Proof something doesn't have to be hardcore to be fun. The challenge of driving around a rig's limitations is a joy all its own (and might even make you a better driver).
Throw crap on the roof and make it floppy fun like wheelie yellow! I’d love to see a Canyon build in that vein. Not necessarily a copy, but a floppy fun grail rig.
you can buy aftermarket lightboxes that can also handle all those lights. And switches that can be operated from the radio. Also curious how difficult it would be to mix the rear differential breaks, for example using a RC6 or similar, turning the wheel turns the breaks a set amount
I think 35kg servos and get rid of the servo saver. You can still get the mini servos on aliexoress. But the problem with that is, they come in a few different sizes. I've got a 1/16th scale crawler that uses mini, and not micro servos.
As for why I don't like turn signals, they seem rather silly to me for a trail rig where you wouldn't use them in the real world. It also seems a bit silly to activate them any time the steering gets touched. Ever just driven around a curve? I think they'd be neat if they were on a 3 position switch that you could use to manually activate them
I've already swapped out those same shift servos for HV micro versions using an adapter plate I 3d printed on another Yikong I have. And this is why we trail. You found out with your members vid that trailing can be fun, and when you use something like this, it becomes more fun 'cause of the challenge of just getting up the hill. Can you examine the shocks for us? Do they leak? What are the seals like? Length?
Love mine 😎 Runs well and looks amazing. Side note: It sidehills quite well stock, I find. :) Wheelsize-wise 45mm inner diameter fits over the portal box and clears the cutting brake (if no screws poke out too far). EDIT: Why not just use the program card to reverse the motor rotation? Should fix the lights, no? :)
Yes and no. You could reverse the motor rotation, and not set your throttle channel to reverse on the radio, but then you would be faster in reverse. For whatever reason, Hobbywing ESCs want the throttle channel reversed.
Need to take that on your trail hike, maybe tow the trailer with supplies

That Yikong looks sooooo nice with the new wheels and tires
Not everything has to be the best crawler. Variety is the spice of life.
And no, I did not think you'd make that pivot. That was amazing!
Wagwan Canyoneros 👊
And this truck has found a permanent home ❤
Id LOVE to buy just the body itself! Great unboxing
What a transformation. For a do all rig I think it's almost perfect.
That Patrol bodys a looker.
next trailing video, take this one out into the desert.
That is a very nice trail rig👌
I have inadvertently come to the same 'conclusion' for my preferred setup. Tusks and a Fusion.
I bought one just because your review had me sold! This body is so sick!

you and craig need to compete for a cool scale yikong. he'd love this thing. it is interesting and a fun one to watch

I might order this :)

Howdy👊
So you would pick this truck over the fms lc80
I actively discourage people from buying the abomination that is the straight-axle FCX10 LC80. It's terrible. This thing is fun.

Its pretty rad
Do you have a links for the HotStorm wheels?
Someone had found them on AliExpress awhile back, but I can't find the link. They've completely disappeared off of Amazon.
Thanks for the follow up
@@timothybarnard3407 I saw them on Temu.
Do you have a link for those wheels by any chance?
My searching has been a failure haha
The chassis sags like an '85 Toyota pick up 😅
Yo

I dismissed this truck when i saw it even though i love the body, might make a good "loaner" in my fleet for visiting opportune drivers
