I think Jannik’s style has changed a lot since the next gen final 5 years ago (a winner as a wild card, btw). Back then, he had more flair in his game and came to the net more. But now, he has become a killing machine with unbelievable pace and accuracy.🎉

As an italian living in France i can say that the french people are really very different. Here you can smell the hatred in the street, this country is so weird and has changed so much in the last few years. The French are unhappy at heart. Italians are something else 🥰
Sadly French always think that they're kings of the world. They're not, and never were, but they never learn, they love to live in their arrogant dream world.
I mean the issue with your statement is that the Italian crowd in Rome is some of the most toxic on the tour. Heckling and insulting players. Here Sinner won so it's not hard to be fair play with the defeated player to virtue-signal

Well done Taylor! It's really impressive the step forward Fritz did in this last part of the year, the road is correct therefore Jannik is proven to be the real deal of this tennis era. Congrats!
Sinner is a phenomenon. He always had the potential , he just needed to put things together. Now that he is able to do it he will become very difficult to stop. He is relentless, insane ball striker. I have never seen such an intense ball striker like Sinner . Fritz didn't do awfully wrong, served brilliantly, was trading blows wih Sinner from the baseline but just when it mattered the most in clutch moments Sinners quality prevailed. One of the most dominating hard courts seasons capped off with one of the most dominating ATP finals victory in history. The only player to win the ATP finals without loosing a set since 1986 if my memory serves me right....
Fritz is a talented player. Hits the ball like a hammer, but IMHO he is too much "on his legs". He has to move faster, sometimes with one step more he would be in the right position for the perfect shot but it seems like he doesn't want or he simply can't run.
@@ilmatanela1816 I agree. Fritz has all of the weapons necessary to go up against the big hitters. His biggest liability is his movement. If he improved his court speed and positioning, he could challenge these guys to win tournaments. I'm not sure that's something that can be improved through coaching though, as it is more of a physical limitation than a technical one.
The humility of the guy, his calm on the court, the way he control his emotions need to be thaught in in every tennis academies in the World. I am impress. 🎉

Jannik is playing obviously some high level tennis. The real question is, just how does someone beat him? Whoever it is, they will need some weapons, and will have to redline from start to finish, attempting first strike literally every chance. I just don't see anyone able to stay with him in extended play. His balance is crazy, and that means his movement and power are on point, allowing solid swing path in the strike zone. It's a real pleasure to watch him play.
Sinner served a lot better than in their US Open match, but somehow Fritz was able to make it more competitive. He definitely played a very good tournament and deserves to be world #4. But Sinner... That guy is something else. On hardcourt, he is as good as the big 3 were in their best years.
He was the most probable winner... and he won. Without dropping a set, all won with 6 games. Resilient, reliable, responsible. Jannik Sinner is a machine right now. I admit that I personally don't like his playing style much - just like I don't like Djokovic', as a Federer enthusiast - but I'm impressed nonetheless. It's a pity that he still has to deal with this WADA shenanigans for a matter of mere rule interpretations, because it's undisputed that he didn't cheat. What's worse is that the verdict will come out right in the middle of the Australian Open... that has to defend. Way to ruin the career of the current best player in the world by a long shot.
It's interesting how Alcaraz, DeMinaur, Medvedev, Tsitsipas or Đoković, Nadal, Federer, Sampras never had to deal with WADA. And now WADA is a bad guy because suspecting two times positive on steroids shouldn't be explained by 12 IQ "It's not me, it's my physiotherapist!"
Taylor Fritz can be proud for reaching the finals; he has definitely improved a lot this year. As for Sinner - there's just something very respectful with how he does a lot of things. Jannik said kind words to and about the umpire during his speech, even if he didn't have to. Jannik kept his celebration subdued, probably giving recognition to Taylor and his bitter defeat. Jannik also politely deflects praise given to him and redirects these to his fans, his family and his team. I think Jannik's overall approach to being humble and respectful is one of the key things that really sets him apart. Such a welcome change to the current "look at me and how great I am" culture nowadays.
Sinner is simply stunning. He always has such positive energy along with absolute self belief. He has a great dropshot to compliment his ridiculous power.
Sinner was outstanding and is a most deserving champion. Congratulations to him and his team. I must say though, I have been very impressed with the improvement in Fritz's game over the last 2 years, particularly his movement. Of all the top 8 guys, he is the least agile and naturally gifted IMO but he has really worked hard and it shows.
Sinner didn't lose more than 4 games in any set in this entire tournament against top players of 2024 ..That's not normal . We waited 40+ years to have an Italian who could win trophies consistently. Well it was worth the wait. Sinner was attacked for skipping some Davis matches and for residing in Montecarlo, but he proved his strategy was right, in both cases.

