    PHEV for minivan is ideal - people who need minivans for hauling people or random stuff are making short trips constantly, not long commutes. Wish more manufacturers opted for this combination.

    Here is the few things about this. Love the rear besides the climate controls on one side only. The screen in the front is small. I thought it would be wider/bigger. The one other thing is that the heated and ventilation shouldn’t be in the screen. It’s distractive especially using Apple car play, etc. Awesome video once again! Can’t wait for tomorrow! ❤❤❤

    We had a 2017 top trim level Pacifica with blu ray player, vacuum, etc. We were second owner with about 40,000km on the clock.
    The good: tons of room, the blu ray player and screens in second row was awesome for kids. Good power from engine. Stow and go for the seats and amount of stuff you can pile in this vehicle is unbelievable. The power sliding doors were a great convenience feature! The vacuum was super handy and not sure why this isn’t standard for all vehicles!
    The bad: the tech on our 2017 even at that time was substandard. (It’s the same for the 2024’s!)The backup camera quality was terrible (and in the 2024 we looked at, it hasn’t been upgraded which is a big miss). Many of the tech features were glitchy from day 1. We had several instances were the power sliding doors would not close or open. We were on flat ground and nothing in the way. No thyme or reason when it would happen. Dodge looked at them and could not figure out why? As time went on, we had random times when the vehicle wouldn’t start. Batteries changed on both remotes and it would glitch up. Would have to disconnect battery for hours to reset the vehicle and then it would be good for a week/sometimes a month. The vacuum, while convenient, for some reason never worked consistently. Dodge had to no reason why it did that and being out of warranty we never dug into it. We had many instances for no reason the transmission would shift very hard at slow and highway speeds. I was sure that the transmission was going to to blow up on us..fortunately it never did.
    Bottom line: great vehicle for a few years, but beware as the miles and age get up there, there will be reliability issues and it will start to fall apart. I would recommend getting a used one and dump it before it gets too old or lease one. We looked at a 2024, so 7 years newer than ours, and it basically hasn’t changed and technology the same. I’m sorry, but in 2024 I expect more for a 2024 model and the sticker price on these is ridiculous!

      i mean the engine shouldn’t have no problems. i can’t speak for the hybrid but the 3.6 pentastars been in production since 2011 and been mass produced in a lot of GM cars.

      Im surprised to read this because I test drove one this week and found the cameras to be very good. Especially compared to the 2021 Sienna I test drove earlier in the day whose back up camera was DIRE.

    We rented a 2023 Pacifica for a 1000 mile family road trip. We were quite impressed. Had great power and excellent mileage. Not sure if I would buy one, but would rent one again if we need it.

    I leased a 2017 Pacifica. I hadn’t eh top level trim at the time, the Limited with the entertainment package (dual rear screens, on-board vacuum, panoramic roof). Honestly one of the best vehicles I ever had. I recall parking it next to a Mercedes GLE SUV and comparing the interior - The Pacifica hands down was better. And with the stow-away 2nd row seats I would never consider the Honda Odyssey with its wonky 2nd row, or any other mini-van. With all the seats folded I could get in full sheets of 4x8 plywood, or roll in our electric bikes. The bonus was on along trip from Southern California to Santa Fe, NM I was getting…..not kidding….38mpg!

    • @FunAtDisney
      @FunAtDisney 2 місяці тому +3

      Only the Pacifica has the stow-away 2nd row, and when I leased mine (2017) that was a wonderful benefit. I could use the Pacifica like a pick-up truck loading in plywood, wall block, lumber… (yes, I put a mat down to protect the outstanding interior). But I will say, it is an aging design.

    • @FunAtDisney
      @FunAtDisney 2 місяці тому +2

      Gotta say, I hate the seat color. My 2017 Limited (top. trim back then) had a light gray that went with the black much better. And the instrument cluster and the center screen, center console and really the exterior is all aging.

    I like the Pacifica a lot, but we ended up buying the Toyota Sienna Platinum. We are used to Toyota, its WAYYYY more reliable, and the hybrid is a no brainer for the 36 mpg

      It’s all they need. It’s an upscale family car. Last of the successful minivans that kept the company afloat. Until they come back with another SUV, which would be redundant, it’s probably the last Chrysler branded car we will ever see.

    I had a plug in hybrid pacifica when we went out of town and the EV only range of 32 miles was more like 10 actual miles. We drive it very conservatively to get the most out of it but we still were losing about 1 mile of ev range for every half mile we drove maybe less in all EV mode. So in our experience, the plug in hybrid is not worth it as the miles deplete rather quickly but overall this van was super nice and comfy the whole trip.

    Ii have 21 limited AWD never got more than 22MG on HWY and 15-16MG on the city drive, the sheet of plywood will not feet its just 91'' space ,you have to move 5'' front seat to fit something 8' long, ( with make you almost imposible to drive) transmission is different story (its really bad ) special if compare to Japan or Korean cars, and cabin noise is annoying, if you drive on HWY 75MH almost can't speak to second row, nobody can hear you :( this is my second pacifica and looks like at end of the lease will be last , Kia Carnival or Odyssey will be next.

    The Hybrid version was the most unreliable car in America according to one survey. Ill believe considering all the other issues Stellantis products have been having.
    I wonder what the fate of the Chrysler brand is going to be. All the Stellantis brands seems have some cronic issues.
    Currently they have so much unsold inventory because people dont want to buy various models.

    Your review says the Pinnacle does NOT have Stow and Go seating in the second row. Are you sure about that? I'm seeing conflicting information online. Anybody else know if the 2024 Pinnacle can stow the 2nd row seats?

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  Місяць тому

      On this Pinnacle, there was definitely no place for the seats to be stowed under the floor (2nd row)
