- How to use the Hands free lift gate? Well depending on the model you have use the keyfob or the button inside the vehicle or the button on the liftgate or your foot! You can also program this door height.

I have mine set to the 3/4 because I don't want it to hit my garage but when I'm out I wish it could automatically open all the way. A sensor that would keep it from hitting the garage when you open it would be more helpful.

Thanks for the video. Just got one of these, and I was like, I thought it had this feature, but I couldn't get it working. Turns out the bowtie was in a sunlit patch, and I didn't see it.
Is there any button to press to open the trunk if you don't have your keys and don't want to go inside to open the liftgate!? I don't have the power option on my RS. Thanks.
Yes, there is a button on the lower portion of the tailgate as well
What if your car was in the Ft Lauderdale flood and the battery dead. How do you open with out power? Is there some emergency lever that you can get into with the third row down? Thanks Joe
Thanks for your help. My question is when you close the liftgate and something is in the way and it reopens it only reopens halfway. This is frustrating because then I got a push the left button to open fully to remedy the problem and then close it how can I have the liftgate open fully to the max if there’s an obstruction thanks for your help
I have a 2023 Chevy Traverse RS. I was told that I have this feature. I don’t see a bowtie. Could you tell me how to get it to work?
Your RS doesn't have the feature. In 2023 model it is only in Premier and High Country trims

We were rear ended and after all the repairs, including a new sensor, the kick feature works intermittently. Any idea why?
we have that, but just a white light, no bowtie logo on the ground, what are we missing?

Can you help me out ??? Just bought a 2019 chevy traverse , the original owners only left one key . Nice clean car with plastic still inside . So the dealership had me a new key made at a lock smith . The original key when you walk up on the car will light up , the key the locksmith programmed which is a real Chevy brand key will not work when you walk up on the car . The tailgate light doesn’t come on and the locksmith says it’s something in the memory of the car , my Chevy salesman had no idea 🤷♀️. Any thoughts is it the key or is there a setting in my car . Please help me
Dave I thought you were going to sacrifice yourself and demonstrate "pinch protection" by letting the door come down and hit you on the head! Us tall guys have to watch out for raised tailgates.

How can you tell if you have the feature because I bought a fully upgraded version (I think) and I don’t see the light 2021 version
It is in the Premier and High Country models. If you have that model try to use your foot to open and see if it works.

It does not.. only the premier and high country models

I have this car, a 2019. But my liftgate just opens little bit then it stops. Then I close it snd open again. What is the problem you think. Extremely thankful for an answer
Sounds like something is causing the pinch sensor to activate?? or maybe the door is slightly out of alignment

@@nerdiep3456 I think it is a pressure sensor probably built into the motor for the door

Will the bow tie always appear? Mine used to but doesn't anymore.
It should always appear... I'm wondering if the LED that provides the light can get dirty from road grime and essentially block the light... I'm going to investigate one tomorrow when I'm back at the store.

No, it comes on at night for probably for about a minute when it senses the key near the vehicle
I have the 21 Traverse RS model, can the hands free liftgate feature be added to my vehicle at a dealership? I have the power tailgate currently.
No, unfortunately GM does not have a way to add that

It doesn't open on the Traverse. It is fixed glass
I am sure the owner to be of this vehicle doesn’t appreciate you opening and closing the tailgate so many times. You car salesmen have some nerve beating on someone’s to be vehicle. Kidding great video.

Where is the inside button?
On the Traverse it is on the lower part of the drivers door panel

@@anacaricuevas8442 the LS doesn't have the power tailgate so the only way to open it is with the button at the bottom of the tailgate. It is where the door meets the bumper

Does this work on a 2020 traverse LT cloth?
No, the handsfree is only on the Premier and High Country models..... The LT Cloth has the power door but you must use the keyfob, button in side the vehicle, or the button on the back gate.

Can I get it as an add-on? Didn't realize I didn't have an automatic tailgate opener. After purchasing the traverse is when I noticed it.
