The JBL sounds better on the highs, but considering that the SONY is half the price currently and that you can adjust the sound with the eq, it has a lot more value for the price!
I'd actually choose Sony Over JBL, but i still bought JBL Xtreme 3 in the end, since when i heard them both in Person, Sony only had deeper and punchier bass, thats it, but in terms of natural sound, treble, and vocals JBL is better and also slightly louder.. for me quality is better than bass. Yes. And especially when you have to keep the volume down. At night when I am up and everyone else is sleeping I use the EQ features a lot to great effect. Plus, I use this speaker at work where low bass is lost in the factory noise. I just EQ the bass way down and save a lot of battery life.

Of course if your Sony or Other Brands you would say up to 24 hrs, even if it has no lights, 50% volume, etc. If you're one of them would you say "go buy another brand ours doesn't last a day in full volume with lights, etc". You know what I'm saying right?
Since XB30 (the last decent speaker from Sony) you definetely have to correct the sound and push the highs with it's implemented EQ (via Sony App). Default the highs are an insult for normal ears. Even with XBASS it doesn't get better. They should instead had implemented a Loudness Mode what pushes bass and highs. I don't quite understand why Sony mess up again and again when it comes to default sound setting. Hardware is pretty OK but setup is crap. Maybe in Japan it is forbidden to push sparkling and definition in highs...
There is no way that Sony is on full shabang. My xb43 sounds. Identical. To my xtreme 3 I’ve just bought to replace it. I’m gutted when u adjust the 43 too it sounds so much better balanced that’s crazy
I owned 2 extreme 2 in the past I think the Sony is way better I was reluctant to switching because I’m a jbl fanboy but there’s no comparison Sony is the clear winner
i dont get why people love the sound of JBL i got C3, C4, xtreme 2...it definitely has lower bass but extremely has zero upper bass, lol, I sold my JBLs for sony XB41, planning to get XB43..Sony doesnt that have that crystal clear sound of course they have their own signature sound, JBL has that balanced sound quality but absolutely has no kick. Try listening to both speakers from a far you cannot even hear an echo or bass from jbl because of that zero upper bass, wrong design of speakers, how can sound even resonate if the passive radiator or the speaker itself is slightlt lifted.🤣.Sony's engineering is superb, it resonates well because of the desig
The JBL has more high end, gives extra definition to the music but at loud volumes it's "ice pick to the eardrum". The sony has better low end, but at the same time, less high end, so if you listen to music that requires a lot of clarity, then the Sony definitely is not for you..
They both have boosted treble actually. Jbl is a a bit more than the Sony and it also has more forward mid range. But it completely loses its bass at high volumes. Idk why
Sonny had an extra bass filter on so it sounded lower. Right next to it’s name it said extra base on. He’s probably using a eq setting with Apple Music. I do the same thing with my small speakers, only I use hip hop filter instead of extra bass.
Obviously, DLX Wilmington did a great job of reviewing the speakers as usual, but I just wanted to give my 2 cents as someone with the xb43. I think that ultimately, the Sony is a much better deal - all things considered. It has a great sound that is clear, full and punchy, especially when placed in a corner and it also has a great app with a built-in EQ, light customizations, and even the ability to turn off the speaker through your phone. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the sound quality and portability of this speaker - it’s the perfect balance. The Xtreme 3 is no doubt a great speaker that sounds very similar in terms of quality to the Sony, but it lacks an EQ and overall just doesn’t have as many cool quirks or features. The biggest difference is also the price. I got my Sony for $215 (w/ tax) through Bestbuy since there was a sale. I almost bought the Xtreme 3 as I’ve always had JBL speakers, but I couldn’t justify spending $370 total for a speaker that sounded extremely similar and lacked every other feature that the Sony had. Overall, the Sony is a MUCH better bang for your buck all things considered. We’ve seen the amazing things they’ve done in the mirrorless camera world and I’m excited to see them moving into the speaker world and bringing real competition. The only company I haven’t been impressed with at all has been UE. Their only exceptional speaker is the Hyperboom.
Year later 2022.06.24 Sony is on sale again 180... from 28I.. Great summary & details... I Love JBL portable bluetooth speakers But saving 100 plus Sony has 24 hr battery vs 15 hr for JBL...
Even tho I’m listening to this video on an xb43 I can still tell the extreme 3 has better highs , I don’t get how it still has tweeters and still doesn’t have good highs but I guess that what eq is for . Looking at rtings graphs the Sony is the king of bass and the Jbl is best for sound clarity
They are literally pretty much the same when it comes to bass and mids. Some songs the Sony's bass was slightly better and some the JBL's was. The treble on the JBL can be over powering and harsh at times. The Sony's sound is much more balanced and even if you want more treble or bass Sony has an equalizer! I don't see the competition here because Sony has the EQ. You can make it's highs sound more like the JBL's if you want to and you can tune it's bass to punch a little harder if that's what you prefer. With the JBL you get what you get. So the argument of the JBL sounding better isn't a good one because they sound so similar and you can change the Sony to your liking. Plus the Sony has a lot of cool features (lights, fiestable app, EQ settings). The JBL has a strap to carry it with. Also, the Sony is 100 dollars cheaper...and they literally sound so similar. Both speakers sound great but DLX willinginton overall recommended the Sony and he was absolutely correct.
I bought the Sony. It looks nicer and it is much cheaper. In the video the JBL sounds a bit better. I tried both in real. In my opinion the XB43 having a much better bass in big rooms.
Randomly go to shopping and bought xm43 accidentally because the details you can heard in full volume is way better than others way far away even tho they mention extra bass but the details is more sharper
i got 2x xb43 for 275$ on black friday beffore 3 weeks agoo and i can say it it sound diffrent when you compare 1 solo xb43 and 2 in stereo mode the sound is more filling up but overall what DLX said is true you get aloot more options from sony for that price and also that LDAC codec if you havent tested it yet whit phone who actually have that option to stream on that codec go and check it out the sound is even better and bit more louder :).
I'm a Sony fan all day long but JBL has the highs that Sony should of had on the xb43 since its displaying tweets on the front of the speak need to be able to hear them that's my only issue with Sony xb43 JBL just costs way to much and dosen't have as much features as sony yes the JBL has nice bass on previous models now the extreme 3 has too much when it's at max volume and not enough bass to back it up now if they can get the bass to smack with them highs and mids at max volume then JBL will be worth 350 dollars in my opinion
Since XB30 (the last decent speaker from Sony) you definetely have to correct the sound and push the highs with it's implemented EQ (via Sony App). Default the highs are an insult for normal ears. I think the Sony tweeters work good especially when you adjust the EQ and put it on live mode and and if you have DTS 3D sound on your phone then you'll really see those tweeted shine I used to have to check my extreme to just to see if they were working Xtreme 3 a little bit too much

