Danny Evans is the best spanish teacher for me - with great charisma and variety in the language - I love his teaching method and have so much fun with learning spanish! Muchas gracias!
Diana, thank you so much for supporting the channel! So glad that I'm able to help you on your journey to learning Spanish!
I agree big time you are amazing
instablaster
Agree!!
Maaaaaaaan…I’m a simple country boy from Arkansas who’s been learning Spanish for 20 years and you sir are without a DOUBT the most comprehensive, effective, and enjoyable Spanish teacher I’ve ever seen!!! Muchas gracias maestro! Eres mi favorito ahora!!
Agree I've tried other channels and still didn't get it after a 20 minutes video
it's been 20 years , why you haven't learned español till now ? i thought we could learn a language in 3 to 4 years
Hola, eres excelente explicando. Soy profe de Español pero a veces me vuelvo loca buscando cómo explicar algo y tengo que venir a UA-cam a buscar ayuda y encuentro cosas chéveres, pero tus clases me encantan y me ayudan mucho 😄😙Gracias!
You are THE BEST Spanish teacher on UA-cam. Thank you!
Thank you! 😃
I was confused, but now I understand the difference! I have been studying Spanish with your videos for 2 months now during the pandemic. Muchas gracias!!!
Did you? i am still confusing 🥴
I dinnt understand
@@ashenisuranga2915 Wow, you are confusing. How come?
I never skipped ads. Thank you so much for being such an effective teacher! 💕
Wow, thank you!
Por seems generally to describe a means or cause (via, thru, etc.) while para generally describes a purpose/aim.
Yes, more or less.
Started learning spanish last week. Estoy aprendiento espana. Muchas gracias POR la ayuda :)
¡De nada amigo! So glad it helped you!
first place I came when struggling with the distinctions - thank you so much; super helpful
Glad we can continue to help!
I discovered your videos and podcasts recently, and boy am I glad I did! I love how you tackle one topic at a time, explaining it simply and clearly. Your verb chart has been a game changer for me, also how you group those pesky pretérito irregular verbs, I finally feel I have half a chance of remembering some of them! Muchas gracias por dar tan generosamente de su tiempo, es muy apreciado.
Awesome! Thank you!
Buenas tardes, Danny. Ahora tengo un trabajo con tres hispanohablantes y ellos no tienen mucho englais. Hace tres años estoy estudiando español y la ideoma es mas clara cada dia. Los jefes aqui no hablan español. Nunca. Y a muchos veces tengo que a traducir.
Me gusta mucho. A veces por y para es un problema para mi. Gracias.
Tu amigo, J. Kelly👣
it's always soo reassuring when you need something clarifying in Spanish, and you type it into youtube and see that The language tutor has made a video on it haha. Thank you!
I just discovered your channel and I am blown away at how you break things down barney style and make them make sense. Read your bio on your website and saw that you were in the Corps! 'Rah, Devil Dog! I was in the Army. I work with a tutor for four hours per week and I'm always looking for more resources to use so that I can become fluent in Spanish someday. Thanks for becoming another resource for me!
Thank you! Having watched a video on the same topic on another channel, I realise that your success is in breaking your tutorials down into chunks and using clear visuals. The other big thing is that you speak at an easy to follow pace. Great teaching, thanks 😀
our professor gave us assignment about this. Glad I saw this 💖 thank you so much for sharing 🤗🤗🤗
I am so encouraged by this episode. I am watching to get to know the use of POR and PARA. What I have found is that I am able to translate, with near perfect accuracy all of the sample sentences into Spanish. This illustrates yet again, to me how great you are Dr Evans. Thankyou so much for what you do.
Hola Mr. Evans, i am in love with your videos and the way that you explains not only POR vs. Para but all your videos. Super sample, and easy to understand. I always give to my students your link so they can go and review what they learned in class with me. Me encanta y gracias!
Thank You So Much Professor Danny. This Video Really Clarified some of the "Fine Points" in the Usuages of POR and PARA. I LOVE Your Sample Sentences and Easy Style of Teaching Us even the most complex material.
Paz y Bendeciones.
