i have an idea, what if you make like a cobra knot at the top going over your phone and at the end maybe a diamond knot. at the other side if your phone case an elastic loop, that way you can put the crown knot through the loop. and that way you have extra protection so it doesnt fall out if you fall, running etc
Watching your tutorials has a very calming effect (much like the late great artist Bob Ross). Now, when I attempt this project the stress level, I am sure is going to rise.
Very nice work. I can weave both sides at the same time … instead of pulling the line through, I make a simple loop and pull that through with a crochet hook. I don’t use the cobra stitch for the edges so I can just slide half of the loop to the back side of the case. Repeat as often as necessary, and for the final step, you just run the end of cord through (without the loop).
Love the channel. Getting as new phone today so I might look into making one of these. I have a suggestion for a vid. You have made wallets and belt loops for keys. How about a paracord chain to tie them together? I do like chain wallets.
The Weavers of Eternity Paracord Tutorials U Rock! Where did you get your tools from? I'm getting into weaving, braiding and knotting paracord, now. Lol
Great minds think alike. Almost identical to the ones I make. Made the first one for my galaxy A5. I use a weave style on the sides that use twice as much and do an over 2, under 2 pattern and I use a block of plywood. You can make a strap to create positive retention with a side release buckle and a fishtail weave anchored to the front and back..and these things last for YEARS!! Great job!!
I made one! Not perfect, but I think it will be what I use for the foreseeable future. I went with all black. (If it's good enough for Johnny Cash........)
Wow i just love this project and i also find the color scheme perfect. I'm going to make one for my phone as well, but since i still have an iPhone 5s which is smaller than the one you're using for the demonstration, it might be a little more difficult to weave the cords, but i'going to try anyway. I have to say though the first time i saw this case on the screen it reminded me of the knitted slippers my grandmother use to do for us (not a bad memory for me at all) :-)
@@TheWeaversofEternity I only started this week to watch Paracord videos and i'm already hooked and my head is spinning with ideas. Now that i have seen this i'm thinking of an iPad case with a rear strap on it and/or a belt to wear it across my chest for when i am doing Real Estate photography (iPad is used to control the camera and see the results immediately). Perhaps a rigid plastic backing would be needed to have the needed rigidity but it's certainly possible. Thank's again for sharing your videos they"re both instructive and relaxing.
Great project, unfortunately I don't have fids yet, I don't have anything besides paracords to be honest, even those little buckles to make great bracelets... So, I'm just watching for now but this would be super useful considering jeans pockets are somehow always a bit too small to carry a phone without being in the way when driving.
This was so awesome to watch. Always wanted a Paracord phone case and you do it. But I have a ZTE blade z max so mine is huge with the phone case already. Any take on how much more Paracord I would need?
The phone I used in the video is my Oneplus 6T which is 6.5" so it should be about the same as your phone, if not bigger than your phone if I'm not mistaken.
I suppose you can minimize the cord twisting by straightening it the way you want before running it thru the loops, and when pulling use both hands, one hand you pinch the cord with 2 fingers (thumb/index) and pull with the other, the cord might run straight without twisting, since your forcing it to prevent twisting. I do this when passing the shoe laces. Btw, superb design, gonna give it a try!
For the belt loops and crossings of the pouch, what else could we use to flatten the paracord and keep its shape? I have a soldering iron, would this be too hot to use? I also have a nail that I can use to fish the cord through between the cobra knots. Thanks in advance, have a good day.
Yes you can, I heavily modified mine so it wraps around my leg and the phone holder is about 4 inches lower from my belt. It also has a paracord lock so my phone won't slip out.
The measurements I used are at 0:26 and it depends on how big your pouch will be. If you're really afraid of coming up short, (which is worse than having too much imo), just overshoot my measurements by a couple feet each.
Get the Otterbox too. Trust me. I've been using a nearly identical punch for years and still manage to crack the screen protector every now and then, even with the Otterbox. Also, fishtail weave loops ride a little nicer on the belt IMO
Where do you get the medal thing to feed the cord through the knots? I went to the craft store where they have the paracord things and I can't find them. Are they used for something else?
How cool, if possible make a case for radio communicator, PTT, I work as a vigilante, and I would like to see a cover like this of the video for radio communicator type walkie-talkie.
As someone that is new to using fids, how do I put them on the gutted paracord? I know how to put them on regular paracord, I'm just wondering if its done the same or if there is a different way to do it.
There isn't any real different way to put fids on gutted cord. As long as there's a bit of melted cord on the end for the threads of the fid to bite onto, it should work out just fine.
Is it possible to make something similar to this, but only cobra on the sides, having the front and back piece continue around the bottom? Also include a flap on top?
How do I decide how much cord I need for the ‘border’? When messing around my phone it is 13 inches. How much 550 paracord should I use for the edge/border??
Dude this is so dope. What’s the best website to buy para cord? I wanna get the best price and best variety of colors? Also the necessary tools for certain projects. I wanna do this as a hobby.
@@TheWeaversofEternity clever, very clever. I was also thinking, why stop at a single cobra weave, you could double or triple up and make it as wide as you want. What do you think?
You could definitely do that! If anything you can always make the cobra knot "border" of the case extend all the way around the phone and connect it with a small buckle.
I found that when I made mine I made it just the size of the phone so even as I’m climbing up and down a ladder or crawling around in a crawl space (for work) it’s snug enough that it doesn’t slip... I also made the side borders with non gutted cord so the inside dimensions made it snug
Nice case but I keep my phone in my pocket slipcase fashion. I used to wear it on my belt but after breaking a clip and damaging my phone, I decided the pocket was the best place for it.
[2] x 7ft (213 cm) Grey 550 paracord *Gutted* Which I is already 14 ft how can it be approximately 17 ft used if we are going to cut out another [2] x 10.5 ft and [2] x 3 ft
Hello all, Well I recently upgraded my phone to a Samsung galaxy a71 5g and had to repurpose the previous cases. Does anyone know of a knot I can use to make a thicker boarder in place of the cobra knot section? Thanks in advance and have a good day!
Very cool, but isn't the point of making things out of paracord to have it available in case of an emergency and you need rope? With all this gutted paracord aren't you kind of defeating the purpose? I'm pretty new to the paracord game so maybe there's something missing here.
another thing you could do is use flat strips of leather for the flat sides weaved together and then the cobra weave for the narrow edge to have a nice contrast.

