This is criminally underrated. The inclusion of the absolutely insane guitar solos in the Darkest Lord theme is by far the most beautiful part about this.
@JanusHoW I would pay that much for it (I emulated the 3DS version, which was fantastic), I just don't have a switch. It has endless playability technically, and I have also been thinking of replaying it too. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the auto combat system and map system, but I would look at some game play before buying it if I were you.

And the switch version allows more creativity in character design and it looks better than the ds version all the way. The funny little quips in between each level make this enjoyable and give a good belly laugh. Of course its not for everybody but if you enjoy turnbased combat, goofy characters and classes, funny moments, and story, you’ll like this game
i will warn you if you get it for ds (which you definitely won't) you'll want to 100% every level (this is shown with the level circle being gold instead of grey) as the end of area bosses will wipe the floor with you. i would wipe my file again and again never exiting the first area with one exception, the farthest i got was on one playthrough (were i started as the thief and named the character ronin, can you tell i grew up while & watched ninjago as it released) were i stopped and gave up at Dominic the dragon, the only other time i got that far was just before the switch version released were i beat every level 100% and found it quite easy.
Funny how the protagonist acquires a faster mode of transportation for every world he travels, from walking in Greenhorne, to driving a 53 Corvette in Neksdor, to driving a racing Gallardo with the stock NFS Lamborghini sound in The Fey, back to feet but with aid of the Sage, to eventually laying waste to everything in his path with a bulldozer up to the final boss
My favorite part about this entire thing is that every main character actually wears the proper outfit a resembles the role of the character. Aw man, it's beautiful

Here are a few little things that could've made it better / more detailed: The shield sprinkes should have made them Ubered The hyper sprinkes should give them kritzkrieg particle effects Saxton Hale as the general, not just Heavy Spycrab as a type of monster Skeleton as a type of monster When Merasmus teleports he should use the teleport effect Why was the reborn reborn as heavy not scout? When something is hit put the hit number, same with healing More sniper Maybe there is a part 2 showing the postgame, and have sniper as elf and vampire, and saxton hale as the explorer

you should really play it, it sold very well on 3ds, one of the top 50 on the system, and sold just as well on the switch. such a good mii game, definitely rivals wii sports and tomodachi life in quality and care (aside from switch sports, we dont talk about that)
This is just a massive love letter to Miitopia. It’s so charming and so accurate to how it feels playing the game, even down to some of the details during battle being right out of the original game. Now I want to replay Miitopia again. For me, that’s a normal thing that I do on the regular.
As a huge fan of Miitopia and TF2, I can say this was a very charming and funny retelling of a game that's already funny and charming. TF2 is such a perfect choice for it too, using cosmetics to represent Miitopia's characters/jobs and even status effects. Their walk cycles being sped-up Conga/Kazotsky is also not even that far off from some of the wackier walk cycles from Miitopia. Well done!

After every region, the Dark Lord takes your teammates, and your protagonist's current powers. You then have to choose a new class, and you get 3 new teammates throughout the course of the new region.
My Miitopia playthrough had a lot of TF2 characters and I had the dark lord as Pyro. Of course, it was only natural that the dark curse ended up being a pair of Pyrovision Goggles.
My 2 Miitopia playthroughs I have Pyro as the Genie in my So-called Adventure in Miitopia And I had the Heavy as the Genie in my 7th Playthrough of this game
That Darkest Lord fight with the "set everyone to 1HP" attack, the follow-up attack triggering a three-person Sacrifice from everyone else, leaving Heavy the Stubborn Thief to finish the fight alone was so amazing. Gotta be my favorite, though I also loved the way you visualized things like the attack skills and the Dark Lord taking away your party members.
Absolutely incredible! The only slight criticism I have is that I wish you had more variety in the characters you chose, there was a lot of heavy and not a lot of Sniper. Other than that, absolutely stunning!
As somebody who was there when Miitopia was first announced, followed all the trailers, played the early demos, bought the game on launch, and played it not only on 3DS but also on Switch, I must admit that I absolutely love this. Pretty much everything that made this game feel great is now in a fun bite-sized video... this is rather magical.
23:47 ... This man just pulled out Algodoo for a single scene in this entire video. A sandbox physics engine game from 2010. That's a nostalgia trip and a half for me.
You followed the plot of the original game very well, while also implementing some of your own comedy! This is really creative, and the fact that you managed to express the character’s emotions with very few words and set voice lines was incredible, also, the use of Algodoo (I think that’s how it’s spelt.) when they destroyed the sign was incredible, every enemy’s design is perfectly translated into the TF2 style, also, the fact that The Darker (and Darkest,) Lord wields a staff made out of Lego bionicles is incredible.
Clicked on this expecting a condensed Miitopia playthrough using Valve characters for the faces. Stuck around for the incredible amount of love and effort that went into making this animation slap. It's not the best TF2 content I've seen, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't an absolute treat from top to bottom. Good animations, great humor, and a kickass ending!

