I am a guy born in Poland, working in the Czech Republic, staying in South Africa at the moment. I am drinking coffee at 04:25 AM, trying to figure out what to do with my life. No answers in my head yet but somehow listening to this masterpiece is making me feel fine. Can I have nothing but still be happy?
I am 74 years old and I have “everything “. Wealth, health, live in a beautiful place… But I am no more or less “happy “ than when I had less of these. You might want to read the books by Cormac McCarthy comprising the “border trilogy “.

Barely do I feel the way I feel when listening to this. There's safety and peace in this music, an air of divinity, like entering heaven. 2020 has been a year to forget for many (arguably) most people on earth. Still, coming back to this within so much chaos and uncertainty is a sort of connection to the very core of human existence. God Bless Bon Iver for this gift and God bless you, yeah you, the one scrolling down. May you find strength to wake up every day and love around you. I don't know you but we share something and for that I send you the best wishes.
Bon Iver's music is like when its snowing slowly outside and you are looking at it from your window, hot chocolate in your hand and a fire burning with a book near you. You are in a cabin in the forest near a lake and nothing is moving outside except snow. The time seems to stop and you feel like you could watch this forever. Take this time of peace for you.
@@taniyaghosh9452 That's funny because I used to think that a lot - until one very hot and sunny summer I was interning downtown and used to listen to a LOT of Bon Iver while walking in the busy streets in the summer heat - I was young and careless and now his early albums reminds me of that time... Ironic considering Bon Iver (bon hiver) means ''good winter'' in french.
Emma is someone, something, somewhere that happened. You'll never shake Emma from your bones. It's the exact place and moment that you were and will always remember as Emma. They were lovely, they were all you wanted to be, and what you hated. Emma found their way inside you. We all have to understand that Emma was forever ago, but they still sleep inside us, and not far out of our minds and memories.

Does anyone else feel a loss for words when trying to explain what is attractive about Bon Iver's art? Its alluring and elusive. It is sometimes beautiful noise and other times its a place to get lost and found in.
These songs bring me back to a rainy grey day in Glasgow, filled with hopes for the future, memories of the past and a contentment of being in the present, listening to some great music.
Isn't it amazing how music breaks down barriers and sees no borders. We are one when we are taking the journey. the artist has set the roads before us and there are friends at every crossroad!
New Year’s Day 2020 I awoke in Eau Claire following a night of questionable decisions and misdirected passion. The day prior a huge snow storm had passed through. I put on “For Emma, Forever Ago” and nothing could have been more fitting. As someone who was born and raised in the Eau Claire area I am infinitely and perpetually grateful and proud that this music was born there.
Love that you used a train as the backdrop: in 2010, I rode public trains and buses with Bon Iver in the headphones everyday:) Good memories with the greatest music. We are blessed to have Justin Vernon

On mother's day of 2018, I broke my leg trying to catch a frisbee (of all things.) I was living at a Catholic seminary in Nebraska at the time and I was supposed to spend the summer break painting walls and doing a bunch of other manual labors. I couldn't do that to the extent I could have if I hadn't had broken my leg, so they gave me a different job; repainting a bunch of statues of saints. I spent the entire summer, minus two weeks of visiting family, painting eleven or twelve statues in a room with a large T.V. that could access UA-cam, and I listened to this very playlist (you should have seen this film on the HD screen), alongside Sleeping At Last, and the track to Hollow Knight. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing summers I've ever had. This playlist recently popped up on my page, and I'm relistening to it for the second or third time this past month. It's bringing back a lot of good memories of that broken-legged, music-filled, saint-accompanied summer rolling around on a knee scooter to get to the hard parts of the statues' robes. This music has memory!
This is so damn cool with the view from a train. Something about trains makes me feel nostalgic and excited for the future at the same time. Many fond memories of being on a train to somewhere. Looking forward to when I can do this again, whenever this pandemic ends :( What a crazy time we are in.
Life is never what we expected, sometimes it's better or sometimes worst but most of the time it's like traveling through places we don't know with a background song that make you feel like the road is worth it.
Just laying in my room listening to this on a cloudy day, watching the snow melt down the window as the trees pass by; I can feel the season of winter thru and thru on a may afternoon! Wonderful collaboration of cinematography and music!
This train shot makes me feel nostalgic for a few years ago, coming home from college in Chicago to Michigan for Christmas. Definitely listened to a lot of 22, A Million during those train rides too since it just came out. This view is almost identical to what it looked like out of my window. Thanks for documenting this man, I'll definitely be visiting this video more often. Lots of love in this room :) stay up everybody!

