Excellent review of the ICON i40L..... I bought one last August and love it, but I learned so much more about it from your two reviews. Wish you were in Clearwater, Florida.
Thanks. Glad it helped you to know the cart a little better. Get are getting to know them a little better ourselves. We are here to help the best we can if you need something.
Great review. Just bought this ICON for our storage property. I love it. Any suggestions on how to disengage the auto lock breaks in the event of a flat tire? I would need to push it manually if that happened like I used to do with my old EZ GO but not if the breaks are locked. Any tips?
yes if the cart has power there is a switch under you seat on the drivers side. You will need to move that to manuel eb. This will disengage the electronic parking brake. If that does not work on your electric motor you should see two hex bolts. You will need to turn those two bolts to free the electronic parking brake.
Nice video, but I think a little misleading, as you upgraded the motor and controller. I purchased a stock Icon last year, and it has a BIG PROBLEM climbing hills. A search for "Icon torque" on the forums clearly show a huge amount of people reporting the same issue. Maybe you should do a Hill review using the stock motor and controller.
Larry thanks for the comment to let us know how the smaller motor and controller carts perform. I believe most are now coming with the bigger controller and motor from factory along with agm batteries at least this is the way we order them.
@@CartPerformance I hope so ,not really happy with performance.is there a way to turn the lights off the the outside lights are always on ,i have on the turn signal switch to turn off it does nothing
I have a brand new 2023 I40L and not seeing nearly the same performance on inclines. Mine barely makes it up gravel inclines that are far less steep than the one you climbed in this video. It climbs at 3-4 mph and almost stalls during. My top end speed is limited to 19-20mph too. Could this be a tuning or programming issue due to the way the shop I bought it from programmed it? I know some changes can be made via the programming port and cable.
Funny My wife and me was looking at the club car 2022 today from a dealer did like it just the price was step in my opinion, then I saw your 2 reviews on the Icon and was impressed, now I need to show your 2 videos to my wife lol 😂 Where are you located in Michigan? We are located in Michigan as well and that’s a good news on my book.
Club cars are nice but they are pricey. If you liked the videos wait until you and your wife actually see and drive the icon. We are located in chesterfield,mi.
If by "snownut" you mean a donut in the snow. I am not sure would have to try it when it gets cold. We know our other cart the ripper will shred the snow.
I have a 09 RXV with gear kit and lithium. Cart does 41 MPH on the GPS, nobody can touch it, it looks cool but not ICON cool. Looking to get another cart for my other house/subdivision but 23mph after 41 I feel like I would be walking, not running Can anything be done to those carts to give me even mid 30?
I am going to answer this basing off the club car onward as this is model cart you can purchase right from the dealer as factory. Which is a precedent with a new front clip also known as a tempo. They are the same cart new name and body style is all. When looking at the new onward its still using the dc motor no ac optional is available. To me that's a big deal the ac way out performs the dc motor. Still coming with drum rear breaks, a aftermarket lift kit (same as all the online aftermarket kits), Light kit, long roof, comfy seats. Biggest advantage to this cart is aluminum frame and club car being a solid name with long line of parts for these carts. I feel for 12-14k these carts can be a better design a way better design. Icon coming with a ac motor, 4 wheel hydraulic disc brakes, coil over suspension, seat belts, long roof, all the bells and whistles for a price around 10500. Is a great deal. Their frames are steel. The icon cart is designed to be a ev for recreational use. The club car is designed to be on the golf course with 2 adults and golf bags. We know they can be modified to be a lsv which is what club car is basically doing on the onward line. In conclusion there are advantages/ disadvantages of each cart in its own way. Is one better then the other hard to say.
Awesome review guys. Was on the fence between a used Club Car and a new Icon - not anymore. Enjoy yall's personality and knowledge.
Thank you! Happy it helped you get to know the icon a little better. We hope to do more in the future on other brands and products.
Where are y’all? We just bought a brand new i40L in indigo and love it!
We are located in Michigan. Glad you are enjoying the cart. We enjoyed reviewing it and think its a solid cart.
Awesome review. Really enjoyed the in depthness you guys provided!

How does this stack up to the Royal EV or a Dart EV?

@@CartPerformance I have a 2022 i60l I think I have the bigger motor and the other part .how can I check to see
@@skeim5620 If the cart is a year 2022 you should have a 5kw motor and 450 amp controller. Also the i60L has 8 6v batteries to give the longer range.

@@skeim5620 There is no switch to turn the running lights off. They come on with the key for a safety running light.

Yes this can very well be a tuning issue. Cart can be returned by your dealer. We have received a few 23s that are programmed like you cart is.
Does your Icon dash brake light come on when you brake?
here from pfi 👍🏽

This is probably the single-most important question you will ever get asked. Will it do a Snownut?

We have had these to 35 on lead acid batteries. Have not tried lithium! Working on it!
Any idea where to purchase touch up paint for a 2020 Icon 140L ?
What color do you need?
@@CartPerformance Thanks I’m looking for Caribbean blue !
How
Much for one of these ??
Prices vary with shipping cost, fuel surcharges ect. Right now lifted is around 10500