Sony Srs-xb43 ftw! It's a no brainer, best bang for your buck bt speaker imo. I'm enjoying my xb43 with it's lights, EQ and battery life. I also uploaded comparison videos on my channel. Will compare it to my HK studio 5 soon. 🙂

Does the live sound mode push the highs? Because I heard that from other reviewers. Would the srs xb 43 high sound better with it and maybe better than the jbl xtreme 3?
in slovakia the xb43 normaly costs around 150€-200€. Is it worth it in this prize tag. Im curently choosing between jbl xtreme 3 that costs 300€ and the xb 43 and the xg500 that costs 330€. So what do you recomend more?
I would give the win to JBL, but I would really reduce it's highs, they just hurt my ears. With the Sony I won't get hurting ears, but it's not getting as low, and It lacks a bit of clarity.
the problems you have buddy whit xb43 can be fixed whit tunning the EQ mode and you also need the second one :) for pair stereo no wonder why the price is twice lower from jbl but they force you to buy a pair to be able to expirience the full potential of the sound couse you wont get it whit just 1 speaker

Absolutely! When something sounds how you like, you'll like it more!
Yes. And especially when you have to keep the volume down. At night when I am up and everyone else is sleeping I use the EQ features a lot to great effect. Plus, I use this speaker at work where low bass is lost in the factory noise. I just EQ the bass way down and save a lot of battery life.
@@nicabc yeah but i was wondering if the eq like actually worked well, not like on the ue speakers where if u turn something up it turns everything else down

Yessss we got a conparison whit the xtreme 1, xtreme 2, studio 6, and now the xb 43
Thanks for the video bruh... quite helpful
Also I forgot to mention these two sound practically the same except xtreme has more highs giving more clarity
Both are extraordinary no comments
They sound the same in lows and mids, but the highs are more pronounced on the xtreme 3.
They sound very different in real life.
I demo both today at the store.
JBL Xtreme 3 is so bright and sharp ear piercing didn't like it.
Sony Xb43 sounds warmer and more balanced. in my opinion better.
Sony sound was amazing
Are you deaf?? The JBL Xtreme 3 blew it away.

Plz..tell me about battery life...
With and without..extra bass and light...
So what ?
Sony didn't blast the xb43 at full volume did they? At average moderate volume it can last 24 hours.
So....what?
Of course if your Sony or Other Brands you would say up to 24 hrs, even if it has no lights, 50% volume, etc. If you're one of them would you say "go buy another brand ours doesn't last a day in full volume with lights, etc". You know what I'm saying right?
Sony srs xb43 is best speaker or jbl Xtreme 3 which speaker is best tell me
I was able to get 2 xb43 for the price of a single jbl extreme 3.
So it's a no-brainer imo

Not all people like upper bass
The JBL has more high end, gives extra definition to the music but at loud volumes it's "ice pick to the eardrum".
The sony has better low end, but at the same time, less high end, so if you listen to music that requires a lot of clarity, then the Sony definitely is not for you..
There is no way the Sony has a better low-end I'm sorry it was proven on a frequency graph and people's ears
25hz for xb43
F👹K IT... I'MMA JUST GET THEM BOTH 🤑💲
Obviously, DLX Wilmington did a great job of reviewing the speakers as usual, but I just wanted to give my 2 cents as someone with the xb43.
I Love JBL portable bluetooth speakers
But saving 100 plus Sony has 24 hr battery vs 15 hr for JBL...
Actually, with the JBL app, you can change the highs and lows of bass, mid, and treble.
Bring on three-way speakers and be done with the high-low-mid issue.
Like which ones ?
@@lightskinantics4200 teufel boomster ng
Sony soft boomy Bass, JBL metallic Bass...maybe they have the same amount of Bass..just diffent in kind ...JBL has well separated Low,Mid,High...

In my opinion the XB43 having a much better bass in big rooms.

i got 2x xb43 for 275$ on black friday beffore 3 weeks agoo and i can say it it sound diffrent when you compare 1 solo xb43 and 2 in stereo mode the sound is more filling up but overall what DLX said is true you get aloot more options from sony for that price and also that LDAC codec if you havent tested it yet whit phone who actually have that option to stream on that codec go and check it out the sound is even better and bit more louder :).
Sony is my fav. But this time jbl xtm is lit🔥

I think the Sony tweeters work good especially when you adjust the EQ and put it on live mode and and if you have DTS 3D sound on your phone then you'll really see those tweeted shine I used to have to check my extreme to just to see if they were working Xtreme 3 a little bit too much
Yeah I hope JBL sends out a firmware update For the Xtreme 3 but I don't think they get that base to smack with the piercing highs on high volume
