This lovely song was written by Sandy.
Change of tempo. Sandy Denny. She sang with the Strawbs for a while, mid 60's. She was a troubled, talented, beautiful young woman, died far too young. This to me is very evocative, as most music is. Could choose so many but this seems apt. Was thinking how life passes by so quickly. Hence this song 'Who knows where time goes'.
Used to listen to Strawbs a lot. Particularly this lady. Bit of a 'Crush' you know in the day. 😂❤
What a beautiful song. I stumbled on this song and really love it. So sad she died so young, what a loss to the music world and all of us. No telling what she would have accomplished musically if she'd lived.
talked with her at the bar in Amsterdam's Folk Fairport pub in '78... some week later she had fallen down the stairs and died... to me she's an angel...
“My favorite singer out of all the British girls that ever were.”
- Robert Plant That says something..
Such a beautiful, eternally sweet voice.
Ultimate Sandy - it doesn't get any better than this.
I like the version with the pictures that you put on youtube particularly. - Thank you! That is the reason I included it in a playlist of songs and artists, who in my opinion are worth being known and remembered beyond their "home base". Some of them, like Sandy Denny, I only knew, when they were already gone.
OMG I saw her in concert not long before she died. Never heard this recording, though. Thanks for posting this.
I have a Strawbs album and Fairport Convention album with Sandy Denny. Her voice is timeless,a classic.
We lost her much too soon.
@John Healy Thanks for tuning in John.
Beautiful song, beautiful singing 🎶
It pleases me that you enjoy the music.

Certainly is one of the greatest female voices
Let put it this way, Sandy Denny n Billie Holiday are 2 of the greatest perfomer in contemporary music.

Lovely.
Thanks for checking in with us.
Personally I like the live BBC version with Richard Thompson on guitar best.
You were in my Miami Vice episode.... One way ticket.
Is this THE Jan Hammer that played with Jeff Beck on Wired?
No, this is the earliest known recording of Sandy singing (and playing, self accompaniment) her timeless work. Included on the album 'Sandy and The Strawbs', remastered and re-released on CD about 20 years back, but hard to find now. Gorgeous and pure. I'm pretty sure that there is an earlier demo of the same that Sandy made up in her bedroom when she was about 18, this one whem she joined the Strawbs
I'm pretty sure the comment was referring to the original poster, not the song. No one could mistake Jan Hammer for Sandy Denny.
Brilliant…David Cousins Rules…
