I watched both the matches live and I think they showed the maturation completed by Sinnar in those two years: now he has all the tools to face every possible situation, and knows where and when to use them
I agree, as far as the players are concerned but maybe a closer look should be given also to the crowd attending these events. I have hardly seen more ill-mannered crowds than in Paris
I'm Italian and I can say that with the exception of Fognini all players here know how to behave in and out of the court. Talking about American tennis players besides I remember only Sampras as one with good manners (apart being a legend). Players there rather choose to follow Connors' or McEnroe's models of angers, clownery and outbursts, but at least those two have much more talent.
The main difference is that Frances could fool him when he was 20. The next time they faced when Jannik was at the start of the winning streak that led him to ATP no. 1.
Tiapoe is more interested for his own popularity. I don't think you will ever beat Jannik coz Jannik always hit the ball way from his opponents for impossible return. Andre Agassi had mad an advice eto a young players. And follow his advice
Didn't see anything 'too far' from tiafoe. He told someone in the crowd to shut up which was right and where else could he hit that backhand volley? There was no other passing shot avaliable in that situation. Sinner was just soft
He didn't apologise for the point at the net immediately during the match. Instead he celebrated it with the audience. Something like that in tennis is called "going a bit too far".
What Tiafoe needs to understand is that even if Sinner is playing under Italian flag, he is actually Austrian. The whole region of North Italy was taken from Austria and gifted to Italy by a stroke of the pen at the end of WWI. To expect that Vienna is cheering for him, is a very naive wishful thinking. In the first match, Tiafoe clowned a lot of circus, Sinner got upset and lost focus. Tiafoe was really lucky to get that match through very unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was really embarrassing to watch him two years later trying to pull the same card. Sinner gave him a strong medicine and I am pretty sure that from not on, he will be a lot more restraint in the courts while playing Jannik.
When your best weapon is clownery that's what you get.
❤😅
Tiafoe tried the same trick again but boy, you are not disarming Sinner twice

d'accordissimo
Agreed. Only decent American is Tommy Paul (skills and behavior)
I think the U.S. lacks sports education. They play by the rules of showmanship. Unpleasant hyperbolic buffoonery.

Tiafoe gets a pass because of the color of his skin.
More and more perfect!
Jannik grows everyday and the competitors grow old everyday 😂😊😊
