It was difficult to get the info out of what you were doing, could barely hear you talk, while the patterns were running. Could use some editing and proper labeling of video, being more specific about ableton doing program change with TR8S. I'm trying to figure out how to get octatrack to tell TR8S how to do the thing. Just advice to make your "tutorial" better if that's what you're trying to do....

En FL Studio, hay que usar 2 "midi out" uno para el 10 y el otro para el 1. En mi caso, tengo otro instrumento en el canal 1, así que en la Tr-8s he cambiado el canal al 11 y al presionar "write", en system, le he dado ok. Así quedará siempre configurado en ese canal. En el plug in de midi del fl studio, se cambia tanto el patron como el kit, cambiando el "patch" teniendo el "bank" en "---" y "---". Eso es, saludos!
Hi, I have a slight issue. Setting up KIt and Pattern on different channels does not give me the result I want> I can remotely change the KIT only. But when I send the programm change on the channel I have the pattern on, it also changes the KIT, not only the pattern, although I have the TR8s set up to not change the KIT wihen changing the pattern...Any Advise? THANKS!
The variations can be changed but requires sending System Exclusive messages. I'm building a M4L device to do this in Ableton but it's still a work in progress. I can't remember if fills can be triggered, will look into this.
Hey cool vid, can the pattern change at the end of the pattern? Like on the 1 of the next bar -or if it's a 4 bar pattern at the end of the 4 bars? I don't have the tr8 i have 707 and wondered if they could play nicely together.
Yes, you just have to create a new midi clip with the new pattern and the length of your clips will control how long your patterns play for. So you can for instance play a pattern with 1 variation for 32 bars including autofills.
hello stuart, i want to change patterns & kits automatically via ableton. i have got the tr8s and ableton suite 11 on windows. i want tu use the new follow scene funktion with clips like you video. do i have to set in every clip / scene a new different cc number for the pattern and bank change right ?
It’s midi program change messages that you need to send rather than CC data. I’ve not tried using the Ableton follow scene function in conjunction with the TR-8S, it should work just not sure how smoothly the changes will be

I can't get my Kits and Patterns to change independently. Sending MIDI out Channel 10 and 1 but it changes them both to the same number. For example I could be sending 7 to Kit and 10 to Pattern but both Pattern and Kit would go to 7, even if I've saved a different kit with the pattern. I've tried sending only to Channel 10 and only to Channel 1 and it's the same result, changes them both. Any ideas?
Check the KitSel parameter in Utility->General. When set to Kit switching patterns doesn't change the kit and when set to PTN the kit setting specified by the PTN Setting Kit parameter is selected. Page 44 of the reference manual
I installed the kit but when I try to separate the instruments it doesn’t seem to work. I’m not sure if my routing is correct but I followed the directions. I’m trying to use my push 3 to control the TR8s and create loops.

No this isn't possible currently. Only related control is enable/disable auto fill in and trigger auto fill in via CCs 14 and 70

it's weird, when i change pattern from ableton using the midi clips, it breaks the sound for a millisecond, i can't find the way to sort this out

Yes
Kits are changed on Midi channel 1 by default. But you can change it in utilities if need be.
Patterns are globally changed on Midi channel 10.
When I extract the chains I a whole new drumrack

A song is a chain of patterns. So chain your patterns and you have a song.