I'm so glad this randomly came up in my recommendations, I have played Miitopia myself and I've had a blast watching this animation/video. I found this randomly through recommendations. Although I am barely even 30 minutes into this video, I can tell this was made with loads of love and care. This is genuinely a stunning animation and I'm shocked that this doesn't have more views. Although I don't play Team Fortress, I'm genuinely astonished at this videos creativity and characters (..although, this could be canon seeing as Miitopia allows custom miis.. lol). In short, this is one of the best videos I have watched on this platform. In creativity and passion, this takes the cake. Perhaps something else will topple it from this position of mine one day, but I am overjoyed to have been recommended this video. Also, a Flower being useful in a playthrough, a miracle! The amount of time and effort this must have taken editing-wise is insane. This genuinely has every major plot point in Miitopia, uses customized character models based on TF2 and Miitopia class designs, and has some genuinely funny comedic timing??? Whew what a treat!
I can't believe I am almost a year late to watch this and words can't even describe how much I loved this as Miitopia and TF2 are in my heart forever. The dedication, the effort it took to make this... Thank you so much, Petya.
This is a masterpiece, its as funny as TF2 and normal Miitopia, i still dont know how this hasnt been taken down by Nintendo yet, im glad it hasnt tho.
Small game inconsistency, Tank Soldier must've had +99 speed from food cause he's somehow not always going last. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THIS IS TERRIBLE, IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Popstar spy killed me, the party member abduction was exactly how it feels, The emphasis on how much of a banger the final boss theme is with the amazing music timing to Heavy's last stand, the Hyper sprinkle steamroll, and the way alot of game mechanics were showcased without butchering the flow of the video. The only thing that was missing was when your party members go full anime with Resurgence and Last Wish*. (*i think that's it's name?) (**oh, and personality quirks didn't have much showcase, although that's minor.) Masterpiece.
In terms of the personality quirks I dont think that would have worked outside of move interactions (like respective party members getting pissed from moves such as spicy dish and human cannonball) because outside of certain characters such as soldier and demonman or heavy and medic in game the mercs don't really interact much if at all and in the game proper you can have everyone just sleep in their own rooms at the inns and leave the interactions up to RNG but then again in terms of the story in the video it may mess up the tempo having an emotion based moment happen in the middle of a fight which is why the previously mentioned attacks and such happening only during the first final boss not that it wouldn't have been good to see but if it's not introduced appropriately then it just feels out of place in terms of the video story
I did this in game and my classes were Scout: theif (speed) Soldier:pop star (he yells) Pyro: chef (fire) Demoman: warrior (nuff said) Heavy: tank(yes) Engi: scientist Medic: cleric Sniper: elf(bow) Spy: imp ( because he feels like one)
So that leaves wizard, cat, flower, princess, and vampire as the only job you left out. Which merasmus is obvious, ms pauling could be princess (scout certainly sees her as would), saxton hale could be a cat (they'd insist on being a lion since they're the king of the jungle), and that leaves the administrator as a vampire, which considering the tf2 comics makes perfect sense.
This video it's an absolutely master piece, every single detail it's perfect, from the cosmetics, the music, the voice linees and the fight, it's absolutely amazing, it mixes miitopia and Team fortress 2 in an absolutely perfect way, I'll like to shake the hand of anyone who worked in this project, best 46 minutes of my life

