Is the NEW 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle the LUXURY minivan to BUY?
Вставка

- The Pacifica has been updated and the Pinnacle is at the top of the heap. Chrysler has taken their best selling Pacifica and done a ton of updating. Under the hood is the 3.6L V6 287HP and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Getting power to the ground is a sophisticated AWD system. On the outside you will find a revised front fascia, wheels and sheet metal. On the inside you will find the highest level of materials in any minivan. Premium Nappa leather, the all new UCONNECT5 system and that's just the beginning. Is the NEW 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle the LUXURY minivan to BUY?

1:17 Anyone else notice that Pacifica in the background being driven with the trunk door open? LOL
Yes, I wondered what was going on.
@@GT-bx1jp Just off camera there is actually a T1000 model chasing them in a helicopter, and the occupants are about to shoot out the back of the van.

Can you make a comparison video between Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid vs Toyota Sienna Hybrid both 2021 models?
Joe, I love how you’re so down to earth. Been watching for the past several months now and gets better every day. I also appreciate how you use food to demonstrate how big a storage space is🤣
No one will ever make a better Minivan then Chrysler. Honda and Toyota are good, but Chrysler will always be the most comfortable to ride in
honda and toyota will last forever, that chrysler will fall apart at 200 k kms.
I agree... Chrysler is the original..
@@pope9349 what is it supposed to last... 400?
@@pope9349 any car over 200k kms in unsafe anyways
@@pope9349 Outdated mindset from many decades ago, not supported by stats. The Pentastar powertrain they have in there is one of the most reliable in the industry, and as this is more of a refresh than a total ground up redesign its going to be just as reliable as the previous generation. Even Consumer Reports that has always been biased against domestics has put Dodge/Chrysler in their top 10 most reliable brands list.
That’d be cool if they made an SRT Pacifica an Hellcat Pacifica

@@TD-il6ju lol
The chassis won't fit anything bigger than the V6. What they didn't do, but they could do in a refresh, is to put beefier electric motor on the rear of the plugin hybrid version so that it makes more, rather than less, horsepower than the current. If they then don't detune the V6 so it makes its full 290hp combined with say a 100hp electric motor, throw on some fender flares with wider tires and you'd have an SRT version.

That rear is SEXY. Looks fabulous, unlike the new Sienna that looks like it was sucked into the year 3020 and then spat out back into 2020, way outstanding and looks less of minivan and more of an accident.

Chrysler cars are usually very goodlooking, but longterm reliability is very bad. A sienna will last waaaay longer than a pacifica. I wish Toyota made the sienna goodlooking or Chrysler made good quality cars

Chrysler products always look nice and have a great amount of luxury.... but I'd never get a Chrysler due to how unreliable they are
I loved my 2017 Pacifica except for the metal trim on the steering wheel. Even though it was heated, your palms are freezing in the winter. Not a good design. And I would have liked more physical buttons, for heated seats and steering wheel, and a sync button, instead of having to take my eyes off the wheel to go into the screen. Otherwise, nice car.
That is a very good point John!

BTW, have you reviewed the new 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4? I was just about to buy a 991.2 GT3 but the GT4 seems like the perfect driver's car. It's naturally aspirated and you can get it in a manual, like the GT3 (and I believe those are the only two Porsches that you can say that about), but the GT3 is also mid-engine, giving it an advantage over the rear engine GT3. It's also the right weight and has the right amount of power, and razor sharp handling...so you have the perfect driver's car! Even Car and Driver couldn't think of a bad thing to say about it. It revs super high and that naturally aspirated engine right behind you renders your stereo meaningless, since that's the music you always want to have playing. Right amount of power, razor sharp handling, mid-engine...you can just hit it and not have to be careful with it, as with the GT3. Just let 'er rip!
Everybody gonna steal that special pillow.
I know right Jaden!

Am I the only one whose getting sick and tired of looking at gray and silver and charcoal colored cars!!?? If it's not silver, it's white, black or gold/tanned. There is LITERALLY like a million different colors and shades, yet EVERY car manufacturer paints their cars the exact same colors... even high end luxury cars. They all look the same. To me it just screams LAZINESS! In the case of this Pacifica van that costs around $50,000 with all it's electronics and gimmicks (which I don't trust until I can see how they fair on a long-term basis,) I would expect there to be a little more creativity in the painting department. So they gave the van a facelift? That's a given. They should do that anyway. So they give it a facelift and paint it the same old color as my 1989 Pontiac 6000 that I had like 25 years ago!? Ya'll see where I'm going with this, right??
You and Lori do a great job in presenting for us an honest, clear view of the product at hand. I been thinking about ditching my SUV for one of these for my Labs and home improvement projects. Your selling me buddy!
Stow 'n Go is where the middle row seats fold into the floor, and it's only available on lower trim levels. All new minivans' third rows fold into the floor.

