    Would you ever consider creating an ASMR video? Because oh my gosh..your voice is SO soothing. I’m watching this just before bed and suddenly I am so relaxed and tired. The natural rhythm of your speech is just so heckin lovely!
    I’m so super curious to know how many people would also love just to hear you talk about skincare and tools and products in an asmr tone. The sound of latex gloves + your voice. Such wowww 💗
    Also, I love your video! I’m going to follow this step-by-step 💗

    This was extremely helpful. My grandmother showed me how she applied her moisturizer and it was always in the upwards motion especially the neck. What I don't understand much about is lymphatic drainage. What is it, why do we have it, what does it cause, where does it go if we massaged our faces correctly, will we see a difference in our face? Thank you for the hard work you put into your videos.💜💜💜

      Yeah!
      It's a fluid that transport toxins, it is located closed to the surface. I couldn't find a single scientific article that says this method works for that matters. It is often used in many cosmetic procedures however it isn't actual and factual evidence this works. It's just an hypothesis not proved. I am intrigued by this method, hope Kenna answer our doubts about this. 😀👀

    • @KennaWhitnell
      @KennaWhitnell  5 років тому +37

      This has mostly been studied for sports recovery, there is not much funding for facial massage lymph drainage but the concept remains the same. Manual lymphatic drainage techniques are hypothesized to stimulate the lymphatic system, increase cell waste removal via the lymph system, improve body fluid dynamics to reduce swelling, and reduce overall cell stress in the worked areas. But you are correct in that the concept is based on hypothesis, theory and preliminary evidence. There are no double blind placebo studies stating manual lymphatic drainage is effective in any of those areas. Unfortunately most randomized clinical studies must have some type of financial benefit to those funding the study, and with manual lymphatic drainage it is pretty difficult to patent or maintain rights to a certain technique. If someone were to do this study they would have to detail the methods used and then anyone could adopt this into their practice. I hope this helps clarify :)

      Hi Kenna. Thanks for answering. I was curious about how a not proved method could be so talked/used everywhere (in the skincare world) without actual scientific evidence. Almost like those devices that claim to increase collagen production just by rubbing it on the face... wich Is kind of absurd on biological terms.
      Thank you for clarifying this to me. 😊✨

    Love your superior knowledge and approachable style! Recently I watched a UA-cam esthetician doing a facial massage where she was literally tugging at the lower third of her face to demonstrate how to relieve facial lower third sagging and lines. I was horrified, was always taught never to pull or tug at your skin! So I trust you much more than that person and am going to try your method. While I am about 40 years older than you, your recommendations seem timeless!

    I have a jaw dislocation, not the one you put back in place... The other type, with ligaments and the meniscus. And... Well there's nothing to do except resting the ligaments and trying to unclenched it if your clench your jaw like a crazy... Like me.
    The problem, outside my jaw, is that I now have a tension chain and these tensions leads to imbalances, bad posture, pains, etc. throughout my all body, coming from my jaw.
    So ... I'll definitely try the massage. If it can help me even just a little bit with tensions in the face and the jaw it will at least be that !

      Try finding nice organic products you can find easily at the market first. Dont over complicate the recipes. You can make your own face masks from egg white to tighten skin, coconut oil and coffee to brighten skin and exfoliate, honey, avocado, yeast, cucumber on eyes or icecubes with rose water/ cucumber. Lots of possibilities. Sorry i dont have any book in particular to recommend. But if you google homemade skincare you can read and decide yourself which recipe will suit you😃

    Kenna, I don't know if this falls under your expertise but a few years ago I came off birth control, was on it for about 10 years (the pill and in the end IUD) and realized that it thinned my hair out like crazy! I lost half of it gradually over the years and was told I might get a third of what I lost back, it's slowly growing in, but is there anything I can do to help my hair in this situation and can you talk about birth control and it's effects on the body? xx

    • @MegaDniela
      @MegaDniela 5 років тому

      Hi Josée, I always had lots of hair shedding so I did some reading about the argument. My understanding is that the only drug proved to help with hair loss is called minoxidil. However when you stop the treatment the loss may come back. An other substance that has some resech behind is caffeine. I decided to use a caffeine shampoo because I can use it all the time and I do believe it helped a lot. However the best drug I've used for my hair isthe projestinic pill. I explain. I was using the projestinic pill as birth control and my hair where getting fuller and fuller with no shedding, like at all. I initially thought it was the comulative effect of my caffeine shampoo. Few months ago I stopped the pill because I didn't need it and my hair start to shed back. One of my friend had a baby recently and she was complaining that her hair were really nice during pregnancy and now she is losing them like crazy. So the penny drooped. It was the pill making my hair so full, progesterone is one of the main hormones during pregnancy. I did some reading and its actually used topical for hair loss. You could ask your doctor about minoxidil, or topical progesterone, you can also try the caffeine shampoo( you need to wash your hair anyway). Sorry for the long message. Hope this help
