Her putting Exile and MTR back to back was BRUTAL lmao
One thing that I think makes MTR even harder, and the situation even worse, is that she basically views her albums and songs as her babies. She even says whenever there’s a re-release that she’s “returning the album to its mother.” Even the way she talks about her albums when announcing them and just talking about them is framed as if she’s talking about her kids and bragging about their accomplishments. I love it, but it makes the Scooter Braun situation that much worse 😭
The song Seven to me was about a childhood friendship with someone that may have grown up with an abusive father and she's so innocent that she says "i think your house is haunted, your dad is always mad, and that must be why"... and also that friend you can't recall what they even look like anymore because it's been so long but you remember the love you felt for that person.

@@GOTGames yeah, I cried for 3 days straight after realizing what this song was about (or how I interpreted it anyway)... I couldn't stop thinking about the friends I had that I loved so much, I thought we would be friends forever, even promised to name our kids after each other... it's just sad to me to think I don't know those people anymore or what they even looked like really but I know my love for them is evergreen like a "folk song".
Thank you for confirming that I'm not the only one to hear that story in the song. No one I've seen react to it has mentioned it yet.

The thing with me is it takes me a while to really understand lyrics especially with Taylor since they're so metaphorical and have so many meanings, etc. but I've thought about doing reaction videos or something but it would literally consist of me saying "yeah, I have no idea what this is about" after every song. LOL
Like for TTPD I've been listening on repeat to try and decipher everything and the more I listen the more I'm seriously amazed by her, first of all, but the more I can understand what she's talking about and I SWEAR the more I listen the better these songs get... it's like a movie that you watch over and over and notice something new every time that you never heard or seen before.
Anyways, I try and spread the message of this song when I can because I feel like a lot of people need this song to help cope with the loss of an old friend. 💕
@@melissadavis4981 Yeah, I get it. Some songs take me a while to get a grasp of. The hidden darkness of this one struck me on the first listen. I felt like I was the only one in the theater who could smell smoke and kept looking around the reactions to see if anyone else was catching on to what Taylor was saying. It makes it all the more heartbreaking because it felt like the memory of little Taylor (or the character she was voicing) was the only spirit looking out for this faceless child in danger. Kids really do look out for each other. This is a song not just of playing pretend adventures, but of imagining an escape for a friend in trouble, even if our young rescuer had no practical knowledge of how to help their friend escape. You won't get far on your flight to India from Pennsylvania if all you're packing is your dolls wrapped in a sweater. The fact that our little heroine is so outmatched by the real world just makes her bravery that much more beautiful-- especially when you know she's planning on running off with her friend to keep them safe even though her home life is apparently safe and happy. We know her life is better because that normal sense of safety is how the heroine knows, even at seven years old, that it's not right or normal for her friend to have to hide in the closet from their father -- even if the psychology of abusive adults is unfathomable and can only be explained in her child's mind by the house being haunted. I think Seven is one of the saddest and most beautiful of the stories Taylor ever sings us-- and yes I'm saying this even after hearing all of TTPD, although boy does she crush me with some doozies on Poets.

Seven it's about a childhood friendship, she clearly had a friend who face she doesn't recall but that she still feels love for since it's part of her childhood. That friend I believe had problems in her house, his dad was violent and so the friend hid in the closet and since the song it's from a perspective of a seven year old child they talked about scaping together to India and being pirates. They also think the house it's haunted and that why the dad is mad not understanding the dad's behaviour. Is a masterpiece and I love it so much, one of my favourites in the album.
It’s my favorite TS song and never talked about.
Hiding in the closet also gave me the impression her friend was queer 🏳️🌈but was afraid to come out because of a violent father..& couldn't truly be themselves and Taylor felt sorry for them. That's how I put it. 🥺 That perspective hit a lot closer to home.

I feel sorry for the people who trash her and really don’t know anything about her. She is so multifaceted and some people have no idea. If they’d only give her more of a chance, they’d discover there’s probably a side of her that they can totally relate to!! So many of her songs are so relatable to just the general public and us Swifties have gotten that! And it’s so weird to think that our “Swiftieness” is what bothers some people. Anyway, I think these long pond sessions show this and I just wish more people would give her a chance! 🫶

My 2-year-old adores "seven", we sing it almost every night at bedtime. And when we get to the part "Please picture me in the weeds, before I learned civility, I used to scream ferociously anytime I wanted" she always goes, "Ahhhhh!" Sometimes it's a mighty scream, sometimes it's a little mini scream, but no matter how sleepy, she has to scream ferociously. And I think she's picking up on exactly what you did, that Taylor's vocalizations after that line are a stylized "scream".
This song is in my Top 10 Taylor songs of all time (and that's saying a lot with all the new TTPD tracks!) and it will always be so special thanks to my little girl.

Don't worry too much about anything, you are welcome the way you are. If you can get your hands on some friendship bracelets (either made or bought), that's awesome, but even if you don't, people will probably just gift those at the shows! Friendship bracelets usually have things like songtitles, album names, lyrics or inside jokes on them.
And clothing wise, a lot people like to dress up in their favorite era, but some do that very casually (just a t-shirt with a print or color from an era) and others will go all out in glitter and glam. Sparkly things are always good. As long as you feel comfortable (it's a long show! don't sacrifice aesthetics for comfort is my tip) it's all good. It's the people that make the show and the community.

When I went to eras back in May last year, I dressed up as my favorite era (reputation) and I just wore a black sparkle tank top, a black skirt and shorts underneath, and a long sheer black sparkle wrap skirt. Also black sneakers for comfort. You could honestly wear anything and fit in. A suggestion for comfort is dressing up as junior jewels Taylor!
So in case you were confused about what they meant by "William is Joe", there are a few songs on folklore, evermore and Midnights co-written by "William Bowery" which we learnt between folklore and evermore is actually a pseudonym that her then-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, was using to co-write with her. If you look up his pseudonym on Genius or Wikipedia, or the Taylor Swift Wikia page you'll see what other songs he co-wrote, like champagne problems.
PS: Taylor and Joe dated between 2016 and 2023 and he's most likely the subject of a lot of the songs in TTPD

Ah man Luke, as a woman, I just want to say how extraordinarily proud I am of the girls who walked with you that horrific night and were just there for you.
I've had my girlfriends do the same with me and it always breaks my heart that guys seldomly support each other in this way (just because of how men are so often socialised to be emotionally stoic).
I'm so happy that you had people in that moment just being with you. It's so powerful and I think it also is one of those big moments in life that can shape who we are moving forward.

The man you referred to as amazing during Mirrorball is Jack Antonoff. He is in the band The Bleachers and is one of Taylor’s best friends and produced a bunch of songs starting in Reputation (I think🤔 lol)

Shorter man with glasses: Jack Antonoff (produced albums first for Taylor, added Lana del Ray, Lorde, Chicks, The 1975, collab with Springsteen). His band is Bleachers; prior band 'fun' ; a number of Grammy awards. Other man is Aaron Dessner; the film is in his studio. He (and his twin, Bryce) are in the band The National (indie rock); he has a second band/project with Justin Vernon (Exile singer --- his band is Bon Iver ((bon hiver -- FR for "have a nice winter" or something)). Aaron and Justin's second project/band is called Big Red Machine ( a couple albums out so far; Taylor did a couple features on the last one. How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last? Taylor wrote (and sang lead on) Renegade lyrics, and did vocals on Birch.