Kelly
Great lesson, its much better when you use examples of what we learn in context... sometimes when we are taught verbs without context its difficult to imagine where they are used in conversation
Thanks so much for this lesson - it has cleared up a mystery for me. Brilliant teacher.
I come back to review topics in question- you just cleared up my “por” vs “para” question!! Thank you again!
Great lesson! I really appreciate the way you use the words in sentences.
Danny, you are an absolute master of verbal and nonverbal communication. You are a 3d language teacher. Your arms are as expressive as your face, words and tone. You are also gentle on the ear!! 😊
Love your lessons online... As soon as I have this language licked, A donation is coming your way!!
¡Muchas gracias! I was having some trouble with this concept when I heard and seen para/por used in many sentences and couldn’t figure out why. Your video (and a couple of other Spanish videos/websites) helped clarify those differences for me very well! Again, thank you so much for your teaching! 🤗👍
I'm not skipping ads.
Thanks for clarifying this topic.. 😊
Gracias por tú información en por y para. Estoy mucho trabajando en por y para en el tiempo presente. Gran video.
PERFECTLY EXPLAINED! Thank you so much.
Finally got the idea. Para is used when something or someone is at the receiving end of the point you're trying to make. This was the best por vs. para video I've watched so far. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Gracias this has been so helpful. Looking forward to seeing all your videos step by step.
Thank you very much for this video. It helps a lot. One thing that could make it more effective is a very short/quick recap at the end of the lesson. For example, a brief statement of when each is used. Thank you very much for these lessons.
hola professor.
yo aprendiendo espanol con tu. gracias para todas.
it was very benefishal to learn spanish from you.i m now in paragraph 49.i have self confidence in spanis launguege. i hope you will continue to teach us at the most hay spanish like the past knowlege.thanks a lot professor.
Thank you for uploading your lessons , I’m a 30yr old college student learning Spanish for the first time. I honestly learn more from you than in the classroom. I would not be passing Spanish if it weren’t for your videos.
¡Muchas gracias por esta leccion, maestro!
The prepositions por and para, of similar etymological origin, are very common in Spanish.
In general,
indicates destination, purpose or final objective;
indicates the cause and means through which an end is reached.
Another great video!! I am working may through them all. Thank you for finding ways to make connections and "keep it simple". You method of teaching and subtle encouragement is the reason I feel like I CAN DO THIS... even 20yrs after high school Spanish 😊
Keep up the good work!!
Thank you!! Yes, you CAN do this!
¡Hola Dr Danny Evans! Yes i really need a lesson about usage of por and para. Muchas gracias.
Muy buena manera de explicar por y para. Muchas gracias!
I look at "Por" as a replacement for "Per or Via". That helps me.
Great explanation!
Thank you - Excellent explanations - best I have seen so far!
Thanks!! Glad I was able to help you out.
Dr. I'll need a work book or an app or something from you!! You are too good at your craft!
I have been learning spanish from your videos.. you are a great teacher your teaching method makes it very easy to understand... Thank you very much
Happy to hear that! Thank you for watching and subscribing!
This is so great! I'm just starting to learn Spanish and I know this is more advanced but I'm living in Spain currently and hearing this all the time and not understanding except the "for" version has been driving me nuts! Your explanation is so wonderful, it's easy to understand and to the point! Thank you so much!
You're so welcome!
Also for me thinking in 'dutch' or 'french' is it very often difficult to use por and para but step by step I learn it better thanks dr.
Thank you!! I was so confused when to use these two
Para is basically in order to,to go to(Spain for example) and by(the one that is used for future perfect tense in English)
I learned the almost spanish language from this bestest tutor more than i have learned to my personal teacher👍
Thank you!!
We appreciate you professor 🙏
Thank you so much for making this video. It helped a lot ❤
¡De nada!
By far this has been the best explanation. Others have explained it but I understood it better after this lesson. Keep up the great work!
Glad it helped!

Another great video! Can you please make a video explaining the difference between unas and algunas? Thank you
Thank you so much for making this. It made my Spanish Homework so much easier.
You’re welcome!!
You are the best teacher Dr Danny.
Gracias!
The differences between por and para was initially quite challenging for me.
