I'm so glad Billie Joe is getting some credit for being a good singer he is definitely one of my favorites
He has always been right? Don't think he was ever underappreciated
Who isn't giving him credit. Hes literally the face of pop punk. Open your eyes and look around
Billie and his band have just saved my life :)
Finally some appreciation for Billie Joe's vocals 😊 Great video!
Glad you enjoyed!
One vocal line that definitely deserves at least a mention is the Letterbomb Scream
Yea bro I physically can’t do that one
For sure
Gives me chills everytime. Best song on AI
nice rose
fr fr
That 21 guns line I’ve always considered it in my top 3 overall ‘prettiest’ or best sounding lines from our boy of his career. Nice video dude🍻
True! That song is so harf
I think the craziest line is on Know Your Enemy at “so give me give me revolution”
Don't forget that Armstrong is a professional musician and he had trained his vocal skills for few decades. There is some piece of talent, but the majority is hard training and work.
Not only that. He's been singing since he was a little kid.
@@christianaguirre4069 Anyone seen that song he made when he was 5? eueueueuuugh, I think it was weird, but still, cool.
That's the case with most good singers, there is a portion of talent, but you gotta keep training and making it better, you can have a nice voice, but i highly doubt it you can sing like a professional with no training
He is only 20 tho
@@Billie115you're joking, right? Lol
Usually any screaming that Billie does in a song makes it gold, for example:
Hitchin a Ride
Letterbomb
She (check out the famous 1994 live in Chicago)
What makes it interesting is that they are different every time but just as good to hear.
Agreed!!
The song Brutal Love also has some pretty interesting notes as well
Great video there. I think you should also check out "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" by Green Day itself. Billie Joe does some crazy high screams at the bridge and it's even more crazy at the song's ending. He does a similar thing in "Know Your Enemy" at the 'gimme gimme revolution part'.
Agreed
Horseshoes & Handgrenades has a looooong scream in it with laughter at the end, worth putting on the list.
Billie Joe have the voice of an angel! He is one of my favorite singers no doubt
he also does this crazy scream, he does it briefly before the breakdown on hitchin a ride were he yells “shit” just for a moment, but he can hold that note live for a while
I've been waiting for this for such a long time,
Green day are one of my most favourite bands and tbh, i never thought you would do a vid on Billie Joe Armstrong.
Shocking how you still haven't covered Oli Sykes
Brutal love, “something for my troubled miiiiiniiiniiiniing”
Personally, I think the hardest vocal line is from Horseshoes and Handgrenades. I'm not sure how easy something like that is for a trained professional, especially with the amount of breath needed
Billie Joe forever
✊
He use to take vocal lessons as a kid 🙃 and he's one of my vocal inspirations
Billie Joe has sung Jesus of suburbia live
That note included?
@@CrazySingingyes
At which point of the song is it?
@@christiantantillo9432 the very last few seconds of this video
@@CrazySinging you probably shouldn't post something about Green Day if you don't even know what songs they usually play live
1:44 that's my video haha. Amazing job dude!
A beautiful voice and writer he is amazingly talented
Bang Bang also has some very impressive lyrics, specifically when Billie transitions from regular chest voice to full on screaming with the line "this is love or it's world war zero"
BJA is underrated singer he is one of my favorite singer OF ALL TIME along with michael jackson, steven tyler, and also Noel Gallagher
I like ur videos all of them keeps my attention and not boring
🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
what about Restless Heart Syndrome? BJ's falsetto is really good
So umm… Jesus of Suburbia is vocally impressive because it’s like a 10 minute song, not because of any high notes. Billie Joe never goes above an F#4 in it
I was referencing the background vocals
a F# 4 is not an easy note to sustain and repeat it for 10 mins long, the reason why I had to sing it half step down when I had to, Billie Joe's range and capacity to handle the passaggio is just impressive
Nice video, love green day!!!
Great video. Super cool. I def enjoyed
So glad you liked it dear friend
Dude, all I can say is thank you..
No, thank you dear friend 🙏🏻
Thanks bro!
What about the growl he does in Take Back? That shit is fire frfr
I Think One That Deserves To Get Mention Was Billie's Scream When He Played "Platypus (I Hate You)" On The Howard Stern Show In 2001
In the song brutal love Billie has a quite epic moment there with the singing
You need to do one on pantera especially cemetery gates is insane especially the ending
the ending is easy if you know what head voice/falsetto is
the chorus is much harder, being sung in head voice
Phil was struggling with the last note very hard during the recording
I love that man’s vocals. but the ‘AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUHAH!!”in a high pitch was so very unnatural from him but so iconic-
Thought you were going to go into some of his full on melodies, like singing the verses for Armatage Shanks and Jaded at full speed (even faster in concert) is really hard to move notes that fast and cleanly like he does.
Mary Jane by Megadeth is insane, so is Devil's Island
You got the #1 right song wise, but the note is different and it’s from a live performance, on the Awesome as F*ck Live DVD in Tokyo during Jesus of Suburbia when he does the last “no one seems to care” he hits an ANGELIC note. It’s beyond any other note he’s ever hit. SO. GOOD.
