Purchased the Evolution D5. Comes with large screen with bluetooth sound system with soundbar. Back up camera Front and back bucket leather seats with armrests and seat belts. Completely street ready with Led low and high beams. Turn signals, mirrors 4 cup holders. Full roof. Fancy large custom wheels and tires. Rear brake light with storage compartment in rear of vehicle. 2 year warranty. 5 year Lithium Battery. Top speed 35mph with 35 mile range. Have driven 6 miles and it still has 90 percent battery remaining. The cart has got it all. I chose the 36 month zero financing and paid 12,000. Sapphire Black with black leather interior. Comes with 2 keyfabs. Took it out in traffic and she runs like a car. License and tags cheaper than a personal vehicle. It awesome.
That's good to hear. I have yet to see the new D5 Model. Please Please Please. If you have a chance. At you're earliest convenience after riding this cart around for maybe 1k-5k miles. Let me know what you think. Id like to hear an honest opinion. 2 Dealers closest to me have stopped selling them. Its to hard to get warrantied parts and things do go wrong(not claiming on you're model). I also know another dealer that had a 80% return rate on their 2020 models. He had 100k of broken carts in his lot. Trust me when I say they were all over evolution. Personally I've really taken a liking to the ATLAS cart.
Sounds just like my cart and I have had no problems at all out of my cart. However I did contact Kustom carts our dealer and they say they have had an excellent 4 year relationship with EVO and no problem getting parts. Now maybe that's just the Houston area I don't know but I've had a good relationship with my dealership and do not believe they're lying to me.
Triple the cup holders, better battery, it has the storage/cooler. I don’t care if the icon brakes better or has high beems . The new carts have the LED touch screen. Evolution wins hands down
Everyone i know hates their evolution. A local shop says their return rate is like 70-80%. Nobody can get parts when they break😂Did you buy youreself an evolution Steven?
We purchased our 2022 ICON i60L last year in the dark red color and absolutely love it! We had it custom made with added bigger wheels, sound bar, armrest, and it’s lifted. Our cart is definitely a show stopper at our neighborhood. Always getting starred at and people asking where we bought ours!
I've had both carts turned in my icon for an evolution last year with the built-in stereo system and MP3 player and I can tell you it's a much better cart than my icon ever was. To each their own I suppose. But as an end user I would tell you buy EVO.
I am so excited to get my Icon soon!!! Going with the Lithium option they provide now! I think it's the perfect cart financially, aesthetically, and functionally for the community driving I'll be doing with it.
@@CartPerformance I’m buying a used 2010 Club Car and the owner installed a 48v Evolution lithium battery in 2022. I was wondering if that should last me at the very minimum a few years before I have to install a “better” brand.
I just bought a new 2023 Evolution Classic 4 Pro. I admit that the Icon is a heavier vehicle and the hydraulic brakes are a nice to have, but I believe that for $9000, the Evolution with a Lithium ion battery is a better bang for your buck than the Icon. Not only does it come with a 5 year warranty on a Lithium battery (life span 8 -12 years) but it is a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery which is the same type of battery that Tesla has upgraded and are installing in their new standard range cars. Also, your comments about no zip ties on the electrical wiring are far reaching and really insignificant. If I wanted a heavier, less efficient, older technology golf cart, I still would not have bought an Icon.
Thank you for youre opinion it is appreciated! However a friend i know who owns a shop in Florida claims an astonishing 80% return rate on the evolution cart. He has always had problems getting anything warrantied thru Evolution(he is a dealer and moves many units). Do some Google searches to read some other customer reviews on reddit and such. You get what you pay for. You went cheap.
@@phild1160 If you knew what i know about evolution you would not want to spread a good word about their carts. I have emails for over 6 months trying to get peoples carts fixed. I wish all the best with evolution and hope they have a good experience. I just can't sell a cart with no support. I am also giving my honest opinion on how i feel about the quality of the cart. In my opinion the icon is the better cart.
Why didn't you put the icon up against the evolution classic plus.. since you want to call evolution cheap. I have a Evolution forester 4 plus.. what I got standard it would of cost nearly 6k more with icon. There are ways to stop the squeaking from the windshield. Also with Evolution, you can adjust braking, take off speed, over end speed also with a computer.. Evolution, 2 yr bumper to bumper warranty, 5 year on the lithium battery, lifetime warranty on the chassis. What does icon have?
We didn't have one. 3 yr bumper to bumper for the icon. 8 year pro-rated for the icon. You can also adjust all the same settings on the Icon. As for adjusting braking. Locking up the rear tire won't help much. The evolution is a squeaky banana. We called it how we saw it. Im sure the Forester Plus is a much better model than this and I will work to get another evolution in a more premium model.
It depends on what you want. The Evolution is $4k cheaper ($7000 currently), has Lithium battery, more power, more options(newer ones have 9" infotainment screen/rear camera/speakers, 0% financing, looks better..... but isnt built as tough and doesnt brake as fast. Icon probably has better dealer support.
Did you guys manipulate an Evolution Classic Pro? The Classic Pro only has a 4kw AC motor, it's the Classic Plus that has the 6.3kw AC motor. The Plus also has the touchscreen with back up camera and bluetooth sound system. Price wise, the Classic Plus is the same as the Icon I40 with the additonal features. The Classic Pro that it appears you are showing in the video is about $1,000 less than the Icon I40.
Yep your totally right. Just no manipulation. Just a fumble with words from my associate there. The other cart we reviewed had the 6.3 kw AC motor. However. We do believe this is all limited to the controller size anyways.
I've got an I60L in the mail now.. (Michigan to Oklahoma) ..I'll upgrade it to lithium when the AGM's give it up.. Hoping about 5 years down the road and "maybe" the system will even be a little less expensive at that point.
Trading in my forester for a D5 maverick purely cause of the lack of support on the rear step. I've had to replace the step twice due to the weight of a golf bag holder

Heys guys, nice vid. I gave you a sub. I just got the 2024 Evolution Classic 4 Plus. My reasoning: I am a female not into mechanicals, so I wanted the lithium battery. I also wanted the storage compartment because I live near the beach here in Hawaii and can take the cart right down to it with my beach gear, parking under the trees. Most importantly, I wanted new and cheap. These suckers cost double what they do on the mainland. I see they go for 6 or 7 K on mainland? Here, they are 13.5K Your braking demo was important. I will reduce my speed for safety. I looked under the thing, no hanging electrical. The new touchscreen is pretty cool.
Steering geometry on the evolution is a bit wonky, controllers have been a problem in our neighborhood. So, I bought the ICON. I really like it after a year with it. I have a club car precedent as well. The ICON is better in some things
not that I'm protecting Evo, but I do believe the Evo w/ LSV package has 4 wheel brakes. Also the Evo tested in a Pro version not a Plus version. Just saying......
You are correct it was a pro and we said the specs of the plus. There are a few differences between the two models. The first review we did was on the plus model. You are correct about the lsv package coming with 4 wheel disc brakes I just looked at their website. The biggest issue with this cart is dealer support with aftersales. I have talked to many dealers all having the same issue with support. Now of course every dealer has a different story. The average having more issues than not with them. I have also have personal experience with evolution on the dealer side trying to get problems solved and it was a horrible experience. I wouldn't sell this cart to anyone knowing what i went through just trying to get a battery fixed. I am not bashing them just not a fit for me.
Nothing in this video is relevant other than comparing the braking systems. Everything top speed, acceleration, motor regen, cart squeaks and even the windshield depends on the dealership.