This is absolutely amazing! I'm going to make this right now, I've made a watch strap, bracelet and a necklace key holder. Lol I'm paracord crazy
I've been wanting a "pouch" to carry spare magazines in. This is a good start for that project.

That’s a nice 6t you got there...
With the white gutted strands you could keep them and dye them to make some micro cord
I'm making this but I'm going to make it into a everyday carry (EDC) POUCH I will post pics when its done
Did you make it?
Hello. Can you make a cover version too?
What's that metal thing you are using and how do you get the cord in it.
This is so cool I really want to try this someday
Wonder if you could add a loop to lock phone in so it wouldn’t fall out upside down
Yes you can, I heavily modified mine so it wraps around my leg and the phone holder is about 4 inches lower from my belt. It also has a paracord lock so my phone won't slip out.
How much cord do need? So you do not come up short or long?

Could you make one for a police or fire rescue holder
What do you call that needle

$80 for an Otterbox or $12 in cord and an hour watching Netflix while weaving. Hmmm, lemme think...

I think it's possible with enough playing around, I don't know how it would turn out though.

I think someone made a paracord backpack, but using a different technique. The video should be on UA-cam as well I think.

Can you add a cross to the cell phone outside
What, may ask, is the metal thing you put the paracord into to make it easier to fit through small gaps?

Yep, you can just add buckles to both ends of the cobra knot frame essentially making one long bracelet and then weave the sides on from there.

Can u put paracord designs on the cell phone case paracord

Only if dirt gets on the screen. The paracord is much softer than the screen.

stripping the chords makes it pretty much useless in survival
This is not something I'd make with survival in mind. Not all paracord crafts are meant to be taken apart for survival purposes.