You caused me to go back and re-watch that part of that performance. I can't believe I forgot about it! That moment alone just bumped it up to one of my favourite live performances by Green Day, aside from Letterbomb from Awesome as Fuck as well
Hey Matt love billie Joe's vocals but I have a suggestion for this series, can you do benjamin burnley from breaking benjamin in my opinion he's an underrated vocalist here are some songs of some of his crazy vocal performances to look at
-topless
-diary of jane
But I'm loving the videos man, rock on 🤘
Maybe not the most technical but man… the feelings bro.. those fkn feelings🔥🔥🔥
Ayeee Billie supremacy
My favorite singer :)
kinda bummed that you didn’t include the last note in east jesus nowhere
To contribute to your ‘singers singing their highest note live’ thing
Eric Nally from Foxy Shazam on the song Holy Touch. It’s insane on the album. I think he’s done it live once. Usually he changes it out with a pause and ‘I just hope we have a really good show’
I love Green Day so much my dude bro bruthu
When i saw the title i instantly thought of ”whatsername”. The very low way hes talk-singing in the verses is impossible to me.
Rest and the outro to no one knows were to favs of mine
I think any live Hitchin A Ride scream, the growl at the beginning of Geek Stink Breath, or the scream in Horseshoes and Hand grenades should be included on this list.
I think the hardest one is on the restless heart syndrome from 21st century breakdown
Billie Joe is an excellent singer with a very extended range, very difficult to cover, especially from American Idiot onwards
Thumbnail "you can't sing this"
Uh yes I can I have literally the same vocal range as billie
Where is the clip at 1:26 from? I forget; I believe it was like a secret show.
Do Corey Taylor next please
Can you do a vid for Patrick stump
Maybe do one on Dexter Holland? :)
Actually they play Jesus of Suburbia at pretty much all of their shows
I meant that specific vocal line (C#) was never sung that I could find!
Billie Joe is a god !! Vocalist and amazing melodic composer!
Yes I can.
Do Mark Slaughter next pls
What do you think of the section in Jesus Of Suburbia Awesome as Fuck around the 3:30 mark? where he sings "No one really seems to Care"
Please do Ben from Billy Talent next, Great singer
This channel is on a mission and got no decision (lacrou)
crinjeu
you should watch live from bbc radio BRUTAL LOVE
Can you do Henry Rollins and Milo Auckerman?
Do Matt Bellamy from Muse next!
Just so you know... They play Jesus of Suburbia EVERY SHOW
But he doesn’t do that background scream live.
You should do a Hayley Williams list next
Can i ask where is the time for the livestream today 15.4.2024
horseshoes and hand grenades
You should do Chuck Schuldinger of death he has some pretty wild ones.
Hes in the goat conversation for best front men.
Do Lajon of Sevendust
I thing you should do a video about Ian Gillian’s voice
the melody note from the chorus of dookie ´s ´all by myself´ is an E6 !
yeah but that song was sung by Tré Cool
@@Gatchi i know tre sang that song though he did not sing that high E6 note i was talking about..and i figured that since your vid was called impossible green day vocal lines it was legit to discuss it but i guess you feel othewise..! no worries :)
I can sing big girls don't cry. So, falsetto doesn't impress me. Too bad I never had money to get lessons. My bass voice comes and goes though. Johnny Cash is a stretch even on my best days.
such a shame his voice got so high pitched. His best singing voice was in the album warning not even dookie or insomniac (Insomniac is my favourite ever)
Huh, i never seen Billie with that high notes more than in "We're the champions in the live aid" Finally appreciation for my favorite singer when I was aging 10. Now I'm 14 and STILL the same care for him.
going to pasalaqua is superr high
Can you pleaseeeeeeeee do Louis Tomlinson? Or Avril Lavigne? Plsssss
I find that newer Green Day songs are just way harder to sing in general, even the ones that don't seem that impressive on the surface. Anything from the 90s (with the exception of Take Back and Platypus) I find pretty easy to keep up with (to the point that I often find myself making them more complicatedwhen I sing them), but it feels like each album after that has progressively trickier vocals.
Do cky /deron Miller
try listening to Dir En Drey
We do talk about father of all...this is the way.
Never sang Jesus of suburbia live? Haha apart from every gig since 2004
No, he’s never done that background scream live.
while I enjoy the band a lot, billie joe isn’t really much of a technically impressive vocalist. the most impressive songs I can think of is at the end of holiday and the chorus of going to pasalacqua and those weren’t even included. even then, those songs are kind of stretching it
I think that last note is a C#4 and the overtones have fooled you!
didnt even knoe he could do these im just used to the ozzy osbourne style like nasally
... Are you sure that was a Bb...?
Anyone seen billie do the ayyyyy ohhhhh, thing freddie mercury does he sounds exactly like freddie. He did it in a Jesus of suburbia live show
Horseshoes and Handgrenades??
do red hot hot chili peppers
Do Matt Bellamy
I have some requests
Hayley williams
Alex gaskarth
Deryck Whibley
Tom delonge
That Jesus of suburbia note is not high at all I think you might be hearing some other frequency because of the vocal effect
But 21 guns is autotuned pitch corrected
do daughtry
It can't be that hard to sound like you have a cold all the time. Jk
None of those high notes are difficult if you know how to do it
Billie Joe has definitely sung that note live in Jesus of Suburbia.
ua-cam.com/video/vH0mb_Vbq7g/v-deo.html He sings it perfect here (at 4:25 & another nice scream at 5:19)
ua-cam.com/video/kV6F-mOxADo/v-deo.html Same here (at 4:18... also PLEASE listen to him at at 3:30, I cream my pants every time I listen to this)
do arctic monkeys:)
I really should!
So your #1 spot is a vocal that you don't actually play for us? What?
Dude you have to check out the vocal line in brutal love! Absolutely the craziest Billie joe has ever sung!
