I own the xtreme 2 and it's an amazing speaker. I heard the xtreme 3 and the difference is the higher medium and maybe deeper bass. But the difference is not huge...
I think bass are almost the same but the x3 have a bit more treble and sharp sound while the xb43 has more clarity especially in your custom EQ and also have more reverberation which may be due to the lower treble, at 100% volume the xb43 had cleaner and more relaxing sound than the xtreme 3 which I think is important when listening to music for a long period of time.

Xb43 but only because im not rocking out all the time and x3 is just a little too bass heavy for a goto. But xb43 will never sound brilliant just fine.
@@alanrossreviews vocals seem a bit more forward on the XB43 and it's a touch more detailed, at least that's what it seems like to me through the video.
In the last part of the comparison when volume is set at 100 the xb43 is actually better than the xtreme 3 both plugged in and on battery, the treble and brighter sound on Xtreme 3 which seems to make it more appealing at 80% volume and below now made it too sharp and uncomfortable at 100% volume especially when you are very close to the speaker, while the sb43 is well balanced at 100% volume and now have more treble probably due to the slightly reduced bass imo.
2:23 I don't understand this EQ setting. I appreciate the increase is a specific frequency range, and while not an issue for higher end frequencies why not target zero db. my understanding is eq'ing is done by bringing down peaks, not pushing up troughs; and in sum should try and am for zero db change. for example this eq setting is same as Bass = 0 Mids = 3 Highs = 1 you're setting just turns the whole spectrum up 3db which is not insignificant and likely eats up the built in headroom. 14:17 aye, you sure 'bout that lad? The head room is used up, there isn't the power to maintain the proper dynamics because you shifted the amplifying a few db higher. That impacts the lower frequencies because that is what takes power compared to higher frequencies.... it wont magically get louder at max amplification because you turned up the eq values too lol, that is why eq'ing to zero sum is ideal / the target value. That said you're following the mechanics of it all however adding in narrative for the part you cannot explain. just change your terminology from "bass" to power...and ditch you're extra narrative explaining some sort of post processing lol The funny part is it's your tuning doing this, not sony or jbl. learn about db's and specifically in the context of amplifying! That said fantastic productions you do, I've watched and enjoyed many of your videos! Keep it up and thanks for the content! Oh just want to point out, am from the "school of thought" that audio, at the end of the day is what the listener prefers. An eq setting like your +3 +6 +4 is like a "loudness" setting for the lower volume levels...whereever there is the headroom (meaning power availability to produce those bass frequencies) I think if you looked for a graph of wattage (power) vs frequency (for a given db level of course) it will very much highlight what is happening / what I've tried to explain.
lol! you actually think the sony app is a proper equaliser with graduated db levels??? headroom is indeed there, specfically to allow the adjustments in the app. ue on the other hand will do the opposite, drop headroom as soon as you go into custom eq. know your speakers rather than judge a man by his clothes i would say. thats not even getting into the dynamic range limiters employed on these speakers of that the eq is often volume step specific and a balance of frequencies rather than what you seem to believe, a genuine equaliser. watts is power, hz is a frequency. youre welcome. bass vs power
"I do use this on a daily basis". XB43. Ummmm ... I seem to remember you not being too positive about this in a previous review... I will have to go check, when I have the time. I believe it was when you tested it against its predecessors

Question on USB-C charging, I can charge my XB43 with a normal 5V usb charger or a power bank I use for my phone. Very handy for camping when I don't have access to power. Can you charge the Xtreme 3 from a simple power bank or does it have to be at 20V? GREAT review!
I have all them since the srs xb3.... the only one i dont is 23 33 43......yes its true.....standard mode is flater but talking about loudness extrabass on forshore
gioviecelli any serious tests between this sony and xtreme 2 and 3.... people turn on the extra bass on sony! and sony in all other tests against jbl xtreme (2 and 3) won. only in this channel did not activate the xtra bass.
The more I watch your video, the more it seems you are biased..every one knows extreme 3 has a brighter tone (which at times produces shrieking high) while 43 has got more weight in terms of sound output..now what you are doing here is messing with 43's eq and disturbing its mids and high by overdoing lows and at the same time keeping Jbl stock output at its best (cos it can't be change no in built eq)...sorry mate not buying...

