I've come to your QAL a year later, and binge-watched all five of your tutorials. Everything about this project is super-cute! Thank you for your free patterns and all of the wonderful tips on how to sew more efficiently and "press for success"!! ~Diana K., Hamilton ON (Canada)
What an adorable quilt. I will make one as soon as I finish a Vintage Christmas quilt for my friend. She picked the Snow Day fabrics so I have had a lot of fun sewing the blocks from Lori Holt and Sew Emma's books. Happy Stitching and thanks Kimberly for the demos.
I am a beginning quilter and your description and detail on this tutorial was so helpful!! I know this will be a go back and rewatch tutorial!!! Thanks bunches Kimberly!!!
I've been quilting a long time and I've never seen borders done like that. Definitely going to try it. Love this cute quilt! Sewing these in a line would make a very cute table runner.
Kimberly thank you so much for the beautiful pattern!!!! You do a wonderful job quickly telling us how to properly quilt. I ❤️ it!!!! I love ❤️ your candidness and speed!!! You’re a very sweet lady!!!
Love that poinsettia block. They are all so cute. I love this quilt pattern. Your overall approach to teaching is the best I have seen as is your technique. I love your ADD when you undertake a project.
Hi Kimberly and Lilly, I want to take a moment and “Thank You” for all that you do. I have learned so much from your videos. I am improving with each quilt however I am far from perfect.. I will keep practicing. I adore the mini quilts and fabric selections! So eye catching, love everything! I am so impressed with all the blocks sewn by your staff.. I hope I can accomplish the skills as well as everyone at FQS, all the quilts are Amazing. Oh my gosh, I have been on vacation for three weeks without internet. Boy was that difficult and I have a lot of catching up to do.. and I am looking forward to my journey ☺️💗🥰. Sorry so chatty.. Again, thank you for sharing, Chris-Raleigh NC
Will this pattern be kept on your blog,? ’m very interested in your pinning and sewing method boarders on pinning then sewing and setting seems, I always pin...(not fro middle out )set seems but got bad duck pleat on my meet the maker quilt how do I avoid this ? I pin, I ease etc....to avoid the duck pleats.thank you for your instructions on your videos....there’s always something I learn, I appreciate this 😘😘😘😘😘👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💜💜💜💜💜💁🏻♀️ SO CUTE....YOURE THE BEST,
Hi Linda! The pattern should always be accessible from the description box under this video, as well as through our blog post. You can download it directly and keep it in a folder on your computer so you know you'll always have it somewhere :) The finishing pattern is here - www.fatquartershop.com/media/wysiwyg/pdf/MerryMiniQuiltFinishing-PatternFINAL.pdf

Hi Denise! The backing on the quilt is from the Snow Day collection. We used Snow Fun SKU# 20631-11, however this is currently out of stock. We recommend Winterwear SKU# 20633-11. Since the quilt is square, you can use any fabric, directional or not! Hope this helps!
Hello! Yes, Kimberly does like to starch her blocks before sewing into a quilt top. You can see a demo here: ua-cam.com/video/j7KELW_xSQk/v-deo.html - Hope this helps!

Why is it important to center the boarders instead of just starting at the top and sewing, cutting off at the end? Just wondering. Kimberly, what pins do you use in your Fat Quarter Shop pin holder? I keep trying different pins for piecing. Love this quilt!!
Yep! They are size 23 Collins glass head pins - www.fatquartershop.com/collins-200ct-white-1-38-in-size-23-glass-head-pins - Thanks for everyone's help answering :)
Hi Patti! Having the seams on the bottom helps preserve the direction they are going, since they are pressed against the bed of the machine. Having more seams on top means more fidgeting and work when the seam nears the foot. Hope this helps!
Hi Deborah! You can share on social media with the hashtag #MerryMiniQuilt - we'd also love to see it in our Facebook group - Kimberly's Stitch Squad - facebook.com/groups/kimberlystitchsquad/
I have to disagree with your instruction to always keep the seams on the bottom and the border piece on top while sewing especially if the border needs to be eased in to make it square. I was always taught if there is fabric that needs to be eased, that fabric should be on the bottom because the feed dogs will ease it in evenly. Was this information incorrect?
Hi Jo! For the most part, yes. Some smaller pieces don't need it, but pinning helps keeps things in line. It's always a personal preference though! You do you :)
It only took me 3 years to get to this one. Thanks Kimberly! It turned out great!
Catching up later rather than never! 😃
I adore this ❤️ Thank you very much 👍

I think ill make mine into a table runner.
That sounds super cute!
curious as to why it makes a difference to find your center mark for your binding on the quilt?
Free Patterns are very Cool, thank you, Gorgeous, BTW - your machine?
Hello Judith! Kimberly used the Juki TL-2010Q Sewing Machine - amzn.to/2Y0vid5
@@FatQuarterShopTX Merry Christmas 🎅 pre July 🎄
Fat Quarter Shop- would you consider making these Christmas T-shirts available on your website? I want one!!
Hi Mary! Kimberly's shirt was made a few years ago by a local t-shirt company. They've rebranded, but you can find information and reach out to them here - atxmafia.com/
That turned out beautiful! Are the border pieces from the same collection? What did you use for the backing?
Hi Denise! The backing on the quilt is from the Snow Day collection. We used Snow Fun SKU# 20631-11, however this is currently out of stock. We recommend Winterwear SKU# 20633-11. Since the quilt is square, you can use any fabric, directional or not! Hope this helps!
Great video and I love the pattern. I also love your watch band, where did you ever find it?
Hello! That watch band is from Casetify - you can find it here: www.casetify.com/product/grey-and-white-hearts---iwatch/apple-watch/space-gray#/943401
Do you starch the finished blocks? If so, do you have a video tutorial about that?
Hello! Yes, Kimberly does like to starch her blocks before sewing into a quilt top. You can see a demo here: ua-cam.com/video/j7KELW_xSQk/v-deo.html - Hope this helps!
Thank you for the pattern. How did you do your backing and what fabric or fabrics ?

Cheryl Thompson Because your border fabric will possibly stretch and then your borders will have to much fabric, making them too full and wavy.
@@auntviohvi Thank you for responding. Do you know which brand of pins for piecing that Kimberly uses?
Here is the sku for the pins she uses c103
Cheryl Thompson I am not sure what she uses. But, my favorite piecing pins are Clover Fine Patchwork Piecing Pins
Yep! They are size 23 Collins glass head pins - www.fatquartershop.com/collins-200ct-white-1-38-in-size-23-glass-head-pins - Thanks for everyone's help answering :)
Why should the seams with multiple seams be on the bottom and the lesser seamed piece be on top?
Hi Patti! Having the seams on the bottom helps preserve the direction they are going, since they are pressed against the bed of the machine. Having more seams on top means more fidgeting and work when the seam nears the foot. Hope this helps!
