Anytime I am learning a new aspect of the subject, I immediately look for Danny's videos and he makes each topic very understandable!

    The prepositions por and para, of similar etymological origin, are very common in Spanish.
    In general,
    indicates destination, purpose or final objective;
    indicates the cause and means through which an end is reached.

    Sir, I'm a little confused with the usage of 'a' in few contexts where it means 'for'.. Like the example you gave, 'Por su amor a los niños'... Why not 'por los niños?? I'm glad I found an amazing teacher!! The best part about your teaching is, you keep it simple and clear! Me gustan sus lecciones.. Muchas gracias!!

    • @myk1137
      @myk1137 3 роки тому +1

      Her love to children.Don't forget that "for" means "to" as well.They tend to use "to" more than "for" in places where you can put both for and to.

    • @unusualle4326
      @unusualle4326 3 роки тому +1

      When the direct object of a verb is a specific person or pet animal, 'a' is placed immediately before it. So for your case, I believe amor is the verb of the sentence, 'a' would be placed right after it. Keep in mind though, this type of 'a' is a personal 'a'. You can do more research on that. Something to remember is that a personal 'a' is NOT used after the verb 'tener'. It's used for every other verb, however, you must include the rule that I mentioned above, which is that 'a' is placed right after the verb if the sentence contains a specific person. Hope this helped!

    • @myk1137
      @myk1137 3 роки тому

      @@unusualle4326 Amor isn't even a verb there.You're right on everything else but amor is a name. You cannot conjugate it so it's not a verb.

      @@myk1137 The phrase "por su amor a los niños" is translated "for her (his) love for the children". It indicates the reason that she/he is doing something. It would more accurately be translated as doing something "because of her/his love of the children". Her/his "love of the children" is the motivation for what is being done.

      Sacar in Spanish In this case is the equivalent of the verb to get
      Sacar una cita - get an appointment
      Sacar un documento - get a document
      Sacar dinero del cajero- withdraw money from the ATM
      As he explains

    The differences between por and para was initially quite challenging for me.
    But eventually, I encountered enough differences to remember them, and also remember their meanings. And at times, the differences can be very subtle.
    It's the sort of thing which is best learned by the particulars in a text book in a classroom setting.

      Hey!! In a perfect world that would be great, but AIB has control of that channel. And we wanted to do things a little different for you guys so we created our own.

    When “para” follows a verb regarding a deed, that probably typically means a good deed, but when “por” follows a verb in that case, that means “instead of” (which I either think of as someone’s having the wrong idea on trying to help me with something I either want to learn to do or can already do on my own and therefore don’t invite those people to do or as someone’s being my substitute when I know how to do something and just temporarily can’t do it).