But eventually, I encountered enough differences to remember them, and also remember their meanings. And at times, the differences can be very subtle.
It's the sort of thing which is best learned by the particulars in a text book in a classroom setting.
Thanks for this….much clearer
glad i found you again, i watched your videos on AIB then lost track of you until I found this new channel.. wish you can combine the 2 channels so nobody will lose track of you. thanks for your amazing lessons, They help me reinforce the spanish that I am learning from school.
Hey!! In a perfect world that would be great, but AIB has control of that channel. And we wanted to do things a little different for you guys so we created our own.
Muchas gracias senor Danny. Usted un maestro magnífico. Mi idioma nativo no es ingles. Soy de Bangladesh. Mi lengua nativa es Bangla pero me gusta mucho aprender espanol. and love you Danny. You are a great teacher.
You are so nice! Thank you for these kind words! So thankful for my amigos in India!
Dr Danny Evans your the man
Love these videos. How do I start at the beginning and follow these through a logical sequence to better learn Spanish?
Muchas Gracias! Love your videos!
Sir, I'm a little confused with the usage of 'a' in few contexts where it means 'for'.. Like the example you gave, 'Por su amor a los niños'... Why not 'por los niños?? I'm glad I found an amazing teacher!! The best part about your teaching is, you keep it simple and clear! Me gustan sus lecciones.. Muchas gracias!!
Her love to children.Don't forget that "for" means "to" as well. They tend to use "to" more than "for" in places where you can put both for and to.
When the direct object of a verb is a specific person or pet animal, 'a' is placed immediately before it. So for your case, I believe amor is the verb of the sentence, 'a' would be placed right after it. Keep in mind though, this type of 'a' is a personal 'a'. You can do more research on that. Something to remember is that a personal 'a' is NOT used after the verb 'tener'. It's used for every other verb, however, you must include the rule that I mentioned above, which is that 'a' is placed right after the verb if the sentence contains a specific person. Hope this helped!
@@unusualle4326 Amor isn't even a verb there. You're right on everything else but amor is a name. You cannot conjugate it so it's not a verb.
@@myk1137 The phrase "por su amor a los niños" is translated "for her (his) love for the children". It indicates the reason that she/he is doing something. It would more accurately be translated as doing something "because of her/his love of the children". Her/his "love of the children" is the motivation for what is being done.
@@williamobrien2253 Por means for though.
I watched your video for the first time. I liked the way you taught.
Thank you! 😃
Dr Evans you are the best teacher! I now get para and por, but how do I use porque?
Like whenever you are signifying movement without using a verb you use por? DOes that work? Also greatlesson! It really helped me out!
Gracias mucho mas mi faborito maestro en spañol...
I’m just glad to have a gringo perspective in learning this language. Thankful for The Language Tutor.
Best teacher by far on you tube!! Great explanations and great clarity of sound… so important!!!
That’s how we use “para” in Filipino too. Mil gracias por esto Profesor ❤️
Yes! 🇵🇭
gracias . Muchos comprendo professor
Thank you Dr. Danny
Thank you for watching!!
gracias! este vid es muy util
I am taking a Spanish class while in Panama for three weeks. Today we spent an entire class on por and para. After that class, face to face with an in person teacher I did not have as much clarity as I do now after watching this 14 minute video. Wow!!
Now if I could just get one on muy and mucho! That would be great! LOL!
Muy: muy bien, muy rápido (like saying very)
Mucho: mucho por hacer, muchas personas (like saying a lot)
Thank you very much!!
Thank you so much 😊👍👍👍👍
Excellent explanation! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, I just started your Spanish lessons on AIB (Excellent teaching btw!). Then I started wondering when to use por and para and was surprised you didn’t cover it. Lo and behold, you have another channel. I’m a happy woman again.
Thank you so much Charnelle! It's been several years since I filmed for AIB so I may have covered it in that series, but they only post a certain number of videos on UA-cam. I appreciate your kind comments and I'm really happy I can help you.
@@TheLanguageTutor i also started watching from AIB, glad i found these.
What i do is downloading your episodes..and try to watched again and again..😊🤗.
