Whitey Bulger was an extremely charming guy in his non criminal life. I was at a dinner event in the late 80s, seated at a table with Billy Bulger, the 2nd most powerful politician in Massachusetts at the time. Also present was chief lawyer for the City of Boston and his wife. The chief lawyers wife grew up with both Bulger brothers in South Boston. She regaled me with stories about what a wonderful young guy Jimmy (Whitey) Bulger was to grow up with. Her stories had a bit of an edge against Billy Bulger, sitting at our table. A very enlightening evening.
@@louisliu5638 None of that had come out, it was the early 80s. Even liberal Boston Globe's star local columnist was portraying Whitey as a local Robin Hood, who kept crime out of his neighborhood.

There is definitely a lot of eating in this movie. Haha
**P e a c e
better then scorsese usual cocain and violence plus soundtrack let you feel like being criminal is fun........compared to goodfellas thats a movie serious.....but scorscese and his cocain in most movies and violence with great sound.....seems like most people think should killing people make fun? wow
Cumberbatch in the cast?
OK, I am in!
This movie and ex machina so far movies of the year that would have nominations
Mad max fury road
Matt Sobczak that would be amazing. going to see black mass tomorrow, hopefully that does well. also, did you see the trailer for "the big short"? that looks like an oscar contender for sure.
Matt Sobczak yeah, this fall will be great! plus star wars right and the end and hateful eight not too long after. its a great time to be a film fan
+Matt Sobczak Its been nominated for best picture by both the globes and critics choice awards
I only see Peter Russo/Ant Man villain talking to Tom Buchanan from 2013's Gatsby...
7:37 when your woman thinks you’re turning gay.
"he's a psychopathic killer, but he's OUR "psychopathic killer".
@@louisliu5638 None of that had come out, it was the early 80s. Even liberal Boston Globe's star local columnist was portraying Whitey as a local Robin Hood, who kept crime out of his neighborhood.
Johnny is the best actor for sure. I'm a big fan
johnny depp is the man..
Lol as actually he's a Woman For Real real!!
What a great cast. Good movie 🍿
It’s still amazing to me Depp has never won and Oscar. As great as he is he is still extremely underrated.
The actor playing the obviously dirty detective in the first clip is fantastic.
I saw this movie over 10 years ago I remember nothing about it but I automatically knew that that dude was guilty as hell. It's like John Bernthal's ability to make you hate him in the walking dead. It's nothing but fantastic acting.
20,000 that dude was a weirdo I would've thanked him and been on my merry way.
The makeup is a but much but Johnny is truly terrifying in this role. Brilliant performance.
The term ‘criminally underrated’ is criminally overused.
Now I gotta watch it again.
He's gonna get nominated
He deserved it
+Brad Wright Yeah, an oscar snub! Damn it ACADEMY!!!
For the amber heard trial, he killed it there
Benedict Cumberbatch did a really good Boston accent
This film is the best film ever
at the dinner when the guy gives up the family secret, if id been him, I would have said the ingredients are just ingredients what I did not explain was the obsessive detail at which the times amounts temperature how things are mixed or strained over something but not mixed entirely... special things about the process of mixing those ingredients are what make this food taste this way with someone else's process who knows exactly what the end result would produce...
Depp and cast were brilliant....very authentic and as good as Goodfellas
Did he take you tricker treating😂😂😂😂 Hi Regaurd- i love hearing different english dialects from each us state.
Johnny's best role.
"Tom verga grande" was a marvelous actor in this mob movie with the actor Johnny Depp..
🎬🎞️🎥📢🎭💵💰📝🔫🧤🍝🍾🍷🇮🇹
Fukn masterpiece nuff said
The whole movie is excellent!!!❤
How did johnny NOT win a oscar for this IDK crazy
I think it was a great movie, tho they shouldn't of gave away so many trailers/ sneak peeks, I think it would have made the movie a lot better and it would of been more surprising 😉 but it was still an awesome movie to watch!
+Mercedes Bianchi Thats why I avoided clips like this until after I saw it
starbuck4774 Me too :) didn't know about this video. But I find that even the trailers on Tv/Cinema still gave away too much! :/ Great Movie tho :)
+Mercedes Bianchi It's a true story. If anyone read anything about the case knows what was going to happen and how it ended.
+Diostillrocks Im in the middle of reading the book now. And I'm better understanding why the movie focuses so much on John Connolly and John Morris. Even tough, like a mot of movies do, they twek a little things around
Mercedes Bianchi Shouldn't have given...I think you mean.
There I go being picky again.
I met Fred Wyshak during a Mafia trial in Boston a few years after the Bulger trial.I mentioned that I loved Black Mass and he smiled and said "I wish they had found someone with hair to play me".
One of my all time favorite movies.❤️🔥Johnny was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥as Whitey Bulger.
Sheesh talk about a stacked cast
😂 Kevin Bacon reminds me of Dr. Girlfriend from Venture Brothers with his voice.
Backyardmech1 I thought I was the only her thought that!
Good lord! It is Dr Girlfriend.
One give away in the lunch scene was the Bose speaker in the top corner of the wall lol
Amber Heards lawyers are going to end up using these clips to try to make Johnny seem like a villain just watch 😂😂
How Depp didn't win an Oscar for this.........
Johnny Depp looks like a cross between Casper the Ghost and Nosferatu.
Depp is the Best there is in this type of role. He was downright scary as Whitey Bulger.
PS. Love seeing all the guys working together. 🌹
The steak scene... Gets me EVERYTIME!
forgot Kevin bacon was in this movie; always a treat.
Why edit out the swears ? The swears are the f@/;ing. best part !!
I know it's nucking futz !
