      Agree that it's the best Sinner I've seen, but I would not say Alcaraz is red hot. Alzaraz hasn't been the same since Wimbledon and has been playing mediocre by his standards. I would say Medvedev is way more red hot

      His two keys that I think he is stills lacking is Serving good consistency ( in this tournament like 80% but he serves like 50-60% in tournaments normally) the physical aspect he is improving constantly but he need way more specially to be a real thing in GS. And the variety is something that is doing well already I feel like there is a big space of growing but now he doesn’t seem like a one dimensional player

      Everyone has weakness even when at the top & in form. Sinner still has to watch out for not being goaded into taking big, wild shots when his opponents pick up the pace. There were times in the 2nd set where that started to happen, but he kept it in check overall. In those instances, I implored Sinner through the screen not to push, but instead continue playing clean, relaxed tennis. These guys get so impatient!

    What a PLAYER Sinner is!! An assassin, absolutely SMASHING the ball harder than almost all his contemporaries in complete silence is so refreshing in an era of grunting and moaning and screeching. Ruud is the only other good "quiet" player, but his style is basically Rafa Lite. Sinner's power and accuracy is on another level. Beautiful to watch, the accuracy and power/whip on his shots is so pleasing to the eyes -- and the ears! I'm a Djokovic fan (as an unathletic guy in my mid-30s, I find it incredible that someone a bit older than me is doing THAT on a tennis court), but after he retires, Sinner is by far my favorite player on tour. Not too sure Rune will make up the Next Big Three, but increasingly safe to say Alcaraz and Sinner (and Medvedev, who we should probably include in the Next Big Three -- he's still just 27 and has beaten Carlos in the USO and Sinner 6 times) will entertain for years to come. Hope they stay healthy!

      in my opinion, another one destined to fit into this group of the new generation is Shelton! who I dislike, but in whom I recognize great potential, especially if he puts his head and too much exuberance to rest. I also have some small doubts about Rune, but overall I think he too has the potential to join the group of the best. anyway yes, at this moment the trio of the new generation are Alcaraz, Sinner and Medvedev, even if the Russian is a few years older, but Federer was also 5 years older than Rafa and Nole.

    Omg, I’m totally in awe of Sinner’s play! Completely out of this world and I agree with others this was the best match of his life! His defense was a page out of Novak’s book but his offensive shots were all his and friggin rockets! Congratulations Jannik, well played! 🏆

    The hitting in this match, and also in Sinner-Alcaraz, was so hard that in the matches in the past, even with great hitters like Lendl or Agassi, the hitting looked like in slow motion.

    Sinner has shown a new arrow in the quiver that most guys are lacking at the moment when playing against Alcaraz and Medvedev - who both have freakish retrieval ability. When it seems inevitable that he's about to put the ball away and they miraculously get back on almost even terms, he doesn't panic at all, he's a stone cold killer and just says "nicely done, now keep running asshole" and keeps right on ripping high quality balls.

    Many congrats to Jannik SINNER! It was absolutely a breathtaking tournament from beginning till the end. It was really an extraordinary championship which was attained by professional Italian tennis competitor. His power, precision and resolution are utterly impressive. Moreover, his anticipations are immaculate. He can always withstand the austere offensives and stringent aggressions of his rivals despite the repressure. Particularly, he has pulled the rabbit out of the hat at the most critical points, subduing his adversary in accordance with the equipoise of the rallies.
    Wishing Jannik Sinner good luck in the upcoming tourneys.

    I watched the entire match live in Beijing. Yannik seems like the next Novak to me. He has no technical weaknesses, solid groundstrokes that can compete with Medvedev, fast footwork and top net game to play Alcaraz. He is also calm and steady like a stone, plus a strong physical recovery ability when faced with so much in this tournament. Only a few UEs when he goes for the big hit (like he missed several overheads and drive volleys near the net), but those UEs are just easy balls at the net gained by his solid rallies against Medvedev. And what even more surprised me was that he managed to overcome this in the last few games and won the match! What a big head and mental power he has!

    • @giedriusk.4321
      @giedriusk.4321 Рік тому +7

      Not even close to Novak, very different style of play. Novak is defending first and Jannik is playing pure attacking tennis. it's more like Federer.

    • @poppmeow7586
      @poppmeow7586 Рік тому

      But I think Novak is actually an offensive player. Being the world's best defender doesn't necessarily mean that he's a defensive player. Novak tends to stand closer to the baseline than many other baseline players like Nadal and Rublev, and he often likes to hit on the rise, initiate a down-the-line, hit a drop shot, and come to the net when he has the chance. He only looks defensive when he's faced with the world's best attacking player like Federer and Alcaraz. @@giedriusk.4321

    Very pleased with the improvement Sinner has shown with Cahil.
    He was a baseline ball basher like Rublev, but he's a lot more comfortable at the net now.
    I didn't think I'll see Sinner successfully serve and volley yet here he is. Remarkable improvement in just a few months.

    It’s subtle, but Jannik’s backhand down the line is what kept Medvedev guessing, since Jannik’s crosscourt play is so lethal. Jannik used to error on the deuce side a lot, or just hit weak shots here, especially under pressure. What a win, and what willpower.

    He has no apparent weakness . He’s a continuous rockets launcher , he’s got Federer’s elegance in behaving on the court , novak’s return , rafa’s stamina . He’s clever , high strong mentality , hard worker. No Moans and dramas on the court . Despite of other players results there’s actually no better combination of qualities on the tour so far . Well done jannick you r making your country proud
