Thanks! Interesting. It's a 'you get what you paid for' with this piece for sure. Great little piece of tech if all you're after is to try to emulate the feel of a CRT but didn't improve the overall picture quality at all. Hid a little mess but not much. I unfortunately have no idea if it'd be a good fit for a console. I have a Retrotink 2X Mini that I use for my N64 that helps enormously with visual playability on an LCD screen but I did a quick Google and there are mixed reports when it comes to compatibility with Dreamcast. Good luck with it. Hope you find what you're looking for! 😁👍
@@TheGameroomAwakens thank you mate, i was not aware of that, I somehow found a Dell Ultrasharp 2007FPb recently hope i end up getting it as it can work with 240p . So hard to find a CRT in Australia, all i find is some people selling 50 hz old junk for 80+ aud.
I'm getting a scanline generator for my Mame arcade cabinet, other emulators don't have scanline filters like Demul. Marvel vs Capcom 2 looks bad without scanlines.
Thanks for checking this out! For the price this can't be beat. For perfectionists it would definitely be worth looking elsewhere. It fit my wants and needs nicely. It's a fun experience building your own cabinet. Well done! 😁👍
Do these add any lag or noise? I want one for my VGA monitor I have my Wii connected to with VGA transcodee , but idk if it would add lag or lower quality
No, no lag on this as I can still play the game just as well as before and make all turns on the racetrack just as easily. As for noise...None that I can notice. As with any old arcade there is quite a hum that comes from the machine so it'd be difficult to notice any very slight noise but I don't believe so. As for picture 'noise', also none that I notice. The beauty of these super cheap ones is that there is not much to lose! If you hate it you're not much out of pocket. Some of these components can be really expensive but this one is very basic in both its build and its components. 😁👍
I don't think so. It's a game with a developer I've never heard of, published by Atari in places and other companies elsewhere. Rumour has it Gottlieb arcade in Australia went bust and the owner skipped the country owing the tax man. It's a popular rumour but probably bull💩. Thanks for checking it out though! 😁👍
I use mame so that I can blend and prescale the pixels to the scanlines so they can blend in with smooth round corners.than I adjust the first screen colors darken the back ground so all those defects are not noticeable.than I do my second colors bright ness that my games brightness. You can be setting up 3 to 4 different brightness.theres a lot of filtering bylines also keep it crisp and smooth.i have few test scanline videos up that am trying to get best results.
Most time you want you scanlines in background were you barley see them to bring out graphics detail. Everyone wants to crank them up and they just look like line nothing elese.
Yeah I hear ya! Usually I just want a clean image from my arcade games and am not too fussed about having scanlines at all. This game in particular though, as much as I like it, is lacking in the visual department! I don't know all the technical terms of what I'm seeing but the smearing of colours and ghosting this game throws up on screen is interesting! 😲 👍
@@TheGameroomAwakens A lot people blame it on there cpu but the emulator caps the raw cpu speed to the correct game speed so you can over clock your govnered games cpu.it dos not touch your physical cpu clocks so its safe.
@@ghostbombl8034 Sweet! Yeah I was talking about my ghosting, yours looks great. My vid is running a genuine arcade pcb of the game although I'm content not to throw more money into the setup of this particular one at this stage.
@@TheGameroomAwakens The original board will always be best, but emulator are great for extra over clocking so on.I upstanding can get costly.I am trying to configure my camra so the blur is gone.

@@TheGameroomAwakens I am right know uploading a new video on prerendering your mames frames and why you get mk 1 and 2 jitters no mater what you do.that will teach you lot on why some games like NBA jam is stuck at 37 hertz you can not change the clock to match you screen.
@@TheGameroomAwakens Its one those hobby that mame can be custom any way you want with some advanced knowledge so on that is why I think there's no really good manual. Mame is designed to run games as close to there native so mame writers did not explain what a cheat file 3rd party dos to mame. You need a cheat text file in mame to unlock the over clock, you need to go to mames settings check the cheat box than go into the game to bring up the mame over clocking menu. @@TheGameroomAwakens Thing about scanline generator and digital art like mk is the scaling and prescaling is very tough to get smooth compare to none digital.
Those color pots has to match or it will darken your TV but I always add little red bleed to my lines like original and that helps to.with slight red pot turn on the line generator
pretty good and informative video. I was thinking of getting one of these myself to use it on my screen that i just bought a dreamcast for.
Thanks!

You can mod that VGA convertor into a gbs-c aio and it can create really good scanlines all from the comfort of your phone.

@@TheGameroomAwakens like it looks the same as without the adaptor hooked up the clarity?
Yeah, clarity isn't an issue thankfully. Looks the same quality just with the added lines.
That game looks awesome. Were there any console ports done in that isometric style?
