  • Pretty in depth video on the install of the 3 point hitch "retro fit" kit. This kit is required for some reason on the new x700 series. The kit is part of the 3 point kit, so no need to purchase it separately. This kit and the rockshaft should have just been installed from factory on all tractors for what they cost, and for the nature of this level of tractor.

I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. Thank you.

Just finished installing the retrofit kit on my x758. It wasn’t the most fun thing in the world to do, but the video definitely helped! Thanks! A Little trick I did was to fully tighten the hose end of the 90 degree fitting that connects to the hardline, but leave the hose end of the 90 on the cylinder a little loose. That lets you get everything positioned, and you can snug the hose from the back of the tractor very easily once the hard line is connected.

I just bought a hitch kit for this tractor and had no idea how this was done. Thank you for videoing this and hopefully part two is out soon.

Nice video! I’m installing Ron’s H3 kit from aux hydraulic. Removing the linkage rods would have helped a lot for me. I may still remove them to install the hydraulic lines easier. I’m adding a second piston to the mower deck to separate it from the rear 3 point lift. It’s gonna be a sweet set up. The rear will be on its own piston so the linkage bar is deleted.

Thanks for this video! my crows feet only go to 3/4 as well. I'm getting a 13/16 crows foot right now to make this easier!

Reply to myself. I got the crows foot, just waiting on my tractor to show up :)

Wow, you were right on the money. Yes, install and tighten the 90 fitting on the cylinder before installing. Yes, the rear lift arm instructions are terrible. YES! why wouldn't Deere install this cylinder in a better spot in the first place! WHY would Deere use a u-bolt in the first place to hold the cylinder against the frame?!?!?! Just so many questions after a really frustrating install. Thanks for your video, it was excellent and helped a lot!

I was able to get the pin for the cylinder through the hole on the left frame rail. You don’t have to move the pie shaped brackets.

Just too much for my needs, honestly the X700 series probably is too, but it’s a hobby… I don’t have enough work or projects to justify a 1 series, and I’m not gonna seek out projects just to justify it

      I bought a X758 recently too.
Don't want a 1025 series either as I have a case 580K for doing real dirt work.
I also had fun installing my 3 pt hitch too.....Also installed the pto kit and air seat.
      All fun projects.
Your very well done vids are great! Keep em coming!👍

Like completely? Or just the arms? Arms are easy, just pull the pins… whole thing is a different story. Wouldn’t really want to take it all out unless absolutely needed.

Josh yes completely bought the tractor used and will never use it. i have everything off except for switching the hydro lines back

Probably not going to be able to unless you have the original fittings. I’d just leave it on. It’s a great accessory, one day you may find a use.
If you absolutely wanted though, you may have to go to Deeres parts catalog, and find all the fittings on there to revert it back. Cost some money though.