The blessing of Bon Iver ends life’s journey of our impairs, gracefully comforts our hearts and helps us to be appreciative of each and every one of our hairs.
I hope more people are afforded the opportunity to hear this compilation - well done!!! Bon Iver his notes, his highs and lows he takes us on a ride with him...soothing and hypnotic.
its sad to me that bon iver isnt as widely appreciated as he should be, my father got me to enjoy his masterful works of art at the ripe age of 7, and it has stuck with me since. :))
the first time I stumble upon track complation in particular in Jun 2019 in a chalinging time of my life and had it on play on loop over and over again, it has inspired me alot and conforted me at the same time. This May, I found myself in need of those uplifting moments and soothing reassurances; I'm glad to find this complation again.

Perth was my first introduction to Bon Iver. Every time I listen to it, it takes me back to those mundane moments and I am always amazed by the vividness of it. It’s like I’m there and here at the same time. Loved the playlist.
so glad you included the live version of Heavenly Father, seems very unknown and underrated but is one of my all time favorite performances. So much Passion!
I just got home from the beach. I listened to BI a lot. It's crazy how the vibe of their music goes so well with the beach... and a train looking at snow. Peace and love from Massachusetts!
Without fail, these songs put my eight-month-old to sleep. I love that he is so comfortable with Bon Iver. And thank you for putting this together! Much love!
Good Winter all! This is a great vibe. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Just remember everything will be alright. Thanks for sharing - love Stargazer XOXO
The most profound moment I have of Bon Iver is listening to the album For Emma, Forever Ago watching heavy snowfall through an off-grid cabin window way out in the mountains.
This playlist can’t have me singing at the top of my lungs, crying for help from the top of a mountain or just weeping and sobbing at frames of my own life’s lense. I’m always so thankful that most of our lives are fuck ups as so we can bring ourselves back to this to remind ourselves that this is normality

I don't know if he will be able to live a life that is not vibrant. He doesn't seem to want to live. He has lost everything, and now his
health. I told him it's just
stuff, we all start over, and rebuild, but he can't fix losing 60% of his lung capacity. I'll never give up. Im scorpio. My consolation is that he is scorpio too. So let me just say that you are not alone. Far too many can relate. I just find joy in any
Small way I can. This week im learning to make cheese.
Next week I'll try to some-
Thing else. I stay away from most people tho. Its crazy out there! But one can go anywhere and do anything

Thank you. It's nice to listen to the singer's music that I got to know thanks to my nephew yesterday.
thank you for creating this playlist, my cat loves bon iver and i always play it for him when he isn’t feeling well & he always falls asleep to it. thank you for the comfort this playlist brings to not only my cat but myself.
I hope your kitty is feeling better! Mine was recently sick and it gave us a scare. Mine definitely loves Bon Iver
Such a moving collection
the best mix of bon iver. i listen almost every day
Me too. Specially when i'm stoned.
This comment section warmed my heart in a way that I wish I could express to you all.
its sad to me that bon iver isnt as widely appreciated as he should be, my father got me to enjoy his masterful works of art at the ripe age of 7, and it has stuck with me since. :))
Heavenly Father at the Sydney Opera House brings a tear to my eye every single time i hear it.
i always come back here..... what a peaceful masterpiece.
the first time I stumble upon track complation in particular in Jun 2019 in a chalinging time of my life and had it on play on loop over and over again, it has inspired me alot and conforted me at the same time. This May, I found myself in need of those uplifting moments and soothing reassurances; I'm glad to find this complation again.
Sean McKeowan you are a hero. Lovely compilation strong visuals. Keeping me alive in 2020.
Simplesmente amo essas músicas!!! To indo aí nesse trem de vez em quando, em pensamento 😊❤
Love the visual. Classic leading lines and rule of thirds. The openness of the endless forest is mesmerizing.
Great list, but one major omission...The Wolves.
Or Calgary over some of the newer stuff. Holocene however is the best song of all time.
And credit to the person who created the video footage.
@@holocene. That one and Perth
also do not forget Lump Sum
Pretty much every song of their's belongs on "Greatest Hits"
Super excited I got tickets to see Bon Iver and Feist !!! October 8th in Columbus Ohio . Traveling from Texas , totally worth it .
how was it
Before watching : I hope that view is real and moving and not just a picture .
During video : this is perfect
It's only a few seconds of recording played on a loop. Same tree patterns keep passing by.
I c ur comment everytime and im always like YEEEAAAH!
Not only a few seconds of recording looped, you can also see light turning to dark.
A melhor playlist do Bon Iver que eu ja ouvi, demais ❤🎶👏
é sempre legal ver BRs curtindo Bon Iver ❤🎶👏
this is my first time listening to Bon Iver. I'm a college student working on a term paper for one of my communications classes, and this playlist has inspired me to keep going. He is amazing. thank you.
Bon Iver means “good winter” in French. The scenery is perfect
Hiver means winter in french, not Iver.
This video is everything 🩷. Things aren't great right now, but this video makes me feel like everything is going to be okay.