Gosh, this is fantastic. I love the use of different props and costumes to make the characters and stuff you'd see in Miitopia. As soon as I saw the Fab Fairies, I was hoping we'd get to see them do the dance and I was not disappointed. I laughed pretty much the whole way through. Thank you for this.
Rarely do you see a labor of love quite like this. You managed to sum up an hours-long experience with this massive project. It's a wonderful love letter to both TF2 and Miitopia alike, and makes it clear you hold both games near and dear to your heart. Thank you for all of your efforts in making this, I think I've watched that Darkest Lord fight about ten times now. Such a fun spectacle to behold. You've done a great job here, and I totally get it if we never see a TF2 story retelling project quite like this again. This musta been a heck of a lot of work, after all! Be proud of your magnum opus!
The algorithm only just blessed me with this masterpiece. This is amazing, up there with the likes of TF2 Air and Team Fabulous 2 as one of the best TF2 animations ever made. Keep up the good work!
The only thing I felt was a missed opportunity was that the Dark Curse wasn't played by MONOCULUS ! but was just the png of the switch one. This is still an easy 10/10.
Hello I am commenting again after the full watchthrough, and it was all amazing. The animation was choppy but it was great at that. It reminded me of YTP’s and it’s was amazing. The use of the tf2 voice lines too also add to the YTP feel lmao. Some of the jokes that aren’t related to Miitopia are funny too, I laughed pretty much every time the tractor appeared on screen of whatever that was. And I friggin loved the eggman appearance it was hillarious. I loved the models for all the characters and it really did show each of the classes in miitopia perfectly. Not to mention it all was just well put together and you really did do a good job! There is so much more I could talk about but I think I should just leave it here and say thanks for making this masterpiece. It’s criminal that it hasn’t got like a bajillion views. Wario Approved.
I like how the three team members that assist Heavy (the protagonist) throughout half of the game (Pyro the Chef, Scout the Cat, and Solider the Tank) each come from the their respective worlds and are all divided between the order of their recruiting (Pyro being the first team member in Greenhorne, Solider as the Second in Realm of the Fey, and Scout as the third in Neksdor) Good attention to detail 👏
Your love for both TF2 and Miitopia shines through all the work that must've gone into making this massive project a reality! Just a fantastic journey through and through
Much like Miitopia itself, this video isn't the absolute best ever, but so much work was put into its production that it oozes charm and is far better than the sum of its parts. And it's amazingly faithful to the original game, especially given the limitations (both inherent and self-imposed). Outstanding!

The most unrealistic thing about this is the fact that the team was somehow in perfect harmony and didn't fight once until the Merasmus fight.
As somebody who has recently beaten miitopia and is now in post-game content, this is both scary accurate and amazingly hilarious

Yeah and would be entertaining to use more of the female tf2 skins but as said, this was well done.
sniper was exclusively the ex-Dark Lord, meanwhile two Heavy's and 2 Soldier's in the party, and lot of Heavy npcs and enemies

The amount of time and effort this must have taken editing-wise is insane. This genuinely has every major plot point in Miitopia, uses customized character models based on TF2 and Miitopia class designs, and has some genuinely funny comedic timing??? Whew what a treat!

This is a masterpiece, its as funny as TF2 and normal Miitopia, i still dont know how this hasnt been taken down by Nintendo yet, im glad it hasnt tho.
Small game inconsistency, Tank Soldier must've had +99 speed from food cause he's somehow not always going last.
BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THIS IS TERRIBLE, IT'S BEAUTIFUL.
Popstar spy killed me, the party member abduction was exactly how it feels, The emphasis on how much of a banger the final boss theme is with the amazing music timing to Heavy's last stand, the Hyper sprinkle steamroll, and the way alot of game mechanics were showcased without butchering the flow of the video. The only thing that was missing was when your party members go full anime with Resurgence and Last Wish*. (*i think that's it's name?) (**oh, and personality quirks didn't have much showcase, although that's minor.)

