God I miss him so much. He is not only an under rated singer/musician but an under rated, misunderstood man.
Im so glad this video exists. Scott was an INSANELY TALENTED SINGER. Ofc the media chose not to ever mention that. It was the most important part. ❤
the album No. 4 by STP really displays scotts vocal versatility
He may not have had the most amazing range, but his music and his emotion really cuts through
Don’t need a great range to have a great voice. Chris Cornell can only go 3 octaves and listen to him.
@@samtheman123 I agree one hundred percent but Chris could also pull off F5s and G5s
@@grimzal214 Chris voice was great, but got a little whiny/annoying after while. I can listen to Scott all day.
Agree it's his emotions
@@AstroZombie1 . Chris had more soul and blues in his voice. Scott had a higher range. Both were generational talents and exceptionally gifted singers and two of the three best ( along with Layne Staley ) of the 90s to 2010 rock movement as far as pure lyrical talent.
The best compliment he could ever gotten 1:18
I think piece of pie showcases his vocal power
Scott weiland is a beautiful man
Scott Wieland one of the greatest who flew the 90s era flag high a giant in the music 🌎❤️💀😎👊🤘🤟
He’s missed by many. ❤
my favorite is lady picture show and interstate love song
His vocals on the chorus of Still Remains are really hard as well
This! That song is the hardest of them all, even though it seems easy at first glance.
The verse is surprisingly exhausting to sing, it's pretty high and with no breathing breaks at all. He is singing most of the song on "thin ice", meaning he is at the edge of his normal vocal range having to belt out the lines to avoid going into falsetto. The only comfortable part of that song is the bridge, but it's still a breathing exercise on it's own. That guy could really sing and had his technique down.
to find it "plush"
I was thinking “natural baritone” and I’ve heard that phrase when people analyse Freddy Mercury’s vocals. There’s at reason Duff and Slash worked with Weiland for Velvet Revolver because he had that range Axl once had. It’s interesting to hear Axl’s speaking voice when interviewed. He sounds like a 100kg dude with a bass voice. Velvet covered Patience and I remember watching it thinking how Weiland would tackle the high notes in “I’ve been walking the streets at night”. He didn’t go for the high notes, instead went for a lower, more jazz like vocal and I think the band may have changed the arrangement to suit it and it was cool as fuck
I loved him.
💚
His greatest vocal moments were Atlanta, And So I Know, Glide and Parachute. All unique but equally different.
Scott Weiland was the biggest underrated/under appreciated singer, who was also my favorite singer of all time. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him.
I am grateful to see more people making videos honoring him. Thank you
Just discovered this vocalist. Awesome! If you can hit E2, adding sub harmonics you can drop down to E1 ;) (i think it is a third getting added when adding vocal fry, which drops the note 12 octave) Quite practical to learn if you don't know any bass or octavist when recording choirs! But it takes some years to master...
Got to see him perform We Will Rock You in between setlist
Superstar
Thank you this further proves my point of Scott Weiland being one of the greatest singers of all time.
Can you pls. do a video about Zander Robin insane vocal range!🥰
Scott Weiland, Layne Staley and Chris Cornell were the best of the best. Let's not forget Jerry Cantrell too. All four are sublime!
Why !!!?? Why cant we kerp the good ones around ? Huh?? I mean theres gotta be a way !!! Theyre all ODing. Were the best muscians in the world !!!
Sound great ofc, but nothing impossible compared to other great rock singers.
Scott Weiland megafan here that was looking forward to this episode:
Disapointed you didnt include scott weilands full blown john demo, where he sings i think his lowest note and jesus christ his highest
Random question what software do you use to measure the vocal ranges
To analyze the isolated vocal tracks?Adobe Audition or Melodyne or you can use like, Singscope on the go
you cannot give us that incredible last vocal line and not even tell us the song it was from
I think it was big machine
Velvet Revolver - It's So Easy (Guns N' Roses cover) from Ozzfest/Download Festival 2005
I remain unimpressed by him. Doesn't hold a candle to Chris Cornell or Layne Staley.
from a technical point of view he shits on Cornell 😂 him and layne are the two best to do it in the 90s
I hope you're kidding
