- While the Load 75 is more fun to ride, the Packster 70's design make it notably more practical for family life.

This is a really poor review. For anyone watching this, there is far better content on these bikes. Points like "my backpack would be exposed"... "The wheel lock can hit the spokes"... 😂 Jesus...
"e-cargo, e-mtb & family bikepacking enthusiasts welcome !" is actually your channel description.🤦♀
I think she actually makes a good point. Whether or not it's an issue will vary from individual to individual but its a clear elaboration of the different depths in the cargo area.
Look that's fine. I just found the overall tone mostly unnecessarily negative and many criticisms drawn were for kind of illogical things, but yeah, if you enjoyed it great, I am very experienced in the bikes (both) over years and several iterations and not agreeing with many criticisms given here
I think you have it backwards - those are all things that you have to deal with on day to day basis. Other reviews are basically reciting spec sheets that i can read myself on RM website.
@@ChelseaBlacker don't listen to their comment. You did a great job and this video is a very helpful comparison for those that are cross-shopping both models like me!
Great review! It's so refreshing to hear from someone who actually uses these bikes on a daily basis.
Despite some comments, I think that you have made a quite good review of these two bikes. It's great that you had the opportunity to test both bikes and choose the one that fits your needs.
Very helpful review, don't let the haters' comments ruin your day!
Cool review, I like you focus on UX instead of gear or technical equipment. I also did a review of RM75, now I’m looking forward to get Packster in my hands for testing 😊
Sounds awesome Krysztof, I shall watch it!
I love the way you reviewed these bikes...so awesome haha thank you!!
I appreciate your kind comment @youfavouritegarcon - I recognise I do not know "bike lingo" however I thought existing reviews did not share a 'going about town as a family' perspective, so i may as well try to share :) Have you tried either bike yourself?
Awesome review details!
I'm so glad I found you!
Gonna binge watch!
Looking at R&M for our furbabies.
@Sam, this image inspired me: images.app.goo.gl/1tmk8iJxy8MXcGk99 And this video: ua-cam.com/video/6RxQlfxPXlI/v-deo.html - May I ask what you're considering and the proportions of your fur babies? I can imagine different bikes for different sized hunds.
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you! I have found it useful too. One thing I would have added is how to remove the battery from the packster.
I totally agree - that would have been great to show as it's quite hidden!
I enjoyed your perspective.
🙏Thank you @sspooonless :)
Very good review which goes in detail in many practical differences between the 2 bikes. I would like to hear your opinion regarding the rear suspension comfort on the load vs the non rear suspension feeling on the packster, thanks!
Real world experience, I love it. Great review
Thank you!
For the rain cover on the Packster: you have to pull the handle bar higher. Of course, that way you sit less sporty, but there's no free lunch, is there ;-)
I really love the vario 70. tomorrow I buy it. but how you charge the batteries? can you take it out?
I like your review, things you mentioned are also what I concern in day to day use.
For Load75, have you tried the option with footwell? Does it make much difference in terms of the leg room and overall comfort for children, which brings Load75 closer to Packster? Also in terms of your security concern for some one stealing your stuff at red light, if you fit the child cover all time, would it still be an issue?
I had to look really hard multiple times at the Load4 & Packster2, on R&M & other websites, reading specs & reviews.
I finally decided the Load4 is marketed more to men, & the Packster2 more to women.
I also decided the fully equipped Load4 is less well developed, less mature than fully equipped Packster2. I don't know why anyone would choose Load4 over Packster2. By fully equipped Packster2 I mean Control Technology & Enviolo Automatic.
Packster2 advantages include:
#1 similar overall length as Load460 yet almost as much cargo box length as Load475;
#2 hidden batteries;
#3 hidden steering linkage;
#4 integrated cargo box;
#5 shorter turning radius;
#6 higher visibility;
#7 wider cargo box;
#8 more attractive appearance;
#9 simpler transmission operation;
#10 simpler dual battery charging.
The only disadvantage of Packster2 is speed limited to 20mph compared to Load4 at 28mph. Not a deal breaker for me.
The "top of the line" Nyon display is optional for the Packster.
did you settle on one? totally agree about the straps
Thanks for this comparison! I always thought Load being superior bike to Packster, now I have doubts. I tested Load 75 already now need to arrange ride on the Packster! Please post more comparisons like that if you have access to other cargo bikes.
Thanks @ukryty , I could perhaps get my hands on another brand or two. I appreciate the kind words!
the packster uses cable steering and is also having a better clearance when you turn, on sharp turns you may hit the steering bar against a curb...
i loved your review! I currently have both bikes (Load75 from dec-21 and Packster70 from oct-22). I agree with most points raised.