€11 000 000.00 Wow!!!! May I please have just a little Cash from that to buy a return flight ticket from Germany to visit my family in South Africa during December 2024?
Considering the greatest baseline players from the 2000's, (excluding greats like Connors, Borg, and Wilander) like Djokovic, Murray, Agassi, Nadal and Nalbandian, where would you put Sinner? IMO, he's right there with prime Djokovic (and that's a hard pill to swallow for someone who grew watching the Big 3). I think Djokovic is better tactically, better shot variation, and defensively. But the sheer pop Sinner can generate off both flanks, and incidentally, his Topspin rate is also higher than Djokovic... which makes his ball extremely heavy- speed +TS, & probably the highest on tour. Sinners power itself could neutralize the defensive and other attributes that Djokovic possesses. Djokovics extreme agility is probably countered with Sinner superior reach. It would have been fascinating to see prime Djokovic dueling with this version of Sinner from the baseline. I'll have to pick Djokovic, though.
Let Sinner win every Grandslam twice, that's including the French, where he's most susceptible. Let him also face and convincingly defeat all the players from the generation coming after the new-gen. Let him get to at least 10-15 slams. Then, it will be fair to compare their baseline game. See, a great skill that Djokovic has, which is often overlooked, is adaptibility. He's adapted his game and triumphed over almost 3 generations. Sinner frankly only has Alcaraz as equal competition. He hasn't been truly tested.
@@NEO_NEO_777 If you had applied that standard to Federer when comparing to Sampras you could have only said he was better from the baseline after he had won 14+ slams, while he was clearly better long before he achieved this. All you need to do is to look at their raw abilities to judge whether his raw abilities are at a similar level... No matter Djokovic's achievements it still remains true that Sinner hits bigger off both wings and with more spin (this is just factual information). You can also look at how many unforced errors they make. It's much harder to compare movement so this can only be done by looking and judging. And winning titles and on all surfaces depends on many factors other than baseline ability, like Serve, return and mental strength so it actually makes less sense to compare achievements.
Funny Sinner-Fritz stats: RR: 6-4 6-4, Break Points: 2/6 Sinner, 0/1 Fritz, Points: 70 Sinner, 60 Fritz (70/60=1.16=16% more points for Sinner) Final: 6-4 6-4, Break Points: 2/6 Sinner, 0/1 Fritz, Points: 63 Sinner, 54 Fritz (63/54=1.16=16% more points for Sinner) Conclusion: Sinner is roughly 16% better than Fritz at the moment
Fritz is playing Wonderful tennis right now. I bet Fritz will beat Zverev five consecutive times if they played all in a week. But then Sinner is just another level.

Afaik his backhand slice is still used the least on the tour, so that's a big area of improvement STILL. Although Alcaraz can improve as well, especially by hitting into more conservative areas of the court and being slightly more patient.
Ottimo commento.
Well said.
If he manages to stay healthy and to improve the consistency of first serve he will be absolutely unstoppable and he will do the grand slam. Mark my words.

Great gesture from Sinner in his speech mentioning him. ATP should learn.

Man, how clean he gets the ball, its instinct, timing and talent of course with hard work.
You can play as spectacular as Fritz did today and Assassiner still has you. Bravo Jannik! Ripping left and right, and having a magical touch on those drops! Surgical down the line backhand! I don't know how Frtiz managed to hold that well. Kudos to him again! He made this and eye candy match and has been the worthy opposition to world's best at the moment.

Years on and he's doing just that..
What a 2024 for the Italian sensation.

One of the best years for a world. No.1
I think Jannik’s style has changed a lot since the next gen final 5 years ago (a winner as a wild card, btw). Back then, he had more flair in his game and came to the net more. But now, he has become a killing machine with unbelievable pace and accuracy.🎉
People tend to say Carlos has more touch and finesse. But they forgot that Jannik has that too. He just chose to use these less, nowadays. But he can pull it out of his repertoire, at any time. ❤

Are you watching,French crowd?! This is how you should treat the players in your country! The fans in Italy have been so great the whole week. They’ve supported all the players equally.

You've never seen and insane ball striker like him before? You not watched much tennis then?

@@ilmatanela1816 I agree. Fritz has all of the weapons necessary to go up against the big hitters. His biggest liability is his movement. If he improved his court speed and positioning, he could challenge these guys to win tournaments. I'm not sure that's something that can be improved through coaching though, as it is more of a physical limitation than a technical one.
The humility of the guy, his calm on the court, the way he control his emotions need to be thaught in in every tennis academies in the World.

sinner backhand is legendary
Congrats Jannik!
One of THE most dominant seasons. Sinner had an incredible 2024 season.

We waited 40+ years to have an Italian who could win trophies consistently. Well it was worth the wait. Sinner was attacked for skipping some Davis matches and for residing in Montecarlo, but he proved his strategy was right, in both cases.

Si es algo anormal , habrá que ver los gastos que tiene y también las ganancias que proporciona está espectáculo.
Do you count the Six Kings Slam?
maybe you're right, but if we think that Mike Tyson earned (so I read) 60 million $ for a sham boxing match .....
Djokovic è irraggiungibile, amico. Giá solo che li paragoni é un grande complimento a Sinner. Poi il tempo parlerà.
Sinner's a beast who would've given prime Djoker real hell..
Same result as in the group match .
