Great question Nick! So this is a two part answer. The stock converter on the D5 can only handle an amp draw of 20(sh), so you can't really put any accessory on the D5 with that converter that'll make any bit of a difference on the battery charge percentage. Now if you were to upgrade the converter (To like a 30AMP Converter which we are currently working on one for the D5), now you can power some heftier items like a Subwoofer and super bright LED light bars and KC Lights, etc. BUT even with accessories pulling close to the 30amps, the power draw is minimal compared to the draw the battery experiences while driving. The Ohio State D5 that we made a video on had a 1000Watt amp with a ginormous subwoofer and 4 speaker and a 30amp reliance converter and we played that as loud as it could play for 6 hours straight and it only dropped the battery charge by 5%. So long answer short, most electronics will make little to no difference on your battery range!
Just installed! Getting some feedback in the speaker when music is not on. How do I fix this or is this normal? Thanks for making the video. Very helpful!
Hello! So if you still have feedback in your Soundbar, that means your Soundbars feedback noise is not because of the touchscreen. Shoot me an email Sloan@bacarts.com and I'll give you a call to troubleshoot this noise! We have multiple simple solutions if you still have noise in your Soundbar!
I want to buy the Boostbox, I have a D5 coming in a couple of days and noticed the soundbar issues you cited. I see that some people had problems finding the connectors you show in your video.....is that all worked out, or is there something that I should know before I try to put this on my cart?
Hello! New D5 is exciting! If you saw anything about people having troubles finding the connectors, it's because they barely looked or they totally disregarded our video/written instructions. The connectors are extremely easy to find and extremely to plug into. The install is as easy as it gets. So nope, there's nothing you really need to know before installing the BoostBox or D5100. Every D5 has the same connectors! If you want the BoostBox, let me know because we're relaunching it and the D5100 sometime in January and if you're not on the pre-order list, you may not be able to order one till February or later!
If I had to give a dollar to every viewer for each time I screw words up in videos, I'd be a very very poor man lolol. The 600W system is rolling right along in the background for now, but it'll be ready to make it's official reveal here soon!
All audio controls would be through your phone. Selecting your music, adjusting volume, changing songs, all through your phone. All touchscreen functions will no longer work with the BoostBox so the FM, AM, USB Audio Input, Microphone, etc, will not work.
I need to know that also...2025 D5 ranger 2+2...square sound bar....make something that keeps all the functionality of the touchscreen !!! Why do I have to loose serveral things to get one ??

The BoostBox does in fact bypass the phone's connectivity to the touchscreen. So phone calls do not come through the screen after you install a BoostBox. Your phone may have a dual bluetooth mode that allows you to specify which device handles audio and which handles phone calls. But regardless, 99% of customers don't care to lose their hands-free phone call ability on the D5, because people can't you through the mic on the cart anyways (sitting still), and they definitely can't hear a word you're saying if you're trying to talk through the hands-free mic on the cart while driving down the road.
Some D5s either have a wrong pinned wire in a harness, or some other type of programming because the audio should remain on while in reverse with BoostBox. We've sold a couple thousand of these and have heard a handful of people tell us that they had the same issue and we really have no idea how to resolve it. It's not a BoostBox issue. It's a cart issue.
I know thia video is older but, why is this allowed to even happen? The fact that you have to buy a "boost box" to play clear music on a 12k cart is kind of ridiculous. Evolution carts should juat disconnect the speaker from the dash or offer to purchase a cart without this sytem.
Well, to be honest, Evolution is one of the cheapest OEMs out there, so there's little details here and there that may not be ideal, but it's hard to complain when you get so many bells and whistles for a price lower than any OEM out there. D5s are now around $10k (as of April 2024), and that's significantly cheaper than most OEMs. If a premium OEM like Club Car or Atlas had a big weak point like the audio quality then that'd be way more unforgivable because you're paying a premium for that brand, but when you're buying a cart that's one of the cheapest, you have to level your expectations.
$300!!! You could buy a new head unit for that. Maybe if that piece added car play it would be worth $150. $300 is just way overpriced. Way to be innovative but geez sell at a price point that is fair.
Some of the cost has to do with it plugging directly into our plug n play sound systems. The biggest chunk of the price is the labor involved to build these with the faftory connectors, making it plug into the existing electrical system to play the audio through the Soundbar to. Yes you could buy a cheap head unit for less than $300 but you'd also spend 10X more time installing it then you would our boostbox and/or plug n play systems. 99% of our customers have entry level handyman skills with minimal tools, we build products for people that are willing to play for plug n play convenience.

Does the boost box have enough power to run a couple front speakers as well without an additional amp?

I just received my booster. The 6-pin male end on the boostbox only has two pins. Is that an error?

I have a classic 6 passenger Evaluation and want to add the d5 sound bar ad booster can it be done?

Sure does! Just added some pictures to the boostbox/d5100 listings on the online store listing that it works on Cuboid soundbars!

We are not seeing the same connectors in our cart! There’s a 4 pin and a 7 pin attached to a box.
