Love a good unboxing. And unboxing a trailer at that. That's awesome! Also, I just posted my unboxing video of Missing Link, all the way from the Canyon to Norway! Cause apparently unboxings are where it's at. I learned that during the livestream. :D
I'll also add that you're probably feeling the trailer push more since the way they have it setup is backwards from what you'd want for weights. You generally want something like 60% of the load positioned in front of the axles, and those axles being directly in the center of the deck isn't helping that much on top of the huge weight of that box
My first lesson backing up a trailer involved an LC70 and a 30ft triple axle. I had to reverse it into a dugout loading bay, then through a gateway. Been towing ever since. And for the last few years, legally ...
Next we’ve got you out in some Mythigan woods with that thing. There are some great 3d printer files for trailers on Thingiverse and Cults3d. I printed one that included fully functional 3d printed leaf springs. It was a blast to build and I’ll probably do another one this summer. They’re silly, but so fun for trailing.
My welding classes are starting again after Christmas break next week. I’m gonna do three different classes this semester. Technical welding and fabrication, pipe welding, and mig/flux core. I’m excited. Last semester was welding 101 and fab lab(which was laser engraving, sticker cutting, and 3d printing. That was a super fun class!
Coming from a towing/trailer type of guy, definitely build your own if ya want a trailer! I haven’t seen a single option online that is either the right size and useable or ridiculously overpriced. Pending materials used, you can build a functional/useable trailer for 50-60 bucks, especially if you’ve got the spare parts that most of us have laying around.
I bought a bigger flatbed twin-axle trailer with a slide-out ramp from Aliexpress which is sized properly and totally allows towing full size rigs with other rigs - i use it to tow my C2 build out to crawl spots so i dont have to carry it for miles :) easily found on Aliexpress listed as "1/10 RC Car Cargo Carrier Aluminum" but the aluminium part is a lie, its absolutely a steel build, similar design and leaf setup as what you tested, but i had no problems with assembly, no modifications required, easily set up the shackles with lots of suspension movement available, no drilling no cutting. Total trailer came to 2.1kg. It is able to hold my 3.4kg C2 chassis and still have excellent offroad suspension throw to look super realistic (very little bouncing). I found the best setup is to have the forward axle set up stiffer with a helper leaf, and the rear axle soft with only a single leaf - the forward axle takes the bulk of the load and helps keep the weight on the tongue - the rear axle softness just helps stabilise bounce and swing. You dont need to bolt the wheels with the bolts sticking out like spikes, you can bolt inwards with the nuts on the inside, they dont foul the axles and the nuts fit inside the hub cavities and overall looks a lot neater with no finger stabbing :D Also another quick mod - mount trailer axles UNDER-leaf rather than traditional over-leaf - much more clearance for suspension movement without impacting rails, and raises trailer height overall which is super helpful for real world use, also allows you to use the foot properly as it no longer impacts the ground when fully retracted. I have a video on Reddit showing it towed around in action but cant link here unforts, but i do recommend grabbing one of these for an 'unboxing' 😆and test as i think you will really be pleased with the result compared to what you have here. Also yes, i totally spend an evening learning how to multi-point U turn and reverse a trailer in my living room :D Thanks for the amazing content - big fan. Much love 🙏
Unboxing a trailer! I don't think the person who designed that trailer knew how leaf springs actually work. You say you don't know how leaf springs work, but you couldn't have set it up more properly. 👍
Either get yourself a KLAAS agricultural trailer as a starting point and mod it to suit OR build Your own trailer from scratch to suit exactly what You need. Have built and run scale 40ft semi trailers in 1:10 and 1:12 scales and currently waiting for paint to dry in 1:24 scale KLAAS farm trailer. It had plastic tipper body, removed for now until I get battery and servo mechanism sorted out. Until then am running as a skeleton trailer. The agricultural types are better suited to off roading than road / trail type trailer designs. Have Fun ! Hint: learning to reverse a trailer, GO SLOW and make small steering inputs. Go fast, crash fast. slow n steady wins until You get used to it.
I wonder is the axle mounts are in the wrong location on the edge of the fram sense they probably use the " trailer chassis" for multiple trailer designs
It would be much better to just buy a trailer axle, a set of leaf springs and build your own. It’s not that difficult. Thanks for another fantastic video that had me LMAO 🤣 for nearly the entire video.
That canopy is too small for that trailer - there's a shorter version with a canopy that looks more scale. A covered section on an expanded steel floor is also weird AF. I'd lose it and also raise the fenders if possible.
Off topic, have you checked out MJX HY12y, a 12th scale buggy/crawler? I got one and making into a good AZ desert (Mini Moab) crawler - would love to know your thoughts on this one
I saw this trailer on a few sites, I'm glad I didn't buy it. I'd still like that white part on the stiff sprung Yeah Racing trailer I've been pulling around with my Marlin.
When backing a trailer you are going to reach a certain angle the trailer steers faster than the car can counter steer. A short euro truck and long semi trailer has no trouble bringing at back at 90 degrees but I drive a rollback. My truck is a lot longer than the cars I pull behind and have to reverse even into parking spots. Well it's tricky when you don't have room to swing your front end and also an angle of only 45 degrees of no return. Getting my BC8 with trailer in the elevator is also very hard line you need to nail perfectly because the 8x8 doesn't like to turn and not much room in the hallway. To practice I recommend a more or less top down view so you can easily so the angle between the car and trailer. Back up slowly but straight and watch to trailer turn slowly at first but faster as it gets more angle. And just see how much trailer angle you can counter steer to get a better feel for backing up with a trailer. Also with dual rate limit your steering angle to simulate a longer car and shorter trailer combo. And crawl backward to give yourself time.
Your supposed to look at the picture online to puzzle it together lol duhh isn't that how all men do it look at the picture on the front everyone knows it's just jibberish inside a manual anyway

Could you make a deck with fenders to make the deck the same width as the tires? So you can put a utb18 on it

You generally want something like 60% of the load positioned in front of the axles, and those axles being directly in the center of the deck isn't helping that much on top of the huge weight of that box
You should get more traction with that box shifted to the front like you mentioned. That'd load the rear axle instead of removing load from it
Naturally, the holes are placed such that you
@@CrawlerCanyon And making a hole violates the unboxing engagement!
Yay unboxing!!!

Test those tires on lordpentabee!
Love the longer vids like this Mr. C . Feels like we are all hanging out together
Unboxing, sweet😊
Way to keep your composure. I can't help but to laugh at myself when I do stuff like trying to put a nut on a hex wrench. :)
Little BFG all terrain tires too. Niftyyyyy 😎😎😎

Trailer unboxing!!! 😂
You could 3d print a new camper shell to make it lighter and cover the whole trailer
Madness, I love it. And an unboxing to! That Amazon trailer is about £100 in the UK - Ridiculous.
Non-functional is THE WORST kind of functional haha. Honestly this thing looks like pure comedy and i think i need something like that in my life 👍
The pin for that receiver should use a regular old body clip
To me I would move the axles to the back atleast an inch to get proper tongue weight
Needs a tool box in the front
Unboxing! Sweet!
Lawnmower trailer.

Your favorite... Redcat Racing 1/10 Scale Custom Trailer or RC4WD "Big Dog" or Team Raffee (aka Boom Racing) BRQ90262 - car hauler trailers.

That trailer crawls better than an ascent🤣
Is there any chance you would sell me your trailer crank i broke mine?
Your not looking at the picture
