I bought a bottle wine from his winery called Judith about a year before. The album was released at 9pm for me and I opened up the bottle of wine and enjoyed two glasses of Judith while I listened to the whole album in it’s entirety. It was such a great moment.
It was truly a historical moment in time when this dropped!! And "fear inoculum" being symbolic to the main stream news media/ television programming putting fear in everyone and then pneuma being a origin word for lungs/breath!
Hell yes…..if you like rock see them if you get the chance (which is rare). I saw the Stones, Korn, AIC and Tool within the 12 months before COVID hit and Tool was #1. AIC #2
Asia your comments about the lyrical themes is one of the reasons that makes this band elite. You have to immerse yourself in their music and every tool fan has had this same realisation. Usually before falling deep into a rabbit hole and in love with everything they release. Truely one of the greatest bands of all time.
Tool likes to hit you with the music first. Once you're hooked, you can't help but look up the lyrics and then it takes you to another level. It's incredibly beautiful how they guide you through their music. I love seeing people find Tool for the first time. It makes me so happy. Enjoy the journey that is their discography.
Tool is a true collaboration between four genius-level artists. Maynard is not a "front man" or "lead singer", he doesn't dominate the spotlight, he isn't forward in the mix above the other instruments. If anything Danny is the most well known. 8:54 You do have to listen closely, it's not for casual listeners. A tool is only useful if you use it with intention; if you don't know what it is or how to use it, a tool is just clutter.
That was a great post, Gavin! 100% on EVERYTHING! They are definitely not for everyone. And you have to look at the lyrics and do research on their songs because they're deep.
@@michaelrandall2490 Sure, why not? My point is that Tool is not one of those bands whose singer sucks up all of the attention - Jethro Tull, the Bangles, etc. such that people have no idea who the drummer, bassist and lead guitar players are.
Tool is my favorite band.. Glad yall are getting to give them a chance.. Whatever song your hearing at the moment is your favorite song lol.. That's how good they are to me.
Additionally, in a lot of rock music, the instruments do the talking, spreading the message, the lyrics are certainly part of the song, but its more a subtext. The best rock songs, you'd understand the message whether there were words or not.
Their concerts prove that theory. Most of the time you cannot even see MJK. He's in the background often farther back than Danny. His place in this band is as a contributor not as the main event. I can think of a few bands that are of the same mindset. These particulars bands are never disappointing live.
Drumming master class. You really owe it to yourselves to check out the drum cam of this one. So much goes unnoticed with the play-through. This dude (Danny Carey) is so great in composing his drumming parts. His ability to play different patterns with EACH limb is incredible.

Asking me to pick a favorite song of Thiers is like asking which kid is my favorite?! I love them all equally! Their music is a tool to opening your mind and expanding your consciousness. Great reaction guys! As for the vocals being low in the mix, they want every aspect of the song to be an experience and not just feature one part of it or another. They also don't spoon feed the meanings to everyone, they make you dig for it through self reflection and your own personal experiences. No one quite like them...on a whole other level for sure!

Everytime i listen to the tribal drum interlude, listening to the synth-esque guitar, it reminds me of being in a state of meditation during a rainstorm, the drums symbolizing the water falling on various metallic surfaces. Then when it intensifies i cant help but picture the storm intensifying with thunder and lightning. Only one word can describe the total atmosphere of this track...transcendent. Thank you for taking the time to create an awesome reaction to an amazing song. 🤘 got urself another sub 😁 also i loved how, for your first listen, you truely experienced the journey that Tool has to offer. For me, and im sure with many other fans, just losing yourself in the music, feeling the tension and anticipation, even knowing whats to come, creates a sort of ASMR effect. Keep rockin.
Your interpretation of their music is for you. Their music has the capability of being meaningful to you, and your life specifically. Whether its the music, or the lyrics... it hits different. Great reaction! Thank you!
RIGHT ON guys! U nailed it. Tools music is so intentional w/their sounds. The reason ppl suggest you listen w/ HEADPHONES (a must) and eyes closed cuz the genius way they mix their music the little rat-a-tats in one ear, tribal drums in the middle, the guitar swirles around you etc. Tickles the brain thru each ear that meets in the middle which produces pictures in yr mind! THE JOURNEY! I wait n watch tool reactions for those who just instinctively close their eyes or hold their faces at parts (wen that wall of sound punches you in the face lol) I KNOW they were truly FEELING it. Its SO amazing to me that only 3 instruments (4 if u count Maynards vocals) can make so much impact! Then the lyrics convey the essence if not the meaning. Another great thing about the lyrics are the metaphors, the assonance which can actually change the interpretation of the song depending on yr maturity and life experiences bcuz they take on new meanings as we grow intellectually!! Hence, the music doesnt get old! We DO however lol. But the songs DONT. If I had to take only 1 album w/me stuck on a deserted island (that miraculously had electricity lol) it wud HAVE to be.........????...fuck!? I'm thinking... Fear Innoculum! No, NO. Please check out the live version....the camera view is of the drummer Danny Carey during the video...you will be amazed to see the man hold 4 different beats all at the same time...each arm and each foot doing its own rhythm is amazing
You mentioned them using a synthesizer but they dont...watch that video I mentioned and you'll see the drummer does all that manually....even if you don't do a reaction video to the song I still recommend listening to it ...you wont be disappointed.