In terms of the personality quirks I dont think that would have worked outside of move interactions (like respective party members getting pissed from moves such as spicy dish and human cannonball) because outside of certain characters such as soldier and demonman or heavy and medic in game the mercs don't really interact much if at all and in the game proper you can have everyone just sleep in their own rooms at the inns and leave the interactions up to RNG but then again in terms of the story in the video it may mess up the tempo having an emotion based moment happen in the middle of a fight which is why the previously mentioned attacks and such happening only during the first final boss not that it wouldn't have been good to see but if it's not introduced appropriately then it just feels out of place in terms of the video story

Pyro: chef (fire)
Demoman: warrior (nuff said)
Heavy: tank(yes)
Engi: scientist
Medic: cleric
Sniper: elf(bow)
Spy: imp ( because he feels like one)
So that leaves wizard, cat, flower, princess, and vampire as the only job you left out. Which merasmus is obvious, ms pauling could be princess (scout certainly sees her as would), saxton hale could be a cat (they'd insist on being a lion since they're the king of the jungle), and that leaves the administrator as a vampire, which considering the tf2 comics makes perfect sense.
This video it's an absolutely master piece, every single detail it's perfect, from the cosmetics, the music, the voice linees and the fight, it's absolutely amazing, it mixes miitopia and Team fortress 2 in an absolutely perfect way, I'll like to shake the hand of anyone who worked in this project, best 46 minutes of my life

Gosh, this is fantastic. I love the use of different props and costumes to make the characters and stuff you'd see in Miitopia. As soon as I saw the Fab Fairies, I was hoping we'd get to see them do the dance and I was not disappointed. I laughed pretty much the whole way through. Thank you for this.

Rarely do you see a labor of love quite like this. You managed to sum up an hours-long experience with this massive project. It's a wonderful love letter to both TF2 and Miitopia alike, and makes it clear you hold both games near and dear to your heart. Thank you for all of your efforts in making this, I think I've watched that Darkest Lord fight about ten times now. Such a fun spectacle to behold. You've done a great job here, and I totally get it if we never see a TF2 story retelling project quite like this again. This musta been a heck of a lot of work, after all! Be proud of your magnum opus!

As someone who plays both Miitopia and TF2...yeah this is about what I'd expect the mercs to do in the Miitopia setting.
They could've gone for the lowest juiciest hanging fruit, and had merasmus steal their hats, instead.
The algorithm only just blessed me with this masterpiece. This is amazing, up there with the likes of TF2 Air and Team Fabulous 2 as one of the best TF2 animations ever made. Keep up the good work!

The only thing I felt was a missed opportunity was that the Dark Curse wasn't played by MONOCULUS

Hello I am commenting again after the full watchthrough, and it was all amazing. The animation was choppy but it was great at that. It reminded me of YTP’s and it’s was amazing. The use of the tf2 voice lines too also add to the YTP feel lmao.
Some of the jokes that aren’t related to Miitopia are funny too, I laughed pretty much every time the tractor appeared on screen of whatever that was. And I friggin loved the eggman appearance it was hillarious.
I loved the models for all the characters and it really did show each of the classes in miitopia perfectly. Not to mention it all was just well put together and you really did do a good job!
There is so much more I could talk about but I think I should just leave it here and say thanks for making this masterpiece. It’s criminal that it hasn’t got like a bajillion views.

I like how the three team members that assist Heavy (the protagonist) throughout half of the game (Pyro the Chef, Scout the Cat, and Solider the Tank) each come from the their respective worlds and are all divided between the order of their recruiting (Pyro being the first team member in Greenhorne, Solider as the Second in Realm of the Fey, and Scout as the third in Neksdor) Good attention to detail 👏

Scout being so small just makes me laugh.
Much like Miitopia itself, this video isn't the absolute best ever, but so much work was put into its production that it oozes charm and is far better than the sum of its parts.
And it's amazingly faithful to the original game, especially given the limitations (both inherent and self-imposed).
