader in logic and move the knob/slider on the tr-8s
I asked on the shorts, but how can I sync the knobs to ableton to use fx? I know it will still affect the knobs function on the hardware.

Thank you so much for this!!! Do you happen to know if there is a way to control a keyboard Synth with TR 8s? My Nord Lead 2 has nice percussion preset sounds. Trying to figure out if I can have Tr 8s control the Nord. Any help much appreciated as always. Thank you!!!
Don`t know if this helps, but you could sample thes percs into your daw and then load them into the tr8s. this way you would have the keyboard free to play melodys or pads, but still have access to the percs.
but i think it should be able to trigger your nordlead, but can`t explain how. for this i`d recommend looking it up in the manual
@@mathieudubois7374 Thank you. I figured out how to control a synth via the drum machine. You just have to assign each instrument a note. Its fairly easy. But I like your idea as well

I'm happy to hear that. Well, just check if you are actually able to assign within Ableton your CTRL knobs. In case you are not able to, try to see if you have a midi response within Ableton (orange blinking indicator for midi signal, top right corner) when your turn the ctrl knobs. If not check your midi settings in your TR8s and Ableton. Let me know how you go.

@@6Litz_ I have the same problem here, the sliders and pads from 1-11 work fine. But I can't get a response for the knovs and pads 12-16

Anleton cant recognize TR8s CTR knobs & faders…. It only identifies pads? 😂 what am I getting wrong
Well, do you have the tr8s Tx EditData ON ? Also, your inputs and outputs in Ableton (options-midi link) are the same like in my video ?