Trance music made me understand the euphoric feeling. I found how to feel it the same way for Tool; whole new level, beyond euphoric; at anytime of the day, and has become my new favorite feeling
I love your analysis! Everyone experiences Tool differently and your perspectives on this are fascinating, inspiring and real. I've been a Tool fan for over 20 years (I was late to the party but I did see them at Lollapalloza in the early-mid 90s) and it always takes me 10 listens to get the tune. As far as a cosmic experience, Asia -- I can totally relate. IMO, you are far from crazy! And this is a lot to process at once. You all gained a new fan/subscriber. Thank you.
You are getting the purpose of Tool. Keep letting it take you. If you let it happen it will show you and get you in touch with your higher nature. They don't just hand it to you. You have to be vulnerable and let it take you. Keep going! i bawl my eyes out every time I see someone start to wake up listening to Tool.
Welcome my friends to Tool its just amazing and new just like when I discovered Rap and R&B it enriched my life and it will also do it for you. FYI Great REACTION!!!
the great thing about most tool songs is people understand listening that the songs are deep, they have real world meaning and it takes everyone on a self discovery trip which is why there are so many tool fans. their shows are still sold out every time. they are one of the greatest bands live. the band gets across their vision in most songs and people get it even if it is their first time listening. that is priceless and can not be learned it is all just the band being great at what they do. great music ? sure but the ride is what is so great self discovery is amazing and powerful.
You guys are so on point and awesome!!! You guys are real "REACTORS" way above other guys. You decipher and look to understand the artistry here, a big part of this so is the timing of the instruments and the very unorthodox way they play here, and if you watch the drum cam version you will see how hard it is to keep the timing. Dany Carey keeps timing while playing different rhythms on each hand and foot and holds them for 2-3 minutes long. As far as the meaning of the Tool songs you guys are the only reactors that I watch that truly get the meanings and understand why this band is different and why they are real ARTISTS. YOU GUYS ROCK!! Thank you for the awesome videos!!
You two did a fantastic job of expressing your views (and mine) about the meaning of this song. So we're talking about the same things: "Pneuma" is an ancient Greek word for "breath", and in a religious context for "spirit" or "soul" (Wikipedia). Thanks to Star Wars, in today's culture, it has been described as "The Force". Regardless, it is an attempt to explain a single, unifying but unseen force that permeates the entire universe, making us all "one"...connected with everything...and everyone...else at a basic, fundamental level. I see Tool's powerful interludes between the first two verses and the much lengthier, building "musical trip" leading to the final verse as (again, thanks to Star Wars) the power of that phenomena, when one is open to it. I appreciate the way you were able to relate those impressions.
This is my first time watching you guys First of all. Asia is GORGEOUS... Second you are spot on about Tool. Their music puts you in a trance and takes you on an out of body experience.
The breath of life....Going back to our roots. Its time...no longer will we hide behind the veil. All will be revealed of who we are...I loved this, wholheartedly
Yeah they want you to do the work to find out the lyrics...its like a puzzle to me.Most of their CD album didn't have the lyrics given to us....A lot of albums with other musicians have lyrics with the music. They have always been a mysterious band.Thats what I love about them. They helped me evolve spiritually in my life. They planted the seed within me for sure
I've been listening to Tool since 1993 and it warms my heart watching you enjoy it for the 1st time. It has the power to elevate the heart and the mind. Enjoy!
Found you from your Jinjer reacts, 2nd favorite band right now, and stayed for the Tool, my favorite band of all time. Subbed for your honest reaction. I have been listening to Tool since Opiate and you are on point that their songs draw out the emotions. If you want to experience the full 3 piece meal, I recommend dabbing into A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. To me, that is the Musical Trinity of Maynard James Keenan.
I'm late to this party, but Tool is definitely worth a deep dive. Right in Two is an absolute must at some point. Helluva song and the lyrics are powerful. Tool fans will give you lots of love. Some of the chillest people you'll ever meet. Great reaction as usual!
Tool isn’t just a band it’s an experience. A complete and total journey. It’s puts you in this higher conscience meditative state. The lyrics make you think and reflect which is like buying a ticket to your mind and the music is the train that takes you there.
My favorite Tool song is Jambi, on the album 10,000 Days. 😌 Sounds like a Harley Davidson at first, but if you wanna hear passion in Maynard's voice, the lyrics are about reflecting on what you would sacrifice for your child.😉
I may be a little late to this party, but the way you felt after listening to this will be multiplied times 10 if you were to fall in to the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. There are many people, myself included, believe that when it comes to “out of body experience” Pink Floyd are the masters from the early 70’s to late 80’. The torch was passed to Tool. So, for people like myself, OG out of body? Pink Floyd. For a more contemporary “out of body” I’ll roll with Tool. The only 2 bands that can do “out of body”. Keep your path, you will get to the PF rabbit/ sink hole when it’s time.
