The shed is unheated. It does have two small windows, but those have blinds pulled down. Because they are dormant, it is fine to put them in a dark area, so it is fine to put them in a windowless shed. The most important thing is that it is unheated. Hydrangea need a period of cold. When you say you’re keeping the cuttings in the shed over winter, is your shed - 1. Heated, 2. Windowless?