Overall I'd say that both bikes are really awesome :)
OH wow @qoTIMop I am mega jelly. I've been waiting for my Load for weeks (the example in video is borrowed). May I ask if you use the two for different purposes?
@@ChelseaBlacker it's only temporary, in a few weeks I'll sell the load75. I'll soon have 3 children so the Packster is more adapted. I loved the Load but the Packster is more family friendly :)
I totally hear you on this point. Bye bye 70 😢
exactly, the handlebar! I ride RM Load75 each day and got an impression it was designed fully from a male perspective (handlebar, sadle, hight, even the frame is not quite female friendly ;)).
@Ewa shall we join forces and build a cargo bike that puts women's design needs first? Joking aside, I hope you like my female focused review! May I ask how you could see the frame as being better designed with women in mind?
With the Load75, you should have gotten the footwell with it. As well as the table to put things over the kid's feet.
About the "kids sitting lower in the Load", for my concern, it's "a feature not a bug". Lower means lower center of gravity -> much more agile. We (my kids and me) are usually on full speed through all kinds of terrain. Not just roads.
Best review. I love cargo ebikes . They are nice for everything groceries. Or 3 kids. Anyway you r cute 😍
Load 75 can change a lot of the box setting, which will get to pretty much what you need. But you point of view are very fresh.
🤠Thanks @andy009m - yes you have a great point. And at the time I did not understand all the options clearly. I will mention these in my follow up video for sure. Danke!
I have the load 75 and agree 100% with your statements. especially the bell at that Price, it's an Insult. Good bike, not thought through well and overprized. But great riding. If it where 3k less it would be a great value of money.
@dixiealura7929 - I love your vision for the price point coming down, I hope it happens! 🙏 Thanks for the kind words.
How were you able to test one?
@Evan - right? How did I get my little mitts on it so fast?? I am fortunate, I found a dealer committed to selling R&M in a way that works for me as a potential customer (shocking how unusual this is in Berlin, Germany). He let me borrow a Load 75 for a month (a whole month!) at a fair rental price, so I could learn if it worked for our lifestyle. Of course he gave me a double suspension version (R&M's best selling point IMHO given no one else seems to do it for Cargo Bikes), but as my 4 weeks was coming to an end he said "Oh Chelsea, do you want to try the fancy new Packster that just arrived for a weekend?" - I said yes!
@@ChelseaBlacker I wish I could do that here in America
@@ChelseaBlacker which would you recommend for a 3 year old and want to use to replace 1 car?
@@letsgoOs1002 I could make a video about the process I implemented to find a dealer that met my needs. Would that be helpful?
@@letsgoOs1002 packster, it’s shape is more practical with large bucket and my money is on kid preferring this seating arrangement. Have you watched this video yet - If not, enjoy -> ua-cam.com/video/rQhzEnWCgHA/v-deo.html
I totally agree about the child rain cover, it is better to get the flat box cover since it covers the child too except for the head.
@Stefan My dealer spoke to R&M, unfortunately the Packster I ordered will come with a child rain cover even though we want a flat cover. Why? Not sure, but my dealer was told we can get a flat cover in the new year. I expect it's a stock issue, so many companies with Asian production chains are struggling with shipments, I'm sure it's frustrating for R&M too. They want us to be satisfied customers ultimately.
These things are like $9000 ?? 😂😂😂
I feel that Riese & Müller are overpriced compared to Dutch made competitors. The Load for example, looks like it was just cobbled together in some garage. Battery placements seemed like they just threw it on where ever there was space.
The Packster looks a little better thought out, the design made more sense than the Load. The load has full suspension though, so maybe that's important?
@xieulong - I totally agree with you on the point R&M is more expensive than dutch competitors. Have you tried riding a Load? It looks a bit 'bamboo garden sticks' to me and I also agree the battery is chucked on in an ugly way - but.... for me it is SOOOO fun to ride. Just to clarify - the Packster ALSO comes with full suspension on an upgraded package. 👍🏼
@@ChelseaBlacker Take a look at the Lovens Explorer S75 Auto. This thing is incredible, no crazy bamboo pipes anywhere. Only 6,499 euro. Another worthy competitor to the Packster is the CaGo FS200.
oooh ok @@xieulong i absolutely will. I have seen it on the road, I think it comes in a very beautiful forest green if I'm not mistaken. 🤭
I enjoyed your review, you bring up a lot of good points that others haven’t. But the homeless comment made me cringe.
Crazed homeless people ready to attack you and a team of men making decisions on how to name things? You must lead a sheltered life...
So much complaining sheesh
