First time back to Big Willow in 15 years! 4/12/24 2WTD Group C Session 2

Another track day in the beautiful deserts of California! This time at the iconic and historic Willow Springs International Motorsports Park built in 1953 and featured in a variety of media such as Top Gear, The Gran Turismo series, Disney's The Love Bug, Ford vs. Ferrari and even a Playboy photoshoot. First two sessions were super short because of a scary amount of red flags that occurred in the first part of the day. A red flag is waved whenever there is an incident on track which requires first responders or tow vehicles to remove a wreck or debris and all riders need to exit the track. I believe two or three riders had to be taken to urgent care that day so needless to say, it was a little tense out there!

did you travel across the country? or is that a rental bike? want to do this at WSMP but would be too far to travel from Ohio.

I'm originally from California, moved out to Alabama for work so I bought another bike to have when I go back to visit. This one is an 07, so it's identical to the 08 I use at Barber. It's nice cause all the parts are interchangeable so getting it set up was really easy and fairly cheap.

You caught me 😂 my buddy was riding in group C so I wanted to be with him. He got bumped to B that day. Funny enough, about a quarter of the group that day were really quick and practically dragging knee every corner. Definitely not their first day.