The version of “Flume” you put on here had me so caught up in it. Totally felt unworldly. Thank you for incorporating it into your playlist.
I've actually listened to this playlist on multiple winter train rides. It's too perfect.
Perth was my first introduction to Bon Iver. Every time I listen to it, it takes me back to those mundane moments and I am always amazed by the vividness of it. It’s like I’m there and here at the same time. Loved the playlist.
Special composition of music right here. Thanks very much!
i send message to my self in the next 15 years and i just wanna say on thing, "Congratulation, you've made it!"
A good way to close the acid trip. Epic.
Hinnom, TX and The Wolves are my two favorite underrated songs of his that weren’t on here!
Your right I fucking love Hinnom
This is just such a wonderful playlist, and the visual a perfect match. Thank you!
I listen to this insanely often. Thank you
That imagery is truly amazing, it made me actually miss the frigid winters from my childhood
i’ve been coming back to this video for over a year now. currently taking a train through italy and this was the first thing i thought to listen to
This is what I needed for finals. Thank you so much.
This has gotten me through so many hard days. ❤
I wish this playlist was infinite
so glad you included the live version of Heavenly Father, seems very unknown and underrated but is one of my all time favorite performances. So much Passion!
it's cold outside, wonderful Songs
Love it. The train ride reminds me of Before Sunrise, one of my faves
This is my winter GO TO mix every year! Simply perfect
I just got home from the beach. I listened to BI a lot. It's crazy how the vibe of their music goes so well with the beach... and a train looking at snow.
Peace and love from Massachusetts!
I wanna listen to all of this while on that train...my god it's great music.
holy crap, ive never heard of this version of flume, its pretty haunting. where can this version be found?
Flume (Myspace Transmissions)
Nothing quite like this video for me. Always coming back to this while working or having it on in the house during little activities.
This entire video makes me feel perfect.
That version of 'Heavenly Father' is the BEST!
Without fail, these songs put my eight-month-old to sleep. I love that he is so comfortable with Bon Iver.
And thank you for putting this together! Much love!
wholesome
Happy birthday to your young one
@@jayharry2237 Thank you!
Just discovered bon today. I love finding new artists that are for the music.. you can feel it:)))
Absolutely moving emotional journey. Timeless. Thank you.
I still listen to this almost every day. Such a good playlist.
Such a beautiful video & music . I love Bon Iver - from Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦

Good Winter all! This is a great vibe. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Just remember everything will be alright. Thanks for sharing - love Stargazer XOXO
Thank you. This is the best Bon Iver mix/compilation ever!! I listen to it every day. Thank you.
The most profound moment I have of Bon Iver is listening to the album For Emma, Forever Ago watching heavy snowfall through an off-grid cabin window way out in the mountains.
Thanks for this playlist. I can't express how effectively the first song helped me get through. I hope you have a great day, too.
I listened to the entire thing. Listening to Bon Iver truly is an experience. 🔥 📠 💯🤯
This is a gem. Thank you
Beautiful song with so much meaning behind it!
This playlist can’t have me singing at the top of my lungs, crying for help from the top of a mountain or just weeping and sobbing at frames of my own life’s lense. I’m always so thankful that most of our lives are fuck ups as so we can bring ourselves back to this to remind ourselves that this is normality
i don't mind staying up all night at coffee shops alone as long as i am listening to this playlist ((:
currently doing that as I type this
I've ridden on this train so many times 😋thanks for this great mix