Just sold our Pacifica. Chrystlers just aren't reliable. I loved the interior and the storage but the transmission shifted hard, the steering had issues when making a hard turn at low speeds, and the infotainment system would intermittently not work. I wanted to like it but I will never buy a Chrystler again. (Owned a Town & Country before that and it also had issues)

I’m considering this car. I know that the 2nd row isn’t stowed and goes in the hybrid. Do you know if those seats can be removed from the vehicle? I can’t find a dealer within 100 miles with it on the lot for me to confirm.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one Morgan.
Have to agree. They really nailed the body lines on this van. The only thing I'm not wild about is the slightly wide chrome trim surrounding the windows. It would probably look more muted on a lighter colored van such as white or silver.
I have a 2002 Grand Caravan. Unfortunately for me stow n go seating was avail until 2003. However, with the 2nd & 3rd row seats removed, I've had the flexibility to carry 7 pass, or 4x8 ft plywood sheets, 7 ft bookshelves or even a 8 ft lg sofa. Pacifica/Caravans also now come with AWD & hybrid engine. Maximum cargo capability/flexibility & AWD. No other minivan or SUV can beat that!
Thanks for sharing that great input from your ownership!
26:10 I like how a previous model just glide ever so elegantly pass it

Awesome review. We have a loaded 2017 Pacifica Limited, but I gotta say this refreshed 2021 looks incredible! Fwiw our early built 2017 has been extremely reliable. 👍🏼
You’re right, Odyssey and Sienna cannot compete with this Pinnacle 😳😳
Thanks for letting me share it with you and thank you for your input based of your ownership experience!
I have an early build 2017 Limited as well. Now have 65k miles. Reliability has been meh. Here are the issues after warranty expired; replaced head light assembly ~$250, replaced battery at 33 months, rust on hood where it abuts the grill (seen other's with that issue as well) sliding door does not close and latch consistently. Interior has held up nicely. Would I buy a new one? nope.
We had a 17 Limited as well. Transmission was my biggest worry and the reason I got rid of it. It was the 8-speed. Sometimes, going around a corner coasting, when you accelerated out, the engine would rev and then catch a gear creating a very, very hard thunk like the transmission was going to fall out of it. It was also hard shifting about 45-55mph if you stepped on it a little to get a lower gear. The doors had a mind of their own and if you didn't watch them latch, you might walk out to your car a couple hours later only to find the door standing wide open. I'm hopeful they fixed those issues as it was the first year of the Pacifica. Sounds like the 2021 has as different transmission so that's good. Chrysler issued a couple of recalls on the transmission but our issues remained after the supposed fix. I'm sure the sliding door issue was just a first model year issue and has been rectified. Finally, the headphones for the Uconnect entertainment are God awful expensive and the cheap generic ones don't work with Chrysler's system. The battery holder on the headphones was very prone to breaking due to the springs pushing the AA's against the holder. It was such a big issue that Delphi would issue you replacement battery covers for the headphones if you called them.
Another great review Joe. By the way, that "chauffer" button on the side of the b-pillar you pushed is actually for the front seats to slide up and forward so those storage bins in the floor of the 2nd row can be opened all the way so you can store the seats. It retains the memory setting of the seat too so when you press it again, the seat slides back to it's previous position.

Nice job, no wonder you are getting close to 400 k subscribers. Keep up!
Is this 9 speeds transmission the same used in Honda vehicles being manufactured by a Japanese company?
No wonder the hybrid version transmission resembling parallel hybrid system from Toyota is smoother and more reliable on top of 1.5 less gasoline consumption when battery is exhausted. Onviously AWD is a shame not to offered in hybrid version.
It’s definitely nice, but I would never be able to bring myself to buy a Chrysler product.

Interior is way better than the front fascia.

I would only consider this in hybrid. Still, it would be tough to choose over Toyota's reliability.
