    Your videos are fantastic, keep up the great work! Just traded my 738 for a 758 a month ago. Dealer charged me $2844 in labor to swap the cab and stub shaft over. That is 17.17 labor hours. I said bullshit! Settled as at $1100. Which is what it is actually suppose to be, according to 2 other dealers in our area.

      Sorry for the late reply, I'm glad you like my videos! Really 17 hours for that stuff? Seems excessive... Sometimes I feel like dealers really milk the labor hours...

    That’s a hard pill to swallow, I have installed a pto on my X720 and when I watched your install video I was slightly lost during you torque sequence thinkin man he is doing multiple bolts more than once and even thought he missed one all together. Glad your back up and running.

      I’m sorry but I’m confused… what is the issue with checking the torque more than once? After the second go at a few of them the rest of it was just to verify they were still breaking at there specified value. Just watched again because I misread “thought he missed” as “though he missed”… I was like “no way!” Haha, and rewatched it real quick. Definitely got them all. Honestly watching it again I’m now more in disbelief that I did it wrong… when you did yours did you only torque each bolt once? I just can’t see once being proper…

    I personally think they pulled one over on you. Sounds like some of those things they said wouldn’t pass in a dealer in the Midwest. Way too much competition for shenanigans like those statements. A good and reputable dealer would potentially file the claim with Deere and go from there with you. Deere as always has the chance to deny the claim but making that decision on their behalf isn’t their call.

    Any thoughts on getting your harbor freight torque wrench calibrated? When I was installing replacement struts on my car, the torque wrench ended up snapping the last post clean off. Just thinking maybe they were over torqued because of the wrench? Also great videos - keep ‘em up. Subscribed.

      If I knew where to even do that I would… doubt that was the issue though… as much as I hate to admit, the dealer may be right, but I still have doubts… you can’t really get this thing too tight, the unit will stop moving, if you torque it too much the bolts would probably just snap or the threads would strip out… but I’m not the tech… thanks for the sub and glad you like the videos!

    I just had the pto added by a dealer. I can't shift from mid and rear, just to mid. I need to engage rear, then shift from rear to mid. But it does shift to mid like that. Is that the issue you had? With it replaced with a new pto now can you freely shift between the three gears?

    • @JoshsGreenGarage
      @JoshsGreenGarage  Рік тому +1

      You will only be able to shift freely if both PTO shafts are lined up. Going from just mid or rear to both will likely always be tough, and the one not engaged likely will need turned just a little by hand to align the teeth. So if it is in rear only, to get to both you may have to manually turn the mid just a little. The opposite is true if you are in mid only. If both are engaged, it should go either way smoothly. Of course for safety reasons do this with the engine off. Honestly I haven’t played with my new one yet. If you are worried about damage though, as long as the mid and rear will turn by hand when either of the two aren’t engaged, you should be fine. The reason I couldn’t get it into just mid is because I couldn’t manually turn the mid shaft to get it aligned… does that make sense? Kinda confusing, especially since the gear engagement is backwards from the PTO orientation…

      Makes sense! Thank you so much! Keep up the great work.

      John Deere is simply the best tractors out there with no question, you might have some iffy customer service but the tractors speak for themselves

      Yeah… not sure if it’s that, or dealers are just lazy and/or don’t want to do warranty work.