@frave ung jbl e3 kasi at xb43 is halos same ng price na e...nalilito na tuloy ako ...43 or e3...
xtreme 3 is the best more on portable
So alan, which one between the two ? If you had to pick only one
Xb43 but only because im not rocking out all the time and x3 is just a little too bass heavy for a goto. But xb43 will never sound brilliant just fine.
Thanks for the honest opinion
I go for the XB bcuz for this price (now sale 140€) i think u cant find anythink better. Then on Christmas comes the JBL Partybox 100 🥳
yup if you forget the size the price is great.
@@alanrossreviews ye haha, i actully never had a pretty big speaker, but i want to win the party in portable speaker haha
Nice brother.
Thank you! Cheers!
@@alanrossreviews cheers bro. Can subscribe to my channel. Please.
Alan ross You have new firmware 3700 Sony xb43 ???
Float in water? Battery life with or with out lights 80% volume
wonder if you can get HK aura studio 3 in your hand and review it also compare it with JBL extreme 3 and extreme 2...
Except its not portable and im trying to stick with wireless speakers for now 😭😂😭
@@alanrossreviews aahhh I see.. I respect that.. looking forward for you to review HK onyx studio 6 if there's a chance then 🙇♂️
It seems like there's no clarity at max volume on that Xtreme 3 compared to XB43. Otherwise obviously a more complete speaker is the Xtreme 3.
hum, thats not what im hearing.
@@alanrossreviews vocals seem a bit more forward on the XB43 and it's a touch more detailed, at least that's what it seems like to me through the video.
In the last part of the comparison when volume is set at 100 the xb43 is actually better than the xtreme 3 both plugged in and on battery, the treble and brighter sound on Xtreme 3 which seems to make it more appealing at 80% volume and below now made it too sharp and uncomfortable at 100% volume especially when you are very close to the speaker, while the sb43 is well balanced at 100% volume and now have more treble probably due to the slightly reduced bass imo.
if indeed you will be playing at max volume
That said you're following the mechanics of it all however adding in narrative for the part you cannot explain. just change your terminology from "bass" to power...and ditch you're extra narrative explaining some sort of post processing lol
The funny part is it's your tuning doing this, not sony or jbl.
learn about db's and specifically in the context of amplifying!
That said fantastic productions you do, I've watched and enjoyed many of your videos! Keep it up and thanks for the content!
Oh just want to point out, am from the "school of thought" that audio, at the end of the day is what the listener prefers. An eq setting like your +3 +6 +4 is like a "loudness" setting for the lower volume levels...whereever there is the headroom (meaning power availability to produce those bass frequencies)
I think if you looked for a graph of wattage (power) vs frequency (for a given db level of course) it will very much highlight what is happening / what I've tried to explain.
lol! you actually think the sony app is a proper equaliser with graduated db levels???
headroom is indeed there, specfically to allow the adjustments in the app. ue on the other hand will do the opposite, drop headroom as soon as you go into custom eq. know your speakers rather than judge a man by his clothes i would say. thats not even getting into the dynamic range limiters employed on these speakers of that the eq is often volume step specific and a balance of frequencies rather than what you seem to believe, a genuine equaliser. watts is power, hz is a frequency. youre welcome. bass vs power
@@alanrossreviews okay, sorry for adding to your content. I'll peace out and avoid. take care.
peace bro!

Which is louder?
so if I ask you to choose one, which one would you bought?
It's tough as they sound different, maybe x3 more outdoors and xb43 more indoors
Please make a review sir allan
Soundcore rave neo vs sony xb43 ..
😝
Cheers!!!
"I do use this on a daily basis". XB43. Ummmm
... I seem to remember you not being too positive about this in a previous review... I will have to go check, when I have the time. I believe it was when you tested it against its predecessors
yup, its not perfect, it never sounds great, its heavy. but its a lot cheaper now, has a big soundstage and a very safe sound that sounds fine with most genres and tracks but never great. its an easy listen and i only use custom eq.
What is the best eq for Sony xb33
Hi Alan was the ExtraBass turned on?
always.........
The sony xb 43 actually is 160 watts and jbl xtreme 3 is 40watts/50watts
And trump will be the next president 😊🎺
I am a fair man, I am the owner of an XB43. And to be fair it sounds good, but the Xtreme sounds nicer
Fair
I know is an old video, but right now the Sony bx43 is 150 dlls and the Jbl extreme 3 is 380 dlls
whats the question??
@@alanrossreviews there's no question, I'm just letting people know is sale on the Sony xb43 speaker. Is 150 dollars in the usa on Bstbuy and Amazon
The🥰 best review ever 😍
Amaizing ur taste in music is just as same as me
I loved the Jbl extreme 3 just amazing speaker 🥰🥰🥰🥰
your saying you liked it?? 😜😜😝😊
Bro .i need ur advise. Boombox 1 is price the same with Xtreme 3. Which one should i Get. I don't care about the portability . I care more with Sound quality and Bass 💕 please i need ur Advice thanks 😊