This album came out the day before my birthday (I'm now 30) and I've seen Tool live 3 times since on this tour and they played this song all 3 times 🥰🤩
This song is about having faith, it stsrt as a child, some have for faith then others, thats when you have one foot nailed to the ground. Beautiful song. One breath one word
Yeah. I absolutely loved this reaction. I really hope you do the Drum Cam live version as a reaction aswell, since it will give you a unique perspective on the song and band, especially when drums are concerned. It is incredible, amazing and inspiring! Lots of love from Denmark!
I've been listening to them since I was 12 and seeing New brothers and sisters giving them a chance and actually hearing the wakening bring me to Peace.
I love your channel so I subscribed. Pneuma is a Greek word that means "the vital spirit, soul, or creative force of a person.". Tool helped me get clean from substances. Please react to the live version to this song featuring Danny Carey. You may love Parabol/Parabola .. another spiritual song.
Asia your feelings about TOOL and how they make you feel when you listen to them is real and I totally get what you are saying..not only do you hear TOOL but you also "experience them as well"..thats why TOOL is special and in their own league...nobody compares to them
The drum cam version of this song is worth another whole reaction. It will blow your minds guaranteed, no cap, no front.

You guys are gonna LOVE Invincible! Best track on this album!
Awesome reaction.
You don’t sound crazy. You in touch with it. 💚✨
@12:08 Hell yeah man! How do you NOT start moving at this point in the song...like...this is all about celebration and life and movement! I love it.
the great thing about most tool songs is people understand listening that the songs are deep, they have real world meaning and it takes everyone on a self discovery trip which is why there are so many tool fans. their shows are still sold out every time. they are one of the greatest bands live. the band gets across their vision in most songs and people get it even if it is their first time listening. that is priceless and can not be learned it is all just the band being great at what they do. great music ? sure but the ride is what is so great self discovery is amazing and powerful.
Tool is exceptional, Maynard is a genius! This is my favorite rock band and I've been around for a while!
These guys get it . It’s Refreshing! Love the reaction.
Next has to be the drum cam live. You'll appreciate this a whole lot more 😁🔥
This is my first time watching you guys
First of all. Asia is GORGEOUS...
Second you are spot on about Tool.
Their music puts you in a trance and takes you on an out of body experience.
It still amazes me the drummer plays all this by him self all the percussion and drum parts
The breath of life....Going back to our roots. Its time...no longer will we hide behind the veil. All will be revealed of who we are...I loved this, wholheartedly
Tool isn't a band that you have in the background it's music that fills a whole room and demands your full attention. Love this band so much
Yeah they want you to do the work to find out the lyrics...its like a puzzle to me.Most of their CD album didn't have the lyrics given to us....A lot of albums with other musicians have lyrics with the music. They have always been a mysterious band.Thats what I love about them. They helped me evolve spiritually in my life. They planted the seed within me for sure
Just subscribed!! Asia, I love your description of your experience listening to Tool. You are NOT crazy! This band takes your mind on a journey!!
Try listening to Heilung the song is Krigsgaldr I think yall would really like it. It's a little different but worth it
Great suggestion!!!
Thanks for taking the time to listen Asia and BJ........My brother and sister now.....
Love the backlight-ing. New to me, anyway. It adds so much, even if it may be subconscious for most viewers. Professional touch.
Wow! Thank you so much! ❤️☺️
Nice job one of the best reaction vids on tool. You nailed it. Takes you away to reflect. Emotional. Tool is tribal. Amazing
My favorite Tool song is Jambi, on the album 10,000 Days. 😌
Sounds like a Harley Davidson at first, but if you wanna hear passion in Maynard's voice, the lyrics are about reflecting on what you would sacrifice for your child.😉
Vicarious has a powerful message. Amazing band
Your take at the end of this is precisely what tool is! Every track is an experience that can take you down a different path every time you hear it.
Yall seriously nailed this track! Spot on commentary from both of you! Keep listening...
Look at the drum cam vid. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!! What a kick ass song!!!
I've been listening to them since I was 12 and seeing New brothers and sisters giving them a chance and actually hearing the wakening bring me to Peace.
You guys are amazing! your humbleness, honesty and purity resonates.
Best tool reaction breakdown ever !
Tool experience!
It's great you get the higher-being message. Many of their songs reflect that vibe.
Asia your feelings about TOOL and how they make you feel when you listen to them is real and I totally get what you are saying..not only do you hear TOOL but you also "experience them as well"..thats why TOOL is special and in their own league...nobody compares to them
The drum cam version of this song will blow you away with respect for the drummer “Danny Carey”. It’s awesome to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
