Hey there, you reading through the comments trying to feel surrounded by people who understand just how deeply you feel this kind of music or life in general. You're not alone.
Timothy Ramos yeah I think it’s because we live in a great time for songwriters. We are blessed with the likes of Justin Vernon, Jason Isbell, Sufjan Stevens, The Tallest Man on Earth, and many.
I often wonder why none of my friends feel about music like I do - the nights I'm lost in this kind of music ain't countable no more - I just wander, feeling warm and cold at the same time, and whatever feelings it gives me, I just keep coming back for more - any people experiencing the same thing, or is it just me?
i wanna listen to this driving home from the smokey mountains, the suns setting, i just got done a really nice hike, thought about life for a while, finally felt okay with things, and i'm heading home, it's gonna be a long drive but i'm looking forward to every second of it
This is the kind of music that makes your life better. No matter what's happening, what you're going through. You play stuff like this and the world is beautiful.
The magic of bon iver - makes me feel homesick for a place ive never been. Its impossible for me to not remember all the people i care about when i hear this song
My sons and I go walking in Pilbara in Western Australia. When we get up to a peak on a hill, we play Bon Iver. My son is 7 and says, can you play Holocene because I want to have a melt down (he means meditation 😂)… We sit there and watch the wedge tail eagles flying around and melt down ❤❤❤😂
beautiful, i grew up in the pilbara smack bang in between port hedland and marble bar. ended up moving to the city because of work, but recently went back and had justin vernon amongst other music and it damn near brought me to tears, glad to know someone else has shared a similar experience :)
My dog has bellowed to this song with every harmonica crescendo since she first heard it as a puppy. As she lays in my arms now withering away from kidney disease, I can still feel her body trembling wanting to get the howl out one last time, but she hasn’t the energy anymore. It’s just the most beautiful sad thing I have ever experienced in my life and it kills me.
Dear One, sending thoughts of love and healing to you and your dear dog. Angels send their love and your sweet angel feels it to the depths of their soul. The precious love that your sweet dog blesses you with is eternal. Cry on, love never dies dear one.
Once you take a good listen on any Bon Iver song, you can never get out of it. For me, there have never been periods! Bon Iver has always been filling my days with his music! Justin Vernon really is unbeatable.
They need to release this live version on an EP or album. This reworked version is just so pure and touching. It means a lot to me. Pure musical art. Best regards from Holland!
This man is without a doubt one of the most brilliant musicians to ever roam this planet. And he even adds so much more to all his musical genius. What an extraordinary artist he is. Breathtaking.
I love the original version, but this rendition is pure magic. Same with the live version of Heavenly Father from this concert. I know Justin seems to be heading down a direction with many more electronic tones being added, but these stripped down versions are my absolute favorite of his.
I immigrated to the USA last year and I remember listening to this music in our new apartment with no bed, lying on the ground feeling sad for what I had left but hopeful to what was to come. Listening to this song takes me back to that night after a hard day of work in my dark room with no lamps. Oh what I have left. Oh what is to come.
I could listen to the the last minute of this song on repeat til I die. I always come back to these Sydney Opera House performances, without a doubt one of his best live shows. Dude is just ridiculous.
he ain't right! when he combines voice and harmonica simultaneously at the end. everything this man touches is precious, sensitive and damn right fucking marvellous.
The reaction from the crowd, when Justin says 'Calgary', gives me shivers every time. They're aware of the special moment they're about to enjoy and, even after 1000 listens, I still can't shake the feeling that this guy is an absolute genius storyteller of a songwriter. That's even before you consider how unbelievable his range is as well as the natural talent for music he has.
I was at this show and I sobbed so hard the entire time even the waterproof mascara I purchased especially for the show (knowing I would cry) ran all down my face 🫠
@@ellen9018 Same for me when he came to Atlanta. He played Heavenly Father and I just about went to pieces. Bon Iver is one of the only bands I refuse to memorize their lyrics because it means something different every time I listen. Overwhelming, overwrought and overjoyed, all at the same time.

I never had a boyfriend so I'm gonna have a Bon Iver fan in the right time, but if none, I'm gonna live my life alone but not lonely cuz I have Bon Iver ♥️.
Justin/Bon Iver always has the power to make me feel all alone in the world, but also like there is something big waiting out there for me. Like the sweetest kind of solitude and melancholy combined, and I keep coming back for more. Few other artists can do that. He is a treasure for sure.
A perfect blend of art, music, poetry, soul, deeply resonating within. I somehow blossom anew each time I listen, somehow also feel adrift...this song is a gift to my senses. Thank you.
Despite the chaos in the World, we still seek a sliver of solace in the manifestation of human love through a song, a movie, a painting or some form. Our memories of peace and love triggered by it. It is profound. Love and peace to all.