@@alanrossreviews what?
Xtreme 3 ez
Question on USB-C charging, I can charge my XB43 with a normal 5V usb charger or a power bank I use for my phone. Very handy for camping when I don't have access to power. Can you charge the Xtreme 3 from a simple power bank or does it have to be at 20V? GREAT review!
No any usb c charger will do, just be slower
Xtreme 3 is better for my ear. Deeper bass and more mature sound...thank you for your great review...
Yep no contest here, xb43 is a middle of the road speaker while xtreme 3 can dig down deep and rock out 😁😁👍
Extrabass is always louder on sony staff...you should try
Mostly at max vol
Not true.
I have all them since the srs xb3.... the only one i dont is 23 33 43......yes its true.....standard mode is flater but talking about loudness extrabass on forshore
gioviecelli
any serious tests between this sony and xtreme 2 and 3.... people turn on the extra bass on sony! and sony in all other tests against jbl xtreme (2 and 3) won. only in this channel did not activate the xtra bass.
@@gioviecelli there are lot of people who don't know how to work sony speakers.....
What do you think about Boombox and Xtreme 3 comparison?
are you doing one?
It's become a good detailed test. 👌 Is there a lot of difference between bass and volume?
volume not so much but xtreme 3 is different level for deep bass.
@@alanrossreviews Thanks for the reply. So you don't think xb43 would be a bad purchase?
@@jozsefgore787 no its a very safe sound, just a bit heavy and never sounding really great.
@Alan Ross Reviews got my xb43 for 115 usa can't beat it
@@alanrossreviews it sounds amazing you really have to break it in
Great video Alan👍 Are your XB43 custom EQ settings with extra bass on or off?
extra bass=clear audio, you cant do eq AND extra bass so eq is always extra bass off.
@@alanrossreviews if you dont activate the extra bass ..you steal. . anyone knows this box works best with the extra bass active.
which is better xb 43 or LG PL7 ??
Xb43 for bass, pl7 for sparkle
@@alanrossreviews thank you very much i been watching your videos i love your depth in detail in every review 10/10
I don't get it. When this video was recorded it was a difference of US$100 I guess. You're comparing a US$350 speaker with a US$250...
Do you need to get it? You could simply not watch? 🤔
Well in my country i can buy 2 xb43s for price of 1 extreme 3
sounds like a better deal
Which has better bass and overall??
Xtreme 3 by a mile
Are u sure use ldac on sony in this review??
its the default codec.
Which will u pick becoz here in europe the price are xb43 €179 , extreme3 €195... I hope u can help me...
xb43 = safe, unexciting, suits most genres
x3 = bass heavy, suits rockers, can sound exciting but not with all genres
@@alanrossreviews thank u
Is there an app for the JBL 3?
yup!
@@alanrossreviews also for Equalizing internally?
Not yet
I can get the Xtreme 3 for €115 thanks to giftcards. Would you pick the Xtreme 3 or the XB43 for even less? I currently have the charge 3
for me JBL wins
tnx for comparison
mr alan ross
no problem jeff!
Is the D8 still louder than the Extreme 3? Thanks 🙃
we will find out shortly.....😋
@@alanrossreviews good news 🎉😜
I think the Boombox champ is the Teufel Rockster Cross....
if size isnt a factor
Its overpriced garbage with reduced bass for high volume. Passive driver that barely moves.
So jbl do not need EQ
Is there an equaliser app for the JBL?
nope! too much time designing the logo! 😂
@@alanrossreviews Thanks for the reply! Do Bluetooth speakers tend have some form of default equalisation that they apply? Or is the sound profile defined simply by the actual physical speaker components?
Hi brother
Xb43 xtreme 3 which better bass
x3 for deeper bass
Two wishes Alan, an xtreme 3 vs boombox 2, and some impression of a non-gg version. If you could it would be ever so interesting..
no plans on boombox for now, too big for me.
@@alanrossreviews well thanks all the same 😊 just thought the xtreme 3 started to scratch the boundary between them.. but I get where you're coming from, thanks for the excellent reviews!
Is the Sony very loud indoors
define loud, not overly.
@@alanrossreviews sound that travels all over a bedroom maybe
But iphone do not support ldac end android device is very few can that support ldac
android: 71.9%, iOS: 27.33% most people listen via android

🤷
Extreme 3 has good bass.
Can you change the jbl on usb ?
not without a clever mod, it needs 60 watts.
@@alanrossreviews ok i do not know hvat a clever mod is, i have usb in my boat and need a speaker for it
Jbl has adaptive sound procesing
lol!
Which sounds better ?
did you watch the video? 😂
Jbl All the way.. Yeah Sony improves a lot.. Its louder and cheaper but I like the tuning of JBL bold and destinctive sound. Even if its expensive I would still pay it to hear that legendary sound..
or you could get an onyx 6 or 7 for less with more deep bass for cheaper or for even less the motion boombox which also goes deeper than the jbl
I got an old onyx 5 and fine for me for indoor and looking to replace my xtreme for xtreme3.. I don't like any kind of soundcore speakers even if its louder friendly price and more specs
Ok, 😛
