just wanna say that this is still extremely good considering you're a solo dev, i've played many hacks in my day and some of the best ones are still really janky. So the fact you're trying really hard to make it play cleanly is very respectable. Keep working at your own pace man, we'll be here to support you

Checked in for the first time since seeing the original video, just to see this on the channel. As a gen 3 fan, I am so excited to see how this turns out, I cant wait to play it and see the gen 3 art style transformed into something new.

bro regardless of what the final project ends up releasing as (fingers crossed as someone genuinely hyped to play it myself just based off the idea being dope and as a fellow creator seeing the passion in your demeanour whenever you speak on it) I CAN say it WILL be something "Grand" as you nervously put it, Man you're ONE person working on a project others can enjoy (or dislike everything isn't for everyone and that in itself is okay) but you're doing this alone from the heart for something you love, and if that isn't the definition of creation, then what is? I know it's probably gonna be a point of contention to have it be a pure Gen 3 game, since some people can't play a Pokémon game without the PSS (Understandably, the split made a lot of stuff make much more sense), but that didnt stop me from enjoying Shining Opal, so I don't think it'd stop me from enjoying this one either. Plus, if I understood correctly, it's cool that you intend this to be compatible with the official Gen 3 games. There's something about that I really like, and the only other hack I've seen with that as a priority is Crystal Clear. That and it leads to some more creativity via limitations, if that makes sense. :)

Game looks amazing so far. I was on the fence with it having Gen 3 mechanics/Pokemon, but after hearing your plan to have it inline with the other Gen 3 games, I fully support it. Also, after watching you play the Too Many Types hack, I thought the metronome finger at 23:34 was Texas from the Ohio type 😅. Good luck and god speed!

I hope this isn't to much to ask. But could you add the physical special split. So pokemon like Crawdaunt are good. I know you said you want to be as close to gen 3 and i really love that cause Ruby was my first Pokemon game. Physically Special split should have been in Gen 3 in my opinion.
I want to make my own hack (more of a re-imagining) of Platinum. Seeing you make this has really got my gears turning. Though, I'm a coward and don't want to learn coding so I'll probably just try making it in RPG Maker or something. Can't wait for Chrysocolla!

Thats why my mother told me not to speak about things i want to do and havnt finished. It rewards you on the one hand for something thats not done and on the other hand it puts unnessesary preassure on you. I really hope you still have fun finishing it. Of cause i would love to play it ❤

Why not "Pokémon Stardust" - when jirachi is the cover leggy.
Or sth like "Pokémon Malachite" since it's the crystal found in meteors.
And then you can do some nice meteorfields instead of a vulcano, with some green shining stones and cheese the jirachi an always green shiny.

You say the point of the original video was to tell a story, but I'll be honest I have no idea what story you were looking to tell then. Its a thumbnail and title that are clickbait-adjacent implying that your project is better than the newest mainline titles (I'm hoping you aren't the type to play at pedantry about this) and talks about an unfinished development process that doesn't use the most recent hacking tools and data.
Was the story meant to inform? If so, it informed about personal preferences and somewhat outdated hacking methods that lead to various issues which you've yet to fully overcome. I don't feel thats very helpful.
Was the story meant to entertain? There is no climax, the goals and idea you presented have not been completed. The issues you discuss are issues you've still yet to fix. It is more analogous to a prologue of a journey. a prologue alone is not a full story.
Was the story meant to simply tell people about your life and what you've wanted to work on? You explicitly state here people begging for a playable build or telling you of other tools you could use to streamline parts of your process have hindered you, putting them in the same general category as those who have sent death threats and used slurs against you. I don't know what kind of conversation or critiques you would've otherwise expected when making the video.
You could definitely argue "well, you just didn't get it clearly." Because yeah, I 100% genuinely don't understand what you could possibly mean when you say the video was only meant to tell a story, a personal anecdote, when I legitimately can't find a lens through which to analyze the content other than "I'm making this thing, its going to be better than the mainline entries, and I want people to know about it."

Honestly, you wouldn't have received the negative reception you did had you not done the cringe clickbait. You got what you deserved with that. You can't say you didn't know what was going to happen. This is the internet. Everybody saw what was going to happen the moment you titled your thumbnail and video the way you did. But you, apparently. (Unless this was intentional to gain more interest in the project and farm clout. Something A LOT of Pokemon rom hackers have done and many other game hackers.)
This project is absolutely amazing for one person to pull off. Considering the negative reception of the last video actually made this massive of an impact on the development process (As you described, put emphasis on and implied), it's a shame. Mainly because the development progress could have been a lot further ahead by now or possibly even have finished by now.
I really want to play this hack. I can't wait to. This looks incredible as a completely unique Gen 3 experience. All of the custom work is incredible and it's obvious a lot of love went into it.
An amazing project being made by someone who wanted to clickbait once and it backfired a bit on him. Maybe refrain from doing that in the future. Lesson learned hopefully.
All of the negativity could have been avoided had you just not clickbaited. Had you left the video the exact same way and not made the title and the thumbnail the way you did, you wouldn't have had the negative reception you got. All it required was a tiny bit of restraint. But you got what you wanted. More reception. And with more reception. You also got more criticism, hate and skepticism.
