I just got a sage 5 Rex121 from someone in the knife community for $215. He wanted to sell it quickly for MCs Excalibur knife pre-order. Instant buy for me! 😊
So just a bit of a disclaimer when it comes to CTS-204P / CPM-20CV / M390. It's worth mentioning that if you look at the specs for the steels individually you will quickly realize that 204P, 20CV, and M390 are nearly identical in terms of metallurgy. Well, I got used to WE 20CV and a few other blades in M390, and was the steel good, yeah, but was it great, not really. Well, fast-forward to me purchasing a REC exclusive Spyderco PM2 in CTS-204P, and my opinion on what CTS-204P, 20CV, and M390 are actually capable of when they are heat treated to a more optimal level has been completely upended!! Spyderco must be laying a nasty heat treat to their 204P cause my PM2 is an absolute beast. The edge last for freaking ever and it will strop back with a little bit of diamond emulsion to absolutely hair wildling sharp! The PM2 that I have in 204P absolutely blows most of my other knives in similar steels out of the water. Not to mention it just keeps cutting and cutting. It's probably one of my favorites knives of all time, because not only is it stainless, but it holds and takes an incredible edge. I would almost be willing to bet my paycheck that if I was able to hardness test the Spyderco 204P against some of my other knives in M390 or 20CV it would sit well beyond the hardness of my alternative blades. A great steel!!
I swapped my cruwear delica into some flytanium modifly, been saving the green scales for another delica, wasn't sure which, was defaulting to k390. man you just sold me on micromelt pd1. just bought it, and next payday I'll get the rex 121 sage if they're still available
I’m hesitant of Rex 121 especially if it’s even more brittle than maxamet!!! I’ve seen where someone dropped it off there lap onto concrete and the blade broke in two on a pm2
What's going on here? I hated Spyderco so much and thought these were the ugliest knifes on the planet. Know I'm slowly getting into steels and all of a sudden I don't know which one to buy first.
FRN is a joke!!! They are shoving it down our throats!! I have bought a lot less knives because of it!! Bought one FRN, Was a Manix and sent it back THE NEXT DAY. I wont own another. They are cheeping out on us and I AM NOT INTERESTED! Will be changing brands and it sucks because people would say I am a bit of a fan boy. But NO MORE. Lets not forget the pricing is absolutely ludicrous!
Police 4 in pd1 steel is actually great, full liners on the inside and that frn isnt bending really. Was worried about that, like the bugout. Had tp ger cheap amazon scales from china which are extremly much better. 😬
The pd#1 sprints are sharp AF. Takes a smoking edge. Spyderco did a great job. Police is fantastic 🎉

After handle many of those Sages in a Row, I can verify that the Action is Awesome, and identical on each and every one!
Love Spyderco ! Beautiful knives !!!
Tip from a custom knife maker. Superglue & duct tape on a cut...back to work, there is work to do!
I buy all my handguns from a guy named T-rex. He's a small arms dealer.
Makes sense
I've just got the micro melt sprint Police, and it's absolutely perfect,, boy, am I happy,,
I love Spyderco, I have 30 or so. My new sage lwt rex-121 should be in my mail box tomorrow! My first sage super stoked!

I want that Lum tanto
We need to see a lil native lightweight in LC200N
Neeves was saying the Rex 121 edge retention is way beyond even Maxamet.
I was also gifted that bottle a few years ago. It's very good
Im waiting for the HIC folders.
I been on the fence on that lum. Is it good in the hand?
Oh shit, I've been looking forward to this,
Going to need A LOT more of that bourbon to deal with those spyderco's.

And tritium is the ONLY acceptable answer with the ball cage
Good luck sharpening that REX-121 without getting PTSD
That was said about maxamet too. And maxamet is easy. 😂
