  • Beautiful day for a trike ride on, mostly, quiet Virginia country roads. I had no idea that Presidents Monroe and Jefferson's homes would be on the route. 28 miles with 1700 ft of climbing.
Myrtle's Merch store is open!! 🥰💥 🎂 💞💥🍾 Purchase Travels By Trike merch to show love for your favorite turtle: myrtles-merch....

This channel is about all things trikes and travel. I have been riding a recumbent trike since 2005 and have been touring since 2007 all over the world. I have toured on 6 continents, in over 20 countries and cycled more than 100,000 miles. In 2020, I shifted from solo trike touring to solo RV travel. After completing a cross country solo trike ride am I now switching back to looking for primo spots and trails to ride my trike.
On this channel I have gear reviews, tips and tutorials but, mostly, I produce short travelogue type videos of my tours and rides as I go. I travel with a DJI Action 3, Insta360 One X2, Skydio 2 drone, DJI Mini Pro 3 and an iphone. Thanks for subscribing and following along!

I also have an extensive journal on Blogger that goes into much more detail about the area and the emotional ups and down. The blog has a link to Garmin stats and a map of every day's ride. There are also a ton of pictures. You can find it following this link:

Why are blowing through STOP SIGNS??? To many Cyclists are getting killed for that reasons.

I still have some maps from the Bike Centennial Route. I never was able to do any of it. I don't know if it goes through Yellowstone still, but at one time, it did.

Those maps are probably collector items.

@@TravelsByTrike I have all three parts, the map book the director and the field guide. Mine are from the 1981 printing, looks like. I have the Rocky Mountain maps. From Missoula, MT to Pueblo, CO. Its the second part. Fun to look at and read. Things have changed.

Regarding use of your battery: what percentage of time are you using it and are there days when you'll use 2 batteries?

I had 4 batteries with me. I used the e-assist all the time and, most days, switched to a 2nd battery. With 4 batteries, I could do primitive camping where I knew there wouldn't be electricity for 2 days.

Hello Charlottesville, Va.! I was impressed by how the route took you by so many historical locations. Professional thieves definitely do frequent these sites and take advantage of those least expecting it.
    Keep on Triking!

Yes, thanks, it's an unfortunate part of cycle touring. Worrying about my stuff while exploring isn't enjoyable. But, now, I get to go back again.
